This is in my top ten all time films. Love this, every time it's on..that's my night sorted. The fight scene at the beginning with the Wing Kong and the Chang Sings is classic. It's crazy that this film was a flop in the cinema, but it's firmly a cult classic.

I was obsessed with this movie when i was a kid and still have not got sick of it... I own a 80's VHS copy as well as the current DVD version... Sometimes i like to watch it on VHS for a most vintage feel it's like it takes me back to the 80's again. Easily one of John carpenter's greatest directing efforts.

This is one of my favorite movies ever made. John Carpenter is both one of the greatist and underrated directors of all time. The action scenes are done very well, the story is great and the characters are lovable. Like Jack Burton. He maybe all talk when it come to fighting but he shows that he has strong heart and doesn't back down. I remember catching some falling books in my science class in High School. My teacher said "nice catch". I replied "It's all in the reflexes." He laughed.
