People have to change there thoughts on guns. it is the people that use the guns to kill other people. if they are not given a gun they will buy a gun illegally or steal one. the problem is not guns. you must try to implicate means of helping people with there problems, whatever they may be. invest your sorrows into trying to stop people before they ever think of using a gun. we need more programs to help the people get over there life problems, not to take guns away from good people.

It is possibly to have a responsible, well armed society, but the government needs to tightly regulate it, keep detailed records and train citizens in the proper use of firearms. This myth that the government is going to "take away our guns" if they regulate and control who owns them (a la "Red Dawn") isn't patriotic, its paranoid. however, the swiss have hundreds of years of history as a militia society, and we've abandoned ours in the US.

A certain country regulates absolutely everything when it comes to citizen gun ownership. when you get a weapon, it is cataloged and regularly inspected by the government to see if it is stored and used correctly. when active armed service ends, the citizen must send his weapon to a government plant where the select fire system is disabled.The government even determines the amount and type of ammo that should be given to the public

Switzerland has a true democracy, they can legally own a wide range of firearms, they are trusted as adults and responsible citizens, are trusted by their Government and have extremely low gun related crime. Compare that to Britain which has extremely strict gun laws, our Government distrusts its citizens and treats them as criminals, yet Britain is awash with ILLEGAL firearms in the hands of REAL criminals.

@bubba007ss No they have not. They've not changed their gun laws. I didn't have room, but I was going to put a short video in here that showed their form of government, which is a federal system somewhat like ours. They don't have states, but instead they have Cantons, 26 of them. For this law to have become national, it was required that a majority of the people as a whole vote for it, and that a majority of the Cantons vote for it, which is hard to do since many Cantons are rural.

Insurance costs; repair bills; time spent dealing with the destruction they create. That said, it is true that most crime is committed by drug addicted people trying to get money to buy drugs, so doing something about the drug problem will go a long way in decreasing crime and the money wasted because of it, although finding the solution is difficult.
