Yes, but all lute music is made for lute tuning, but you can easily tune a guitar like a lute to play lute music (just put the G string in F sharp...)

    Val

  • You are very welcome.

    You are very gifted.

  • Quite beautiful. Your playing is open to every nuance the music decides to express...

  • Thank you ;-)

    Val

  • Val - silly question! How on earth does one keep the Poulton Dowland open to a page? Glorious edition, but not exactly a 'performing' one!

  • I'm not using it for performance, of course !

    lol

    V.

  • Love it!

  • Thanks ;-)

  • J'aime vos chansons par Dowland! Ils sont la musique molle dans mes oreilles! Quand vous jouez, il y a un ainsi le son complet mol et c'est un des sons les plus magnifiques sur la terre entière moi!

  • Thanks for your comments. You better write in english as the internet translators gave sometimes funny translations... ;-)

  • Thanks for the notice. That could end badly upon a day not far into the future. Alas, I have recently taken to speaking French, under instruction, of course, so hopefully my skill shall improve in the near future.

Keep the remarkable talent of the lutenist alive! Bless ye- Michael.

  • I really enjoyed it. My life is not full without listening to you, dear Valery.Thank you, you are wonderful! The sound of your lute is magic.

  • Tres bien mon ami! Do you play directly from Diana Poultons book?

    Merci!

    Per-Olov

  • Hello Per-Olov,

I have the Poulton book, but I also use some fac-simile, and other internet publications (as Diana choose some pieces but other versions are nice also), like the Lachrimae I played, not the "Poulton"'s choose, but the one in the Folger lute book, I find interesting. I'm now working on a recording of 3 versions of the Frogg galliard, all 3 differents and nice to play and hear...

    Amitiés,

    Valéry

  • well done .
