I saw Lenny in a bar called The Cellar Door in Auburn, Maine. I was 19 and it was 1976. I had never heard of him, but I never forgot him. He played something simple, but the more I listened and watched, I quickly realized, as a fledgling guitarist myself, that I was experiencing something very special.
Lenny was drug free at time of death, but he had lost his spark I think. He was strangled by his wife and thrown into the pool. His Homes guitar was not even stolen so his death was not drug related. Unfortunately much of drug abuse was self inflicted, lack of success, his parents divorce haunted him.
