In my opinion this was much better than The Dark Knight (which I DIDN'T like). And I think Jack Nicholson's Joker, Danny DeVito's Penguin and Michelle Pfeiffer's Catwoman were MUCH Cooler Villains.

Nolan notonly stayed faithful to some versions while making a great unique tale of his Dark Knight universe.im not knocking Burton up or anything(i love 89 Batman/Batman returns) and superheroes/supervillians costume, origins, etc changes alot of times to make it "live action" friendly but if the personality, character traits stay the same, it's still batman to me

Burton's Batman films were good, but don't compare to Nolan's films. Nolan's films are as realistic as you can get the source material and are actually far more faithful to it as we are actually treated to a Batman who is a detective as much as a vigilante. Burton's movies had a cartoony edge with parts of Returns being border-line campy. Penguins with rockets strapped on their backs or a that Rubber Ducky mobile..? TDK is hardly lame, especially compared to that stuff.

The two Burton movies were good but Nolan didn't just create two great film adaptations of the Batman source material, he created two great films. Nicholson's Joker is fun, but Ledger's Joker is far more realistic and menacing. Ledger's performance beats out Jack's easily and is more than just a great interpretation of the Joker, its an iconic performance, period.

This scene always confused me! Did catwoman have meta human abilities? Because she took A LOT of bullets without going down... I don't think batman could handle that.

Best Batman ever! Tim Burton was just awesome at doing Batman! I was so glad to have my childhood when people were excited to hear of movie sequels! Batman Returns, Ninja Turtles 2, Home Alone 2, Back to the feature 2, and Ghostbusters 2 all great movies!

@cyrus138 I see his movies as being dark too. I think a lot of it is due to the way it "looks," but I also think these Batman movies were quite dark. The endings weren't exactly happy both times. And compared to Batman and Robin and batman forever, this IS dark. Overall, I think he makes some dark movies, and some of em are "dark" in the imagery, but a bit quirky too. That's why I like him.

@stroeiulia1 Actually, a clown attacks Selina and Batman saves her. It was the clown that had the taser. After he gets knocked out, Selina picks it up. There's a clip of it on YouTube (see "Batman saves Selina").

Best Batman ever! Tim Burton was just awesome at doing Batman! I was so glad to have my childhood when people were excited to hear of movie sequels! Batman Returns, Ninja Turtles 2, Home Alone 2, Back to the feature 2, and Ghostbusters 2 all great movies!

I love new Batman but this movie and the one before..... man! Tim Burton did great job, and Im sad that he doesnt work anymore with Michael Kiton, he is one of the best, sure Johny is cool but Michael was and still is top actor, I think that this two movies are the best and I really like new Bet, but there are too much guns and high tech

@legokinz if you watch the end of the movie Bruce sees a shadow of a cat when hes driving in the car with Alfred he tells him to stop he sees a cat gets it with him in the car then it shows the bat signal and catwoman is standing on top of a building with whip in hand there would have been more sequels with Keaton but WB the complete idiots that they are chose schumaker over Burton which resulted in ... well watch batman & robin and you'll find out

I wasnt so hot on penguins carrying missiles when i first saw it but i appreciate it so much more now after all these "realism" hipness started getting around.Nolan is great & all but cmon,its a freakin' superhero movie!How real can u get?I also dont get how everyone says burton is DARK. His movies look dark.If selena decided,when she snapped,that she'll defy all conventions & sleep with as many guys as she can & gets aids & then gives it to bruce then bruce dies of aids alone,then that's dark.

@cyrus138 I see his movies as being dark too. I think a lot of it is due to the way it "looks," but I also think these Batman movies were quite dark. The endings weren't exactly happy both times. And compared to Batman and Robin and batman forever, this IS dark. Overall, I think he makes some dark movies, and some of em are "dark" in the imagery, but a bit quirky too. That's why I like him.
