  • I am fully in love with her <3 Thanks God she exist :D

  • @idriziekrem You're not the only one who is in love with her... Norah is amazing :-)

  • hi_Ãñý0ÑÈ_wÀÑñÃ_chÅt_with_mË_i_fÈËl_sÓ_lÒñËly_tóDÂÿ╝

  • i wish she was my girlfriend

  • i wanna download this album again in downloadmusic .im

  • Excelente *****

  • I am not sure anyone understands "the way we play". Thirty-two years in the Army and I have borne personal witness to the truth that we do in fact fight for freedom. The ground clutter, the noise of political mouth, bass of the tyrant's beat, and the whine of the celebrity's jet cannot drown out the horrors I have done. But with all my damnation I know, one person at a time becomes "most of all free".

  • it's really beautiful

  • for some reason i think that if there was a death metal version of this song that it would sound pretty damn good! \m/

  • Super jolie, et très bonne chanteuse =)

  • sounds different from her other songs.....

  • this performance is so bad compared to her live in Austin performance of this song. looks like she's bored... hope she was just having a bad day and has not lost her passion.

  • @lickmetender I was at her Austin performance. It was outdoors and the crowd really did get into it. I also have to give props for the selection of the little toy piano sound that made it sound like a circus. If I remember she had a hand on both the large and small one. It was just a great performance!

This one is a more "refined" performance. It's much more formal. The crowd remains silent, and she executes flawlessly. However, she does have more and that was definitely displayed in Austin!

  • @lickmetender sorry yu don't understand. ask around.

  • Gotta love her

  • this is entertaining.

  • 1000000000 % talent!!!!

She is just the best, a true artist, not like all those trash pop divas, prefabricated and fake

  • I'm addicted to this song!

  • This is about the 2004 election, but I know some Republicans who listened to it after 2008!

  • It might me said earlier in the comments, but why is the audience laughing at 1:20? Something to do with politics?

  • @hellskitchen123

    Yup. Ole war-mongering Bush.

  • my fav song of Norah

    mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • Comment removed

  • she must be a fan of chopin.

  • i love the songs message, and it would have been really popular and perhaps percieved controversial by the media if Norah had released it earlier, considering she wrote it 2 years, before its release.

  • This song is beautiful, through and through. So hopeful.

  • I miss the toy piano!

  • Amazing song. The lyrics and the melody.

  • From the cover of Norah's latest album, The Fall, it appears Norah has her great big silly dog. Is there any chance his name is Moe?

  • is not actually her dog, her's is a poddle(who is afraid to the camaras) they decided to let the big dog in the cover cuz he look great next to her

  • The voice of an angel.

  • Love the tune, great melody =)

I love the things that you've given me,

And most of all that I am free,

To have a song that I can sing,

    On election day.

These are the right words, couldn't have said better)

  • kissable lips.

  • no its not an anthem against bush himself but moreso an anthem against the chaos that had commenced with his re-election and all the hype...

  • which one is her dear country ? India or America ?

  • amazin.

  • haunting

  • LINDA :D

  • how can anyone sing so beautifully? this woman is pure talent...

  • Her father is Ravi Shankar, foremost Indian sitar player, who taught George Harrison to play the instrument. Musical talent is clearly inherited(at least sometimes, including in this case). Her real last name is Shankar--I guess Jones is her mama.

  • @supahwoman10 I agree with you but she is also very beautiful. I dont only enjoy listening to her, I also enjoy watching and staring at her;

  • One of these days I'm gonna buy this record too.

Wonderful song, touching together with her mellow voice.

  • it's a great album :)

  • It is indeed

  • BEAUTIFUL

  • very exeptional song, the melody makes me sad but its touching.

  • So sexy.

  • awesome!!

  • MikefromMadrid=fired.

  • It's looking like this song will belong to the Republicans at night's end (not sure, but it seems like it).

  • An amazing theme, indeed. The magic isn't that it's necessarily Democratic. It's theme is a universal one...I don't agree with Kerry or Obama...but I can appreciate a good protest. And this is the best one ever put to song.

That said, I don't want what is inevitable...and so this song works for me this year. Go McCain/Palin!

  • well, it may seem to have a "universal theme", but Norah wrote if right after Bush won the 2004 elections... *hint-hint*?

  • that's to agbook2007

  • AMAZING LYRICS and a theme for the 2004 election.

Don't let it happen in 2008

    OBAMA 2008

  • man i love the piano solo that was great

  • Those of us who wear tin foil hats . . . we've been telling you guys this forever. If we'd known it would only take some song lyrics to wake our fellow citizens up, heck -- we would've written this song at least ten years ago! (And no, our tin foil hats aren't itchy. Much more comfortable than your blinders, we're sure).

  • I love this song so much. It's the perfect reason why I hate politics. So all the debating and such going on.....**shudders** Seriously.....I'm really thinking of moving out of the country after I graduate college.

  • Politics is the same everywhere :)

  • wonderfull music

    wonderfull voice

    wonderfull performance!!!

  • Her piano breakdown is amazing.

it makes me feel like theres a ghost after me!

  • I love this song.

I came to know her during my stay in Canada.

  • I love you Norah!! Would you marrie me??

  • I love this song and the whole album. Norah is very gifted, naturally beautiful and sings with soul.

  • What an honest song... no matter who you are, you SHOULD have an opinion about where this country goes- it's ours after all! :)

  • I guess you would prefer her to be that kind of a shy girl singing ballads and romances that make you cry and everything, but she´s got brains and isn´t indifferent to the things happening around her... I think musicians can´t stand unbiased, and I really like her way of expressing ideas.. GO NORAH

  • this is one of my favorite song

Norah has amazing voice and face :)

    I love u Norah

  • can anyone make a karaoke to this song ? please. :)

  • This song isn't anti-Bush at all. All that nonsense is just more automatic, knee-jerk anti-bush sentiment from typical political nuts.

Try not to stain everything with your propaganda, will you? Let music be music.

  • Actually, this song is an anthem against George Bush. She wrote it right after the election of 2004, she even talked about this particular song in a 60 Minutes interview before it was released in 2005.

  • how can she be so beautiful.

    she looks like a godess.

  • how can you say that... in the song it says ... I love the things that you´ve given me, I cherish you my dear country ... I love the things that you´ve given me, and most of all that I am free to have a song ... I think she can express her opinion as anyone else ..

  • The sadness and languor

    of the Weimar Republic.

  • this is my best songs from norah. i love her voice her music, she's so beutiful. i can listen to her for all time...

  • yeah I could fall asleep to her songs

  • All artists with strong convictions should raise their voices. Remember the "land of the free"? Remember the 1st Amendment? Bravo!

  • 57kristof57 Norah ist SOPPER!!!! Kann Sie jeder Tag hoerren.Damit das leben ist nicht so schwer!

  • I am going to pretend I didn't hear this song... Because I really Norah Jones music but every musician needs to keep there noses out of politics.

  • What? This is one of the dumbest comments I have ever read on youtube - and this is not meant to insult you but to make clear that this is the purest nonsense!

  • What? This is the dumbest comment that I have ever read on youtube. And that is not meant to insult you but to make clear that this is pure nonsense!

  • Thats not the dumbest comment you've ever read. This is. Thanks for playing.

  • Who is allowed, then, to put their noses in politics?

  • People who are smart.

  • like Norah Jones=) srry I just had to put that

  • Yea really good song. the sad thing about this next election is that this new president is going to have to spend most of their time fixing the country and try to re-establish some common ground... that is if Bush/John McCain doesn't get re-elected in that case well u know what the outcome will be...

  • Absolutely my friend, if such thing happens the outcome will be something no one would wish to see or experience in their entir life.

  • I'm talking about Quelmartin.

  • I Love her!!!

  • This song was a lovely way for to speak her mind. I love it. It should've been an anthem. It was certainly the scariest day of '04!

  • I love Norah, but she's got it all wrong about Bush. He's absolutely deranged. She's right about the fact that there's nothing as scary as election day, especially the last two presidential elections, or should I say SELECTIONS.

  • I'm confused - isn't Norah an English citizen? Why would she be talking about Bush and the U.S. if the song is about her country..? Wouldn't she be referring to England or so..? Help me out if I'm wrong.

  • I'm sorry - I researched Norah and she was born in the United States. I am so sorry for my stupid misunderstanding. Such a stupid mistake. I'm a bad, bad fan. To know where one of your favourite artists was born is ELEMENTARY and MANDATORY. :O What was I thinking?

  • You make laugh a lot (In a good way)

  • QuelMartin, no problem. At least you are grown up enough to admit your mistake. You are correct the second time around. She lives in New York, and I believe she was born in Texas.

  • Colleyville, Texas, if I'm not mistaken.

  • You're responding to a post I made a month ago. Are you stalking me? Do you have some kind of crush on me? This is the third video you've followed me on to. I know how you did so, you've gone to my favorite videos from my profile and looked for any comments I made. I made a comment on some of them a year ago. Post a response to them while you'e at it.

  • Watch what you say to a minor, mister court officer. To infer I have a crush on you could be bad for your career.

  • If it is your intention to get me to respond to everyone of your asinine postings, so be it. I'll play with you because you obviously are looking for attention. Btw, what time does Mommy come home from work when you are forced to shut it down for the night and be forced to be in her sight until you go to bed.

  • yeah. she was born in new york(just like me) and her and her mom moved to texas(just like me), i think grapevine, so yeah she was born here.

Her dad is a famous indian sitar player. and her mom is white. so she is mixed.

  • because Bush's politics does not only affect the U.S. but the whole world.

  • @daddymak8 i dont think she is saying he isnt deranged.

i think she is talking about all the pressures he has. dont get me wrong Bush made some terrible mistakes. but when you have all that pressure on you it makes it hard for one to make the right decision.

  • @daddymak8 Don't be a fucking moron.....And for those who think they know how to be Prez, then shut your piehole and RUN you armchair asscaps...........

  • esta mujer .. la mejor del mundoª!

  • Thanks Norah. (Wherever you are.)

    My sentiments exactly! :D

  • i wish i could play this song...

    its so amazing :)

  • i think it's for all elections, and against every leader.. "but the day after is darker..."

  • it IS primarily for the last election and the winner (or loser...point of view) then, cos I saw one of her concerts in Madison Square Garden in NYC where she in a nice sarcastic way mentioned that. It was very soon after she wrote the song. Peace!

  • A fragile flower with a thunderous voice. Says so much with just a few notes. We would all be better served to think like this.

    neo

  • Some people can think this song against Bush. To me it's agains Lula, my bastard communist president (Brazil). He was reelected in 2006, and I have to wait for 2010 to "wake up and scream".

  • This is one of the most patriotic songs ever,I mean think about it,Listen to the lyrics,DECENT is,one of the things(and i do mean ONE!!! because there are many reasons why we became,A so called free Nation)That this country was founded on,FREEDOM FROM THE FARO,FREEDOM FROM THE KING,FREEDOM FROM THE QUEEN,FREEDOM FROM THE PRESIDENT T

  • Saw this beautiful child at the beautiful Fox theatre in St.louis, Missouri , in the States. I am always gladdened to hear that I am not alone in wondering what has happened to the USA

  • j'adore norah jones trop belle voix un sens de la musique inimaginable

  • This is one of the best off her newest disc..

Who Knows maybe he's not insane, maybe he's not deranged

  • thanks Norah ;)

  • that's hot

  • i was listening to this on TV and i got the bit "who knows maybe its all a dream" and looked it up on google.

    Now I'm addicted!

  • one of my favorite songs of hers, it's very 30's 40's for me. love it.

  • luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuv it. i wish i could meet her shes my fav singer

  • Norah is making a Statement in her Creative Artistry.

Listen closely... - pennymusicMAma (And don't you dare call her unpatriotic!)

  • Why would you even go there? There's nothing unpatriotic about this song. Read the lyrics closely. It's intentionally non-partisan, and really quite funny. Anyone could sing this song on Election Day. Norah is smarter than you give her credit for.

The last bit of the song says that she loves her "Dear Country" regardless of who wins. What could possibly be unpatriotic about that?

  • mingusboodle: YOU miss her point in this song.

She is NOT unPatriotic, however subtle in her lyrics about Bush. It isn't funny. Listen & learn. I love Norah & give her High Credit!

You know that anyone who critisizes Bush is

called 'unpatriotic'.Listen to her "Sinkin'Soon"-another statement against the current administration. And she does it in a respectible way. Please enlighten yourself. Love Norah's musical talent!

  • I must respectfully disagree. You may see your politics reflected in this song, but that's because Norah is a gifted writer. I don't really care what Norah's politics are, but she wrote this song in such a way that anyone could go relate to it. And it IS funny.

  • Sorry, mingusboodle: This was Norah's political statement in Music, (if you did listen closely to the lyrics) & also in "Sinkin Soon".

She's NOT trying to be funny, a gifted, serious artist. And I love her talent with ability to make statements in music. It's about time someone would listen & get it.

Please read other Comments. They understood.

  • I hear the crowd laughing in the video, so I'm not the only person who appreciates the absurdity of US politics. Talk to the crowd... they understand.

Space limits restrict me from deeper analysis, so let me just say that it's a tribute to Norah's skills as a songwriter that you and I can listen to the same song and come away with such different meanings. True art has that effect on people.

  • mingusboodle: We do have commonality in our appreciation of Norah's Musical giftednes. She

looks like me in my 20's & sings/performs piano in affinity. Let's forget about politics,& revel in her MUSIC. Love her! Also,my Professional Music Son Adores her like his mum:B.A.Vocal& M.A.Piano Performance.

Friends can agree to disagree, but see heart to heart! Friends? - Penny

  • Absolutely!

  • I really really hate politics. yes i know they are important, but there are soooo many different views.

  • I'm actually pro Bush, but I really love this song, its written from her point of view, and it can be taken from any perspective, for example, no offense to anyone, but if Hillary wins, I'll sing this song. :)

  • Please do more research before you say you are pro-Bush... I'm not going to throw insults at you because it's pointless.. but please...do a bit more thinking in life.

  • yea, really, bush sucks.

    just sayin.

    :)

  • NORAH IS AMAZING!

  • superbe norah!

  • This song is amazing

  • I like her, and that don't mean I'm gay. She is talemted, has a great voice, cute as a bug, wise beyond her years.

  • She played this last night (live in Athens, Greece). Her concert was great, as was this song. She is a talented musician and has a beautiful voice, which really shines through in a live performance. See her live if you get the chance.

  • Funny how people get insulting when an artist criticizes the US President... ;)

  • The only song I love from that album...fantastic! I don't know why...The concept of ghosts is great!

  • yeah! I agree

  • wow. some anger here.

anyhow. she is great. good song for the fourth. :)

  • So amazing voice and beautiful girl too...

  • Isn't she great?

  • Freedom of speech and press is a beautiful concept. Unfortunately, it isn't a perfect one. You're vivid testimony that even a good idea has its downside.

  • that's funny I heard about her from my son's father. He's not fat nor single nor a girl

  • i'm perverted? why, because i'm gay?? lol wow your a real live idiot arent you!! god i hope you don't have children! the ignorance must stop with you and not be bred.

  • Yeah.. mother nature gave you as dick to stick in girl's pussies, not in a man's ass. So get right, asshole. Pervertion does not mean being bad.

  • LOL so your telling me men don't have anal sex with women!?!? mother nature gave me my DICK to stick where ever the hell i WANT to stick it!! And its NOT going in a PINK TACO!!

  • Men have anal sex with WOMEN! WO-MEN, W.O.M.E.N. And that is perfectly fine. You fucking freak.

  • so you think thats perfectly fine but with a man its not?!? daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn your really messed up. Who raised you, monkeys?

  • Normal people did. Buddy, just because today it's accepted that men fuck each other, it's not uncool not to think the same. Yeah, I think you're a perverted disgusting fuck. quees sons'a bitch

  • well, you think that norah jones is a bitch who sings to fat white singles and you spoke your mind earlier, so, he also got the right to disrespect your sexuality if that's what he's thinking!

  • Who will protect this beautiful child?

  • nádherná pesnička

  • jj , moje nejblíbenější

  • =0!!! amazing!

  • unbelievable what this soul gives to me

  • NORAH JONES IS JENIOUS!!!!! i love her new alum

  • LOVE THIS SONG!
