i cant seem to do phase 4 with all 4 advisors... i cant get aggro from me to my pet even if i MD, im thinking shouldnt even attack the other guys except for the one im going after just to give that a chance... plus if i feign death the fight is resetting even if my pet is out.
@gowill2 The trick is to get your pet on the nearest Advisor, then FD when he gets agro, they won't despawn after that. If you FD too early, they will despawn. You also want to MD Capernian and dps her quickly, the sonner she goes down the better.
@NAPREDATOR Yes, it's a challenging fight for sure. The hardest part is the transition from phase 3 to 4. If you don't get you and your pet positioned perfectly it's all over.
@zschnepf77 i've seen other solo people by different classes, but none of the hunter ones pull the mobs out of the room scattering them about, wouldn't that be easier though?
Hey man, thx for the guide, i made it after about 10 tries, first i had some reset problems, then some dps problem, popped a pot and solved that, changed specc to something similar to yours, then i wiped at 51% because of mind control + reset.. i rushed it :\ 2 tries after that i downed him, no mount tho but it's an amazing solo fight tbh, feels great:) thx again for a great guide.
You dont need a DPS pet for phase 1 ... they die sooo fast that is really NOT needed.
On that one add you attacked first your freaking out. You dont really have to kite him all the way BACK and disengage to the wall and keep running. Freakin run back a bit stand and nuke. You'll run back nore more than twice..
@ssmimess The reason you have a dps pet for phase one is the debuff the last add puts on your pet. That's why you switch pets for phase 2 so your pet won't be stunned the whole time. The adds are ridiculously easy on their own, but positioning is key for phase 3. They are pretty deadly when all 4 pop in phase 3, which is why positioning is so important, ie the kiting of Thaladred.
1-2% according to Blizzard, with most sites listing a chance of ~0.8-1.2%.
As I said, almost all the rare mounts in WoW have a 1% drop-chance by now. [Zulian mounts had, Baron's mount has now, Attumen's horse has 1%, etc. pp]
And even if my dropchance were wrong, which it isn't, this would still not change the fact that my math is correct, it might just have a different solution due to a differing variable.
@Voijinzo Ever heard of gambler's fallacy? Go wiki it... every time you kill him the drop rate is STILL 1% (or whichever actual drop rate it's at). It DOES not go up.

When ever I feign death, the fight resets.

are spirit beasts reasonable alternatives to turtle/scarabs(for all their self healing) or are they too specifically useful for certain fights?
Sc4r4byte 1 year ago
By the way - what spec is your tank pet? Have you configured him for tank with max dps or max survivability?
Thanks!

@hydemd
My turtle is set up for max survivability. Cat is setup for max dps.

@hydemd pets are on the armoury :)
This is quite an annoying fight, it feels as if the weapons/advisors just resist feign death every time :(

Thanks for these videos! Can't wait to try your method!
Our guild runs this once a week to try for the mount - in three years it hasn't dropped yet! Verrrrryyyyyy low drop rate!
hydemd 1 year ago
@hydemd
Let's assume the 3 years are 156 weeks. (3*52)
The dropchance is 1%, as with almost all rare mounts in the game.
The chance to not have had a drop in 156 tries is then (1-0.01)^156 = 20.8%
That's actually still pretty high, don't you think?

@Voijinzo 2% drop rate, your math is flawed.

@ocping
Apparently you did not read my comment before posting yours.
I never said that the chance goes up. What I DID say was, that the chance to have had it drop once grows close to 1 after time.
This means that after a bazillion tries, it still has a 1% chance to drop, but the chance that it has not yet dropped for you is abysmally small.
