It only seems unnecessary until that slide takes the skin off your hand for the first time. I've frequently been a victim of slide bite just because of the way my hands are. The distance between the slide and my hand was mere millimeters. I slapped one of these on my Glock yesterday, took it to the range today and fed 100rds with no problems.
Another great video! Seems the beavertail grip is suited for thinner guns like the 1911. I saw this and was like "what, a beavertail for glocks?" Crazy. :)

- Thanks for the review I was going to pick one of these up will likely not now . You and I appear to have the same hand style . Thick palms , short fingers . I almost cant reach the mag release on a G17-22-31 adding this sucker likely make it imposible .
I just like the plain ole Glock. The only mods I ever do is the grip plug. I think the controls are just right, and the Gen 4's grip is great for me. Nice review, keep on rollin brother.
