  • One of the best songs that the UK has entered. And Where is Imaani now?? Such a shame. This should have won by a mile, but I think the extravagance of Dana International stole it. It was a great year, Danijela, Dawn Martin (I liked it), Jill Johnson, Edsilia Rombley, Chiara, as well as Imaani and Dana International. I remember Edea being a big disappointment on the night.

  • the last time we had a decent song.

  • sorry for dana this year 2011

  • best entry ever !

  • Eurovision was good before it allowed bullshit, non-European countries like Azerbaijan to enter.

  • @Dendiol israel is not from europe too

  • This was one of our best imo

  • A Eurovision entry from the UK with style. Still love it now. Does not date.

  • This was the time when the Eurovision was still innocent. Politics and neighbourly voting hadn't really kicked in and countries like the UK, Malta and Netherlands could do really well for purely musical reasons (I know the UK enter rubbish now but I think we've just given up)...don't forget that this was the year that Greece got 12 from Cyprus and everyone booed because they thought it was biased (no offence to Greece or Cyprus) but it was true. People looked down on tht sort of behaviour!

  • @pauluk72 people still boo when greece gets 12 points from cyprus. they did it this year too.

  • @pauluk72 People booed because those 12 points from Cyprus to Greece were the only points Greece got all evening.

  • My favourite song from 1998.

  • @francisnancy54 And from the UK, too.

  • I LIKE IT!

  • A quality song from the Uk in 1998. Always thought it was very Toni Braxton! The song was relevant to what was going on in the charts at the time! As for the 2010 entry, it made me embarassed to be British!

  • this is my favourite year ... so many good songs and performers

Dana ... Imaani ... Guildo ... Chiara ... Edsilia ... and Danijela with "Neka mi ne svane"

  • wt year did it become poltices

  • Deserved to win, but unfortunately lost from the hype around the Diva song...

  • This is still my favorite UK entry to the contest. Any other year this would have won. No act was ever going to beat Dana International, it was really a contest for second place in 1998.

  • its a good song but i did not like the singer when she was promoting this song she said she did not like eurovision, and after the song came in 2nd she said she said if she had to lose it was good she lost to a novalty act soon after she and the katrina were on a talk show 2gether & she looked at Katrina & said well i at least i got a record deal...pity someone should have advise her 2bcareful what she says as stangely the title of the song suits her now....

  • @somethingj well she actually still performs with sould 11 soul

  • 1998 is the best year of all eurovisions for so many reasons. It happened in my hometown of bham, phonevoting, the most interesting voting results, the best songs, a live audience, so professionally put together and executed so smoothly, and the one that started the trend of having eurovision in big stadiums.

  • and the best think is the israeli victory! :D

  • @neanderthal1000 rubbish sweden in 1985 had a 14000 seater arena bigger than birmingham and also millstreet and ols were in arenas before birmingham

  • This was on year the UK REALLY should have won - brilliant song ans sung brilliantly - First year they ever used phone voting and had they used the backup jury, UK would have won for info - very unlucky to have come second :-)

  • I have a feeling we should put a song like this into eurovision in Norway... but probs a more 21st century beat (Y) we do good with sorta emotional songs!

  • This is a really classy song. It still sounds fresh and contemporary 11 years on. I loved the performance from the backing singers.

  • She's great and it's a beautiful song.

Is it me or does she look like Alesha Dixon?

  • oh my God that's was I thinking!! I thought it was Alesha Dixon too!!!!!!

  • Imaani did us proud!!!

Should have been the winning song

Atleast we've got her in incognito now (Y)

  • is she in incognito?

  • wow we came 2nd with this? After winning the year before Euro must have been in love with the UK! shame it didn't last

  • should have won, much better then Israel!

  • good song

  • such a good song, and a great year! the BBC did a great job hosting it i was really suprised =)

  • For me, this was great. Israel was not a winner in my opinion. I'd say Malta should have won :)

  • Beautiful song! Much better than the song that had won the previous year.

  • It deserved it's place, such an amazing song!!

  • one of my favourites uk entries of all time :)

  • Great song. Modern and touching.

  • If all the votes from the back up juries had been used this would have actually won!!

  • where did u get this info?

  • Yes where did you find this please?

  • That is because you are a Swedish nationalistic pig.

  • Should have won!!

  • indeed. I met her mum at the supermarket in Nottingham! So just for that, she should've have won

  • Last entry of the UK that really rocked big time!!!

  • Nicki French did, too in 2000

  • That was a nice song too, but a bit to bland for me...

  • i though it was cheap.i think this song and 1999 2002 2005 were all good and deserved top 5 places
