One of the best songs that the UK has entered. And Where is Imaani now?? Such a shame. This should have won by a mile, but I think the extravagance of Dana International stole it. It was a great year, Danijela, Dawn Martin (I liked it), Jill Johnson, Edsilia Rombley, Chiara, as well as Imaani and Dana International. I remember Edea being a big disappointment on the night.
This was the time when the Eurovision was still innocent. Politics and neighbourly voting hadn't really kicked in and countries like the UK, Malta and Netherlands could do really well for purely musical reasons (I know the UK enter rubbish now but I think we've just given up)...don't forget that this was the year that Greece got 12 from Cyprus and everyone booed because they thought it was biased (no offence to Greece or Cyprus) but it was true. People looked down on tht sort of behaviour!
A quality song from the Uk in 1998. Always thought it was very Toni Braxton! The song was relevant to what was going on in the charts at the time! As for the 2010 entry, it made me embarassed to be British!
This is still my favorite UK entry to the contest. Any other year this would have won. No act was ever going to beat Dana International, it was really a contest for second place in 1998.
its a good song but i did not like the singer when she was promoting this song she said she did not like eurovision, and after the song came in 2nd she said she said if she had to lose it was good she lost to a novalty act soon after she and the katrina were on a talk show 2gether & she looked at Katrina & said well i at least i got a record deal...pity someone should have advise her 2bcareful what she says as stangely the title of the song suits her now....
1998 is the best year of all eurovisions for so many reasons. It happened in my hometown of bham, phonevoting, the most interesting voting results, the best songs, a live audience, so professionally put together and executed so smoothly, and the one that started the trend of having eurovision in big stadiums.
This was on year the UK REALLY should have won - brilliant song ans sung brilliantly - First year they ever used phone voting and had they used the backup jury, UK would have won for info - very unlucky to have come second :-)
I have a feeling we should put a song like this into eurovision in Norway... but probs a more 21st century beat (Y) we do good with sorta emotional songs!

@pauluk72 People booed because those 12 points from Cyprus to Greece were the only points Greece got all evening.

This is a really classy song. It still sounds fresh and contemporary 11 years on. I loved the performance from the backing singers.

For me, this was great. Israel was not a winner in my opinion. I'd say Malta should have won :)
