Well that was not what I was expecting. It was somewhat depressing and not the normally uplifting Sons of Maxwell I am used to. Still, it is a part of life and that is what balladeers sing about.
@CanadaIndieFilm although it looks like St john's downtown, the guys are living in Halifax and so is curve productions who does their videos, so I am betting it must be Halifax. Note the brightly coloured houses, which are so because the boats took priority for painting and some the houses got the left over paint.
these guys need more exposure. I hope Dave becomes known for great-worded songs like this rather than United Breaks Guitars. While UBG is an awesome song, I just don't want to see an awesome songwriter becoming known for more than just that song.
hey ive been listening to you guys for atleast 10 years now parents took me to my first concert at the halifax waterfront and it was you guys. you rock
I went looking for song two in the United saga and just started letting one Sons of Maxwell song after another play. They are so infectious and charming. The guys are adorable, know how to tell a story, and just plain sound good.
I really love this song, it's amazingly upbeat and still talks about a depressing sort of "what is the world coming to" subject. It's just great, I heard it while driving, on an old mix tape and I had to find out what it was.

Such a catchy melody, albeit a rather depressing subject. But it's so true.

I'm really starting to like these guys. What is it with Canadians being such great musicians? (Arrogant Worms, Barenaked Ladies, Nickelback etc)

Cool tune! Sweet Vid. Where were the indoor shots filmed? Reminded me of the Matador in Toronto. Loved that place.
