@JimmyPlayz Shallow Life lives up to its name. Even if there were something redeeming in their "new sound," you can't call it "epic--" at least if you want to use "epic" correctly. Unleashed Memories would be epic b/c it treats serious topics with surreal, atmospheric music. Shallow Life can't be epic b/c it treats trivial themes (mostly self-pity) and has a more commercial sound than previously. But tell me, what's so damn "epic" about it?

@NazTb0y I thought it sounded amazing, like all their music. Enjoyment of music like most things comes down to personal opinion, its subjective. Though I agree it might have not been as good as the other albums, it had some really great songs on it, and just because something sounds a bit commercial doesn't instantly make it bad. There new album Dark Adrenaline is set to drop in 2012, Christina herself has stated its going to be darker and heavier than SL. I for one am looking forward to it :).

@JimmyPlayz DA sounds encouraging. Music is subjective when it comes to choosing between Wagner & Mozart, or Jazz & Classical. It is not subjective when choosing between Beethoven & the Beatles. Also not subjective in choosing between Karmacode & Shallow Life. Nothing wrong with a commercial sound in itself, but all bands need some spark of life to make the sound somehow exceed being "commercial." Karmacode is LC despite being commercial. SL is commercial despite being LC. See the difference?

However, it can't be commercial and "epic." Why is everyone a critic? Well, we're the ones listening to this stuff, so why don't we get a say on what's good & what isn't. All in all, I consider myself pretty damn fair.

Love the song. I think it's kinda funny that Cristina was originally recruited to be a backup vocalist, and now if you Google Lacuna Coil, half of the pictures are of her :P and it's easy to see why! For people debating hottest lead vocalist for amazing bands, Anette Olzon of Nightwish is pretty well up there.

She's a great singer, but her voice is too "sweet" for this type of music. sweetness + violent riffs = not a good mix. I still like lacuna coil a bit because of the music, but i know i'd like them a hundred times if they had a different vocalist, preferably a guy. In fact, the best parts of this song are those where you can hear the guy in the backing vocals
