  • Marche du régiment de Turenne by J.B lully is where he got the melody...

  • Warning: I am an APH fangirl. IT FEELS LIKE WE SUMMONING THE DEVIL!!

  • This is a really good song.

  • Hey, age-ism is not cool. Lol. I'm 19 as well, and a music lover. I not only adore Farandole, but I've played it in a symphonic setting many times. It is a work of pure art.

  • STREETLIGHT!

  • I impressed Jooli with this :D Thanks @TheWickedNorth

  • wow this is faster than usual...that horn part is epic!!!

  • I'm playing this in my orchestra! I play first violin, which is fun, but all the spicato is hard!

  • I have no idea what any of you are talking about! :D

I'm playing this in my orchestra class. :L

  • I wish people knew about this song BEFORE Catherine....what a great piece.

  • don't hate on anime lovers! What is wrong with them relating this song to Hetalia (awesome)?

  • @dunimars Simple: Hetalia. Fucking. Sucks.

  • @Valkodu Thank God, someone had to say it eventually.

  • @dunimars

I know right? Why hate on anime? At least Hetalia lead them to a classical masterpiece(that my music teacher neglected), unlike american cartoons like chowder which get people dumber. I mean hetalia is educational in a goofy and fun way, though i guess people can get annoyed by the childish fans

    ANYWAY

the song is lovely too bad there must be arguments on here.Enjoy the music people, dont hate hetalia, hate that SOPA or protect ip or whatever!

  • @FinestFantasyVI Many American Cartoons make modern references to (amazing classical music). Entire Looney Tunes episodes have followed a famous score. Hetalia, or anime exclusively, is not the first to do it. A week ago I found out about the "Dance of the Knights" piece through a new Simpsons episode, for example.

But it is fair to say we're here to like music and not to fight about anime, so enjoy the music everyone :)

  • @HamburgersandTea

True, and I know about Looney Toons, though they're not new cartoons, they're old like 90's or stuff. Unless you mean some new looney toons. Anyway,it doesn't matter.I just wanted too say that fangirls shouldnt be stupid and anime haters should not bash anime and just watch

  • @FinestFantasyVI "old like 90s or stuff" LOL

    Little kids are so cute

  • @blaq7427

im not little,im 19, I just didnt want to google it,i saw it then, its still now,i KNOW its older

  • @FinestFantasyVI Just FYI, Looney Tunes started in 1930s, that's LIKE... 80 years ago. OMG! ;)

  • @giorgimt

wow,yea well i knew it was real old,i heard it somewhere, but i didnt want to google it,but shame todays cartoons suck,i feel getting stupider by the second when i watch it

  • i love when videogames are more than shoot at things, at least i learned about great domposers with catherine

  • Please stand up for the Romaliakos FC anthem.

  • The intro sounds vaguely Pirate-y.

  • it is so epic to play bassoon in this. except for the last 5 lines: DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

  • @2matts1piano Cello part. thats all we get . DDDDDDDDDD Almost as bad as Pachelbel but with more variation

  • 8 sheep fell down :3

  • STREETLIGHT!!

  • Haha, how funny that everyone here´s talking about Hetalia (♥) xD

When we listened to a part of this in music class I nearly started to laugh out loud xDD

Well and when we SANG it, my friends told me to just sing the japanese lyrics, haha.^^

But of course the original orchestra is really wonderful, our school orchestra played this part and the pastorale today at the concert ;3

  • I play this in my band :) It's my favorite peace. It's so fun when you play it on flute! :)

  • Beautiful piece, by the way.

  • HURR DURR THIS WAS IN A VIDEO GAME I PLAED 1 TIME,,,,1!!<3

  • Yay! We are playing this piece in wind ensemble. Super catchy.

  • I love anime, and I'm a huge otaku. Yes, I have watched Hetalia, especially England's "Marshmallow Song." Still, that is not the original piece. This is the classical and original orchestral piece, and we should treat it that way. Anyways, not everyone here is an anime fan, so no need to force feed them something they don't want, less what they don't need.

So please be considerate. I don't want anime fans given more of a bad name.

  • I really hate the fact that people mistake famous and beautiful music for something so out of context like it's in Anime... This music is ancient, before tlevisions were even invented.

  • someone who dislikes this is just someone who has tried to play it and can't. Just Kidding! Everyone has their own opinions :-)

  • Go Wind Ensemble!

  • I love this song! I know how to play this on the violin.

  • I looked this up because of Blue Knights Drum Corps. I like theirs because it's so agressive in the beginning. I advise you to look it up. :)

  • i play thhis in orchestra and im 10 :)

  • FINALLY it took me ages to find this

  • i was listening to this and the marshmallow song at the same time~ pretty cool

  • @XObitchyprincessOX hetalia? you know england's marshmallow song was based on this song, right?

  • @Bazgirl9 THis song is also in Catherine.....and yes I noticed....

  • MUTTTTTTON.

  • Played this on a euphonium with a concert band. Such an awesome song.

  • Been playing this on flute, my tongue hurts xP

  • my life has a soundtrack like this...

  • DEFINE MUSIC: Georges Bizet's l'aresienne suite farandole

  • I used to play the 2 Suites of L'Arlésienne some years ago as 1st Clarinet : such great memories ... especially this Farandole whose rising joy requires all your attention to control your speed and so much of your energy that you almost end it up breathless ;-)

  • Meramera to, oyaki tsukuse, sumi kara sumi made sono gouka de,atokata mo nokoranu you ni,tamashii made mo yaki tsukuse

  • @XObitchyprincessOX lol. thanks... for.... sending me this??

  • Undo. Undo. Undo. Undo. Undo.

    Alright, I got it!

  • Reminds of Hetalia's England demon chant xD

  • Comment removed

  • @Alishondra Because they used this to project his demon chant xD

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE!

  • I'm here because my orchestra played this... GO MEEEE!!! ANd go BIZET TOO!!

  • so happy i got sheet music :D

  • I am so happy that i am going to play this

  • Please stop talking about anime for the love of all things :(

  • @WhiteN0iz How bout that anime?

  • @WhiteN0iz It's not anime. It's a video game by Atlus, and if it makes this song more kickass, and more appreciated, then you shouldn't complain. :)

  • @WhiteN0iz actually it's a game. And it's the reason why some people watched this.

  • @WhiteN0iz I can see where you're coming from but the way I see it is that if a videogame can open the eyes of even just 1% of its players into appreciating this fantastic music then it has done a good service to the musical tastes of those people. I find it rather sad when there's people who refuse to listen to classical music so when something else can convince them to try listening to it and even like it I get a bit more faith in humanity for having good taste.

  • @WhiteN0iz THANK you

  • @WhiteN0iz Why? Anime is nice. At least they aren't talking about Twilight. :3

  • @gigirox18 True enough!

  • @WhiteN0iz :P Well if you think about it, the fact that we were inspired to look this up DUE to the game it is used in is a good thing.

  • @WhiteN0iz Even if you don't like anime or videogames, you have to give them credit for incorporating classic geniuses like Bizet, Bach, and Chopin in such a modern medium, in order for younger audiences to experience how fucking awesome this shit really is.

  • Seems like Hetalia also helps to spread culture. XD

Ironic how England's campfire song was composed by France.

  • @shmikoprincess HEY You're right!

  • "Edge. Edge. Edge. Edge. Edge."

  • @SonicTracks ????? what?

  • Comment removed

  • I originally heard this in Little Einsteins. I was wondering why England's campfire song was playing.

  • @Summerierierish ROFL???

  • I had heard of this through Hetalia, but I'm here for Bizet's wonderful music. ;)

  • The woodwind section after the epic opening is out of place.

  • i played second oboe for this piece. good times :)

  • I originally heard it on Hetalia, but I found out what it was based on, and came here. Not just because it was from Hetalia, but I wanted to learn what was behind it. :)

  • This flute part is a B%#@$.

  • Hetalia, Mitsudomoe, Catherine, Japan reuses awesome music

America - Hear rock you like a hurricane till you want to commit suicide :P

  • @shadowgilgamesh

Huh? I hear plenty of hints of classical pieces out here in the U.S.

Obviously if you're listening to the mainstream t.v. and radio stations, the only thing you'll hear is mainstream music. That's probably what's bothering you.

    *listens to "Imperial march"*

  • *Listens to music*

"Catherine has appeared. It's the killer. Do not die."

    Me: Fuck...

  • hetalia! XD

  • In Soviet Russia, Blocks climb you!

  • O.O my friend just text me to watch this video....

    my igirisu sama...

don't kill me for mentioning hetalia, guys. I love classical music, but I'm just too shocked

  • @LoganCookMusic I'm listening for class! music appreciation is awesome. and I'm not the one for this type of music.

  • I play the second violin lead for this song in orchestra.... its an amazing song to do...specially if its a small orchestra, the sound you can make from it.... it's wonderful!

  • anyone else listening to this for a college class?

  • @LoganCookMusic yeah lol music appreciation here lol

  • Comment removed

  • @LoganCookMusic - Yeah, the professor actually used this piece to make examples of Monophonic, Polyphonic and Homophonic textures.

  • @LoganCookMusic Yup. ^^ I am as well. Kamien 10th edition?

  • @lilymarieblack nope, 7th

  • @lilymarieblack You got 10th edition, we use 7th, wonder what the difference is....

  • @Bo1t Yeah same here. Our teacher told us that if we didn't have the 10th ed then we would be having trouble following everything in the class.

  • @LoganCookMusic Music appreciation!

  • England... you love France waaaaaay too much to make his song a demon summoning melody. XD

  • This is is so awesome. =D

Anyways, it doesn't matter how you got here, as long as you like the song. ^^

    (At least, that's my opinion.)

  • The FUCK Vince? You never showd me that pic on your cellphone!

  • I'm here because of the hetalia demon summoning song aka the marshmallow song by England

  • @TheArtOfMapping That's funny. My marching band is playing this piece this year. We're also doing Nessun - Dorma from Turnadot and a piece called Camen - Bacchanale which caontains exerps from Carmen in the first of the song.

  • @TheSharbear14 Interesting. FINALLY another band that actually plays concert-style music.

  • @ScarceCastle2 If you want to look up our band, I'm sure we'll have a post of the show up in a while, it should be Lakota West Marching Band 2011.

  • im here cause of catherine NOW but if you really wanna be technical, Im really here cause of bob james 10 years ago lol

  • Yeah, its kind of unfortunate that this is getting so many hits from Catherine, but i have to admit...I'm here for both :P

  • I'm not here because of some good video game, I'm here because I like good music.

  • I have two beautiful pets!

  • How do you make SHEEP JUICE? Two blocks. One sheep! SHEEEP JUICE!

    Add wool for seasoning! WOOOOOOOLLL!!

  • Devil Summoning song aka marshmello song by England (hetalia)

  • I can't believe I never heard this composer before!

Meguro's version sounded so epic while climbing up those godforsaken blocks, and the original version is just as awesome.

  • I don't care how I got here as long as you genuinely APPRECIATE the piece than I'm a buddy with you.

  • I saw the New York Philharmonic a couple years ago, and they did this as their second encore. I'm glad I FINALLY found what piece it is! Thank goodness for those online musical theme dictionaries.

  • Dude, never watched Hetalia here. Already knew this song looong before Catherine ever came out. BUT I got a huge kick out of hearing it while climbing the shit out of that wall. It's pretty cool that modern media is bringing this sweet little piece of music into public consciousness again.

  • Fine, I'll just keep climbing then.

  • RUSSIA APPEARS OUTTA THE GROUND!!!!

    I WASNT CALLING YOU!!!

  • I'm pretty sure soon half of the views will be from Catherine fans.....

fixed for the truth : D

  • this is a really beautiful piece. however, i cant help but notice all the hetalia-related comments........................... england.............

nevertheless, it was amazing to listen to the whole thing..................... even though i was singing along with it when i could...

  • Empireo bitches.

  • Being a Hetalia and Classical music fan I would just like to say isn't it brilliant that a cartoon can get so many people listening to a brilliant piece of music!

  • Why is it this version is less like Devil Summoning and more like the Baltics doing ballet?

  • Flare up and burn it down

from corner to corner with that hellfire

    don't leave a single trace

burn down even their souls /shot

  • Hetalia all the way.

    Anyway great classical song. :3

I love both, classical and Hetalia.

  • Im here for Bizet XD

  • I'm here for the Atlus game Catherine. also middle school orchestra.

  • I know most of you are Hetalia fans but respect the people here for the actual Orchestra/Composer.

  • im here just for bizet, who the fuck is arthur kirkland?

  • @elguillerebacan He's a character from a Japanese anime show called Hetalia, he represents Britain, a part of the tune of this song is his devil summoning song

  • I KNEW THAT ARTHUR KIRKLAND'S SONG SOUNDED FAMILAR.

  • I'm here cuz of Catherine :)

  • @WhiteRoseGrl23 your not the only one

  • Hetalia fans eh?

I'm not here because of Hetalia, I'm here because of Catherine.

  • @Mattmog18 That game is probably the single best Japanese-to-English translation ever.

  • @Mattmog18 I'm here because of both. XD

  • @Mattmog18 I'm here because of the song by Bizet.

  • @sb9715 I wish we all were here solely for that, alas though we are not. But at least we are here.

And so for all of us who are here because of Catherine, Hetalia, or whatever other possible outside motivation, we are all here, listening to this wonderful piece by Bizet, and we should be thankful to what led us here, and more importantly, we should thank Bizet for making this wonderful piece of music.

  • @sb9715 Is it me or why are most classical music appreciators so... stuck up?

  • @lsynnad its because we have a very specific idea of where modern music should be stuck, and it's not up...

  • What is hetalia?

  • I am one of the numerous Hetalia fans brought by England because he decided to sing in a really sexy, yet creepy way while roasting marshmallows XD

But I actually like it for more than it being used in Hetalia, it's a genuinly marvelous piece of music...

  • @Selchea32 It's also meant to be Don Kanonji's theme in Bleach isn't it? According to Tite Kubo

  • @AlexanderT21 Is it? I wouldn't know...I haven't listened to all the Bleach characters themes (honestly I haven't watched Bleach in a while either... I've had distractions abound) But if Tite Kubo says that is his theme then I guess you should believe him. :D

  • i actually knew this before i knew about hetalia :L

  • I misread his name, I thought it said 'Bidet'

  • I'm pretty sure half of the views were from Hetalia fans.....

  • @PinkShopao30 Yep, Well it's true for me CX

  • ...i came 'cus of England too... -is guilty og being a hetalia fanatic-

  • STREETLIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT

  • STREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETLIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHTTTTTTTTTT

  • When I wana relax!! Just with this song.

  • i'm loving the fact that there's so many Hetalia comments on here because England's Evil Demon Summoning Song has the same tune xD

  • meramera to, yaki tsukuse, sumi kara sumi made sono gouka de, atokata mo nokonaru you ni tamashaii made mo yaki tsukuse

  • omg! everyone here was brought here by hetalia

  • omg all of us hetalia fans are here hahahahahaha XD

    i <3 England

  • I'll admit that I came here because of Hetalia... -_- I'm not trying to offend any diehard classical fans though, because I like classical music too.

  • da lontan arrivano tre re su dei cammelli.... xD

  • This song makes me want my mommy. Iggy is scary!!! -is HUUUUGE Hetalia junkie-

  • Jeez, we're all a bunch of Hetalia junkies...
