It's not so great rolling the sword blade around your fingers like that. Also, you may want to use the spine instead of the edge when placing the sword in, or removing it from the Saya.
The Katana looks pretty cool though. I would love to see how it cuts. Often the true test of the quality of a blade is it's use in Tameshigiri cutting. It will tell you a lot about the quality of the sword.
Its very pretty but obviously very dull, look when he shows Yakiba (the cutting side) its too thick to even be considered sharp, but it is very pretty.
looks very very cheap. is it deadly? yes. everything that long can be deadly, even a baseball bat. thing is, with this katana you can deliver a deadly blow, but you can't cut the head off :P
my point is get a baseball bat and no one will laugh at you for that.
@fujiwarakenji already got two lol and mine are hi grade 1045 and 1060 carbon steel, you can tell when you see a real one as it'll usually have a blood groove(HI) and an almost straight temper line(HAMON) up the blade, c'mon zombies

@fujiwarakenji it is illegal to import weapons to uk yes and shurikens are completely illegal in any way here also, but it is legal to buy and own a katana under 44" in england if its forged in the uk, must be sweet in japan though? as it says thats where you're from?
@spikeycloud7 Even in Japan, its hard to acquire the real deal. Master forgers will only sell to people who they deem worthy of their masterpiece. I aint kidding. And some wont even talk to you about katanas if you dont have proof that you come from a long line of samurai. In any case, Im in the US so I cant really ask anyone to confirm these statements coz I havent been to japan in ages. Some family members still live there though, maybe I'll ask them.
@fujiwarakenji i`d recommend coldsteel as you're in america, (master series isn't as expensive as emperor series but still made to same standards) they persuaded masters who left japan to show them how to make their katanas and even get compared to legendary swordsmith masamune, it was my first choice but they only ship in the u.s. =o(
their swords make mine look like amateur stuff, just type it in and look at few vids they have posted on here, i was really impressed with them

I like how everyone says it is fake just because of the reflection. Sure it isn't battle ready, but it is one nice piece to look at. I'd love to practice my sword forms with that.
Man, katanas are always beautiful, but i recommend (no offense meant) that instead of buying cheap replicas off internet save up and buy -at least- a proper iaito. You won't regret it! trust me! And it'll seem a whole lot more beautiful and solid than those film replicas :D
@chi854 I will say the ninhounto you mentioned has much better looking fittings. And that sword probably wouldn't shatter after the first impact but it wouldn't be suited to prolonged durability tests or (why you would be engaged in this i dont know)a prolonged sword fight. Theyre meant for cutting soft targets(tatami, goza, what have you), plain and simple. The cheness and cold steel are the best back yard beaters for the money.

Ideally, you want a 1060 or 9260 carbon rating. Look into the new cheness springsteel katanas. They use 2% silicon in thier steel and they have flexibility tests all over youtube with the proof of how good they are.
I agree with you 100% I had one like what this guy sells and it was junk! Embarrassed to say I spent money on it. I now have Hanwei, musashi and soon munentoshi I'd like to get the Hanwei Raptor also.
I used to have one of these and I learned my lesson, if you want a good blade, just save up the money and get a decent sword like a Cheness, a Ronin, a Ryumon, a Dynasty Forge, a Paul Chen-Hanwei, or if you want a real beater that is gonna last to abuse get a Cold Steel. You know, that is exactly what i thought, probabbly not even folded more than once, and the clay marks are WAY to visable. I bet it would break agains a 5 time folded katana.
This is a decorative sword. NOT a real sword. The clay lines are not real, just wire brushed. The blade is stainless steel and not folded, just machine forged.
This is a tarted-up version of a cheap Katana made by Ancient Warrior that's been out since the movie was released. Same tin blade and etched Hammon and inscription as before. Nice if you like something like this on your wall. But nothing more..
The Katana was removed from the sheeth wrong, and it is being places upside down. The handle should be on the left with the top of the curve pointing up. Storint it that way can damage the blade. When you pull it out/ put it back in the sheeth, put it in with the back of the blade against the sheeth. This will help in protecting the egde.
Looks pretty nice but if that was a real high carbon steel katana you should touch the blade like that because that can cause rusting and you should always store the blade face up to preserve the cutting edge and when you draw your sword never draw it by sliding the blade accross the saya/scabbard.
to me that sword looks really fake i wuld maby pay 1 dollar for it tops since it wont cut also the balance of a sword like that (a fake on) is 99,99% of the time off so the blade is not meant to be used. tho if u say its real unplugg the on the handle and remove the hanle to show the marking wich ALL real katanas have and also the license that confirms that its a real katana
its a pretty piece of steel but a good sword it is not. good wall hanger but nothing else. the edge pattern is definitely brushed on, the handle wrap is some kind of synthetic fiber, the scabbard cap looks like a tachi despite the katana like sageo, and the kanji on the sword loof painted on instead of engraved. pretty but not "beautiful". if you paid any more than 60 for it you got jipped.

the only thing thats real on that peace of metal is the sageo and ite wrap. If people are going to put videos about swords they are trying to sell on here then at least show real swords and not crappy wall hangers! Im so sick and tired of seeing this crap but i keep watching just in case they actually show a nice sword.

This is a decorative sword. NOT a real sword. The clay lines are not real, just wire brushed. The blade is stainless steel and not folded, just machine forged.

This is a tarted-up version of a cheap Katana made by Ancient Warrior that's been out since the movie was released. Same tin blade and etched Hammon and inscription as before. Nice if you like something like this on your wall. But nothing more..

The Katana was removed from the sheeth wrong, and it is being places upside down. The handle should be on the left with the top of the curve pointing up. Storint it that way can damage the blade. When you pull it out/ put it back in the sheeth, put it in with the back of the blade against the sheeth. This will help in protecting the egde.

Looks pretty nice but if that was a real high carbon steel katana you should touch the blade like that because that can cause rusting and you should always store the blade face up to preserve the cutting edge and when you draw your sword never draw it by sliding the blade accross the saya/scabbard.

to me that sword looks really fake i wuld maby pay 1 dollar for it tops since it wont cut also the balance of a sword like that (a fake on) is 99,99% of the time off so the blade is not meant to be used. tho if u say its real unplugg the on the handle and remove the hanle to show the marking wich ALL real katanas have and also the license that confirms that its a real katana

its a pretty piece of steel but a good sword it is not. good wall hanger but nothing else. the edge pattern is definitely brushed on, the handle wrap is some kind of synthetic fiber, the scabbard cap looks like a tachi despite the katana like sageo, and the kanji on the sword loof painted on instead of engraved. pretty but not "beautiful". if you paid any more than 60 for it you got jipped.

The hamon looks ridiculous. I mean, you can fake a hamon yourself that at least LOOKS somewhat real, this one doesnt.
Also im pretty sure the metal this thing is made of is inferior to cheap kitchen knives.

that's so fuckin' NOT beautiful. too much gold, the metallosection's also awful, too industrial- a good katana is mostly plain. maybe some coloured drapery around his scabbard.
