My ex bro in law, was a dead ringer for HH,in looks and actions.Rand was a genius,as a writer & as an artist. His stuff,is SO funny, tears flow down your face!
I took a night school cartooning course taught by the late great Rand Holmes around 1980. He was a great guy and obviously put a lot of effort and preparation into his teaching gig.I think the host is mistaken about Rand moving to San Francisco. As far as I know he always lived in Canada.
Well, according to the book, "Rebel Visions" by Patrick Rosenkrantz and published by Fantagraphics Books in December of 2002 (1st edition), page 234 says, and I quote,
"Canadian artist Rand Holmes, who had been working by himself in British Columbia for several years, moved to San Francisco in 1973 to get closer to the action."
There's more, but I'm only allowed 500 characters here.
@SirRealComix he moved to sf for a brief period and then went back to canada... he thought there was too much competition in sf... i am reading his biography 'the artist himself'

I can "identify" with Harold too.
Love some of the quotes from "Wings Over Tijuana."
..."Why don't we just fuck instead"
..."First toke today..."
