Haha, yeah I suppose. All I wanted to do was get away from the typical lovey-dovey romantic material and imagery. Ultimately I had this idea, scoured up a few images, and just felt that ultimately (a few lyrics aside obviously), the same sentiment could sort of be applied to young childhood relationships with pets. Innocence and all that. I dunno, felt like it worked for me.
