Good video, thumbs up :) But maybe next time you should consider not showing old houses no one really cares about and focuse more on the fameus places, gardens, buildings and statues etc. next time you make a video like this. I kinda get the impression that scandinavia is a old outdated place when I watch this video, but I know it isn't because I live there ofcouse ;)
Uh, how exactly is Denmark included in Scandinavia and Finland is not :P I mean, Denmark is in mainland Europe side of the Ocean, while Scandinavian mountain line goes through northern Finland. So, in fact, Finland is more of Scandinavian country than Denmark :D
Sweden and Norway are the core Scandinavian countries though.
@OnlyLifeMatters In the strictest sense Scandinavia is and have always been Sweden, Norway and Denmark, Finland is a Nordic country but it is not considered part of Scandinavia.
The Vikings were from those three countries.
They were once one country under the Kalmar union.
Their language is very similar since they are all based on old Norse.
@OnlyLifeMatters Only because it was under Swedish rule at that time, Finland does not share the linguistical or cultural bonds that the three other countries do.
Geographically you could argue that the most northern portion of Finland is part of the Scandinavian peninsula but that's about it.
@rorylol Well, guess that we Finns should stick with them Russians then O.o At least we have much in common with them culturally. Another plus side of it is that Russia is re-emerging superpower^^
So, it all ended happily after all. You scandinavians can have fun with each other and we finns and russians try to make up something :D
@OnlyLifeMatters I don't think most Finns would agree with you there seeing as Finland fought off two invasions from Soviet Russia in the second world war.
Sweden, Denmark and Norway secretly sent volunteers to fight alongside the Finns numbering over 8000 troops in all.
The Finns would be wise to remember who their friends were when it really mattered. ;)
I want us to leave the EU and join all northern countries in a union of true brothers, that includes Finland.
@rorylol Correction, Soviet Union. Now Russia is a whole different thing, as they gave us autonomy/self-governance. There are statues portraying and streets named in honor for Russian emperors, most notably Alexander I and II.
I appreciate those 8000 brave Norwegian&Danish men especially when their own countries were occupied, but they were quite little when Finland itself had army of 750 000 men at it's peak strength. And Germans.
But you guys will always consider us Finns outsiders :'(
I've never been to Norway or Denmark...I'd love to visit though. I have been to Sverige...och Stockholm. After seeing that, I have one thing to say...Jag älskar Sverige
I've been in these three capitals and liked Stockholm the most. It's like Oslo, Copenhagen and Helsinki mixed with London, Paris, Vien and even New York in one city (plus, the surrounding nature gives it a super atmosphere). :)

Technically Finland is in Scandinavia, because Swedish is an official language of Finland, Finland was a part of Sweden for 600 years. The legal system of Finland was adapted from Sweden. The Finnish flag has the same desing as the other Scandinavian countries. Term Scandinavia comes from the Peninsula - mountains between Norway, Sweden and Finland, yes Finland has a part of that Peninsula up in Lapland. Åland is a part of Finland, is Åland in Scandinavia? They speak only Swedish in Åland.

"Swedish is an official language of Finland" <-- that is just old relic from past, it´s just matter of time when Finlands only official language will be finnish and swedish (or finland swedish) will be minor (or major in some case) language in some parts of Finland.
wrong. the term scandinavia is not based on THE peninsula, it was based on the countries in the peninsula and the southern region to it (denmark). so even if finland was between norway and sweden it would still not be a scandinavian country. scandinavia is not based on geography!!! it's the common history, roots, culture and language!

And I don't consider myself as Scandinaian, because I feel very proud to be a Finn. We are among the richest, happiest and most welfare states in the world, as does Denmark, Norway and Sweden. Oh, and if somebody claims that Denmark is part of Scandinavia, think this: Geographically only 2 countries, Sweden and Norway, belongs to Scandinavia. Oh yes you got your similar language, but in Finland swedish is official language too. It's quite funny to think wich countries are in Scandinavia anyway
I think you are a bit wrong. Richest, happiest, most developed society and highest, livingstandard country is Norway (Regarding UN's rankinglist for many many many years) and not Finland.
But Finland is a nice country as well, but I think the people there are a bit melancholic, but they are nice :)
I said AMONG, not THE :D You missunderstood me here. We are 6th happiest, 12th richest and 9th developed, and all that putted together Finland is 6th in CIA ranking or something. Yes, Norway and Denmark are ahead of us, and their really nice countries too.

Scandinavia is not purely defined by geographic means but also defined by common origin of language, similarities in history and culture. Finnish belongs to a whole different body of language. It has been influenced by Sweden but so has Denmark by Germany but such influence turns no country Scandinavic.
Untill 1815 Norway was part of Denmark so we have such intertwined history, to separate it is hard to do.
