  • Good video, thumbs up :) But maybe next time you should consider not showing old houses no one really cares about and focuse more on the fameus places, gardens, buildings and statues etc. next time you make a video like this. I kinda get the impression that scandinavia is a old outdated place when I watch this video, but I know it isn't because I live there ofcouse ;)

  • looks like some one forgot my country..iceland hello???

  • @ColdHumorChannel Iceland is not a part of Scandinavia :) Scandinavia only include Sweden, Denmark and Norway ^^

  • lol sounds like finns are some kind of outsiders

  • Uh, how exactly is Denmark included in Scandinavia and Finland is not :P I mean, Denmark is in mainland Europe side of the Ocean, while Scandinavian mountain line goes through northern Finland. So, in fact, Finland is more of Scandinavian country than Denmark :D

Sweden and Norway are the core Scandinavian countries though.

  • @OnlyLifeMatters In the strictest sense Scandinavia is and have always been Sweden, Norway and Denmark, Finland is a Nordic country but it is not considered part of Scandinavia.

The Vikings were from those three countries.

They were once one country under the Kalmar union.

Their language is very similar since they are all based on old Norse.

  • @rorylol Finland too was under the Kalmar Union

  • @OnlyLifeMatters Only because it was under Swedish rule at that time, Finland does not share the linguistical or cultural bonds that the three other countries do.

Geographically you could argue that the most northern portion of Finland is part of the Scandinavian peninsula but that's about it.

  • @rorylol Well, guess that we Finns should stick with them Russians then O.o At least we have much in common with them culturally. Another plus side of it is that Russia is re-emerging superpower^^

So, it all ended happily after all. You scandinavians can have fun with each other and we finns and russians try to make up something :D

  • @OnlyLifeMatters I don't think most Finns would agree with you there seeing as Finland fought off two invasions from Soviet Russia in the second world war.

Sweden, Denmark and Norway secretly sent volunteers to fight alongside the Finns numbering over 8000 troops in all.

The Finns would be wise to remember who their friends were when it really mattered. ;)

I want us to leave the EU and join all northern countries in a union of true brothers, that includes Finland.

  • @rorylol Correction, Soviet Union. Now Russia is a whole different thing, as they gave us autonomy/self-governance. There are statues portraying and streets named in honor for Russian emperors, most notably Alexander I and II.

I appreciate those 8000 brave Norwegian&Danish men especially when their own countries were occupied, but they were quite little when Finland itself had army of 750 000 men at it's peak strength. And Germans.

But you guys will always consider us Finns outsiders :'(

  • You shouldn't picked Oslo... Ugly city... You should picked Bergen The Worlds most Beautiful city =)

  • scandinavian girls, Making everione else uggly since the dawn of time <3

  • ''Wonderful'' pictures of Scandinavia! Nice Music***

  • I've never been to Norway or Denmark...I'd love to visit though. I have been to Sverige...och Stockholm. After seeing that, I have one thing to say...Jag älskar Sverige

  • STOCKHOLM, OSLO AND COPENHAGEN! All, very beautiful and intresting cities! :)

  • :) I have been to Copenhagen and Oslo, my next aim it Stockholm!

    <3 Skål for Skandinavia! :)

  • @AyeAyeKapitanie <3 Scandinavia verdens beste "land"

  • @viking665 Enig ;)

  • :) I have been to Copenhagen and Oslo, my next aim it Stockholm!

    <3 Skål for Skandinavia! :)

Men fine byer alle sammen. Oslo ligger litt bak estetisk sett, men kommer seg sakte men sikkert, som med f eks Bjørvika.

  • I've been in these three capitals and liked Stockholm the most. It's like Oslo, Copenhagen and Helsinki mixed with London, Paris, Vien and even New York in one city (plus, the surrounding nature gives it a super atmosphere). :)

  • three crowns? Its the national symbol of Sweden.

  • Oslo in my heart:)

  • No. Scandinavia is only Dennark, Norway and Sweden. Nordic countries (Norden, or in Finnish pohjoismaat) includes the 3 countries and Iceland + Finland.

  • Why flee when you should stay and fight!

  • i really feel happy when i see other people happy,,,although i have a mesirable life:D

  • Iceland IN 2007 was ranked as the most developed country in the world by the United Nations' Human Development Index

Icelanders have the Money we got the BIG Banking

  • Isn't Iceland bankrupt....I read something that Norway and Denmark gave them a emergency loan?

  • We did, Iceland used borrowed money;) I think Iceland is ranked lower today than in 2007.

  • Actually Iceland was doomed back in 2005 by the Danes and the Norwegians, because you used money you not had. However it's good that Eva Joly will help you to clean up the mess

  • Finlands people and language are way different from the Germanic Scandinavians. Thats why they arent a part of Scandinavia.

  • wrong. the term scandinavia is not based on THE peninsula, it was based on the countries in the peninsula and the southern region to it (denmark). so even if finland was between norway and sweden it would still not be a scandinavian country. scandinavia is not based on geography!!! it's the common history, roots, culture and language!

sure finland got influenced by the swedes, but so was USA by england way back, but is USA a part of great britain?

  • I think you are a bit wrong. Richest, happiest, most developed society and highest, livingstandard country is Norway (Regarding UN's rankinglist for many many many years) and not Finland.

But Finland is a nice country as well, but I think the people there are a bit melancholic, but they are nice :)

  • I said AMONG, not THE :D You missunderstood me here. We are 6th happiest, 12th richest and 9th developed, and all that putted together Finland is 6th in CIA ranking or something. Yes, Norway and Denmark are ahead of us, and their really nice countries too.

  • oh u are so fucking ignorent, but i forgive u because i presume u must bee like 14 y. o.

Denmark has always and will always be a part of scandinavia. only finns refuse to accept this,

since the word scandinavia is a cultural term used to describe the common historic, cultural and languege, of the 3 kingdoms: Norway , Sweden, Denmark.

this is why the area of sweden and norway is called the scandinavian peninsula, and not just scandinavia.

because everybody knows Denmark is a part.

  • I disprove your use of language but I agree 100 % that Denmark belongs to Scandinavia.

Scandinavia is not purely defined by geographic means but also defined by common origin of language, similarities in history and culture. Finnish belongs to a whole different body of language. It has been influenced by Sweden but so has Denmark by Germany but such influence turns no country Scandinavic.

Untill 1815 Norway was part of Denmark so we have such intertwined history, to separate it is hard to do.

  • I like finland :D As well as norway, denmark, iceland, and greenland and many other countrys too, anyway... But many of you seem to consider that Finland isn't a part of Scandinavia, so I guess it isn't... But I'm not sure :P

  • Seriosly. Finland has no friends... Sweden, Norway and Denmark are pretty much alike. But FINLAND? They havn't got anyone that they are alike.

  • Yes they do... Estonia. Very similar language... I once even heard Estonians wanting to be Scandinavians :-D But hey I almost feel sorry for the Finns. They can be part of our club (which they are - Nordic Council) as long as they don't confuse people by claiming to be Scandinavians :-)

  • Im from Finland and I do not consider myself as a Scandinavian.

Finland DOES NOT BELONG TO SCANDINAVIA.

NOW HAPPY? Ignore the people who says so.

  • Scandinavien best place on earth

  • @Scandinavien4ever

    yeah.. But so fucking cold

  • swedish, norwegian and danish is north-germanic languages, and finnish is not.

  • And it was about time. I actually made a Finn cry once, when I convinced here Finland wasn't a part of Scandinavia.

Had to show a lot of links and books, before she believed me

  • Sweden invaded ur Country and Counqered it during the Medieval Age.

  • Im from Finland and i do not consider myself as a Scandinavian.

  • Finally someone who realized that Finland isn't Scandinavia

  • yeah

  • Yep. Finland is a part of "fennoskandia", if you have heard. But, only a little part of Finland actually belongs to scandinavia, and it's northwest of Finland. But that fuckin slice is so little, that nobody counts that. There are many opinions wich countries belongs to scandinavia, but my opinion is that Finland isn't a part of it. That's all.

  • For Scandinavians there is just one opinion... Norway, Sweden and Denmark. Hell, even Icelanders know that. But yes, for non-scandinavians there are many opinions. But then we just have to teach them the truth :-)
