I've run a Suzuki LJ50 under water when crossing a river (the DeGray river). The water was up to half the windscreen. That Suzuki had a sealed engine and with a snorkel I was able to cross the river (nearly under water) easily.

With a snorkel and firm base to the river this is straightforward. A diesel (with snorkel) can run under water with the right preparation.

Land Cruiser > Land Rover any day both on and off road. Land Cruiser is the only vehicle that has driven to the North Pole, Jeep and Land Rover try and fail every year. I'm an Astrophysicist and Ex Special Forces Lt Commander and have done work in Antarctica, Land Cruisers are the only thing running tires that can operate outside of the bases. Even the most current Land Rovers can't match TLCs from 50 years ago.

@Browning50 Nope, it's snorkeled. Even if water did ingress, Toyota's will still run... they've been swamped and pounded in salt water as the tide came in, completely battered in the surf. After the tide went out the Toyota was retrieved, kicked out the sand, banded a few things back in place and added fuel, and off it drove.

@itsbasil1126 It's not a cable morons, that called a leaf spring. FJs are perfectly capable of doing this and there's plenty of videos showing people fording water this deep and deeper. I have several FJ's and I've gone through rivers almost this deep no problem.

@MyRuLeZzZzXBL It's not a Jeep, it's a Toyota Land Cruiser, a Jeep could never do this, they are way too sensitive to water. And that's not a tow cable, that's a leaf spring. If a tow cable was attached that low it would be on the axle which can destroy the vehicle by ripping off the axle.
