I'm a big fan of Castiel, but I appreciate he'll be less prominent. Having an angel who can zap you anywhere is a big 'get out of jail free' card (sometimes literally). Also as others mentioned, side characters are important and I've enjoyed the soujourns into other stories, but it should always come back to Sam and Dean. With luck they'll phase Cas out with style and good storytelling so the people who wanted rid of him are happy, and the people who liked him don't have to feel too rejected.

The fans who love Castiel /Misha can go out the exit door with him. I sign on to watch SPN since 2005, because of two brothers hunting together , doing the family business...not riding on the wings of an annoying angel who brought down Sam's wall and in season 6, spent his time being called on every other episode to help Dean bend over.

@Iwiccaozzie I presume what you mean by this comment is: "if people are watching this show just for Castiel then they're Castiel/Misha fans, not Supernatural fans", which is... okay, it's probably debatable, but still a relevant point IMO. Doctor Who has similar upheavals regularly, as some refuse to watch when the protagoist is recast. Thus leading to cries of "You're Tennant/Eccleston/Whoever fans, not Doctor who fans." I look forwards to future episodes with or without Castiel.

You say you don't hate Misha but you are throwing out sarcastic jabs like Misha is seen too much in the gag reel or others. Misha is a member of this cast, he should be at interviews, in gag reels, at panels, and the fans who love him have every right to show their love. You love Sam/Dean, that's fine, but at least respect the fans who love Cas/Misha.

@Iwiccaozzie Dude, on SPN, once a new powerful creature(s) emerge(s), there's no way to get rid of it completely. In season 4 we were introduced to Angels, and I highly doubt that they will ever leave, just like Demons. BTW, Castiel owns! (I respect your decision though.)

Just because the show is about Sam and Dean at the core doesn't mean they can't have other characters on the show for a long period of time or explore how Sam and Dean's relationship grow and evolve with other characters. This world isn't just Sam and Dean only, other characters can inhabit in it too, that's what makes it a good show.

I AM NOT A FAN OF CASTIEL , so I hope there is less of him in season 7, he is becoming the Marcia Brady of a series that used to be about 2 brothers hunting with out an angel coming to the rescue every other episode. Castiel,Castiel,Casriel....is all you here now ...in what should be Sam and Dean 90% of this series. Even in the gag reels he is seen too much. Mishaminions worship him but the majority of the fandom is tired of Misha, Misha,Misha,...too much of any one character is annoying!

Sam was always a step behind Dean, because Jensen was always more popular than Jared (he won all polls). And now a lot of new fans want Dean and Castiel at least as much as Dean and Sam. I mean, if he had always been in a recurring guest star position like Jim Beaver, we wouldn't worry but it's the fact that they had him promoted to series regular and is now demoting him that worries people as to what he's gonna do.

@BetaArtemis I understand. I'm a Misha fan too ♥. I think they gave him this new "God" job and this is maybe one thing why he can't be in every episode. He is now the one who must be brought back on track. Castiel is "the bad guy" at the moment and you can't show the bad guy in every episode. :(

@Nueva74 I know they can't show "bad guy" ever episode, but still, even before when he was series regular, he wasn't in every episode, so I really don't see why that would make a difference, even in season 6 he had only 12 episodes, even less than Jim Beaver, so I really don't see why they have to demote him and why they won't say why. If this is really a budget thing, then I completely understand and I'd rather they just come out and say it.

@BetaArtemis Like I said I'm a Misha ( Castiel ) fan too and I agree with you. Unfortunately I have no answer why they did it, but like you, I was hoping they would explain it better. I try not to make myself crazy with wild speculation. Sera Gamble said they love Misha and Castiel, so I can actually imagine it IS just a budget thing. Many fans wanted the music back, like S1, but again it all costs more. And they have a small budget... *sigh*

I guess my trust in TV execs is just very thin right now, they say a lot of things but they don't always mean it...I just hope there will be a better storyline for Cas and for Misha, both deserve it. :)

I think the idea to kill Castiel would have been true only if there had been no plans for Season 7th I really can't imagine any other reason that they write out such an established character in just a short time.

Oh and believe me, I can understand your "trust" in TV. We get so many promises in Germany from the transmitters and less than half will be met.
