I also received the cartoon classics pack the same Christmas and that was probably the best Christmas ever! I remember watching the Bart Simpson intro and being amazed at the animation and sound. I had a C64 before but I had to sell it to part fund the Amiga, fair enough trade though but still wish I had the 500+ and box etc. Amiga was to me far superior to the macs we used in art dept in school, if only Commodore had got a contract to be the supplier for all schools they might still be here.
i remember when one of the amiga sales team came in to our old school with an amiga to demonstrate to the art department the graphics capability esp. video capture / playback (this was in '91)....at the time we had an Archimedes....i remember the amazement at the 'massive' colour pallete compared to the c64...it seemed most schools did stick with the acorn series though
I remember reading such catalogues in many years, dreaming to own an Amiga one day ..
Finally I got my first Amiga 500 and used it pretty much for mod-tracking (music) with software such as Protracker and Digibooster :-) .. and I released some tunes on the Aminet ;-)
No where my old Amigas are on the basement, I am still producing tracks - but now in a Mac environment...
Nice one mate, enjoyed this. I have just modded an old xBox and am currently enjoying using it as an amiga emulator, my favourite computer ever. I had the Cartoon Classics one too think I must have got it in Christmas 92
Haha very nice mate, good to see you in the festive spirit! Enjoyed your '91 story and it's funny because I received an ST that same year and also have a photograph of me ripping off the wrapping, eager to get the thing up and running!
Miss your videos techguru !

@bluetonic78 Nice, I was the same, my mother had to drag me away from it for Christmas dinner, don't think I've ever eaten so fast!
