Thanks for trying to help others by posting an instructional video to inform others how simple it is to grow your own food at home, but I had to down-rate this video because of the hand gestures and lag from your camera.
My mango tree just broke thru the soil this morning. I got my seed from a store bought mango. All I did was crack the seed case open right after eating my mango, and then I soaked it in a damp paper towel inside a ziploc bag for about a week until the taproot started to grow then i placed it about 1" beneath the soil and two weeks later it has broken thru and is about 2" tall.
I don't remember how a mango seed is. I guess it's like an apricot seed. If so, one have to let it dry, then break up the outer layer and get the seed for planting.
@hrbear why not buying one from the market . fresh. peel the skin, eat the flesh. wash and dry the seed and leave buy the window to dry for a few days. crack the shell open use some tooth pick on three sides and soak the bottom in a glass of water( tooth picks holding it above the glass rim and inly bottom side touches the water. you,ll see the roots in 14 days or longer. plant it in good sandy soil and enjoy watching it frow in full sun.
i don't think making motions with your hands like you're cutting a mango is really the same thing as cutting a mango. Why make a video if you aren't going to actually show anything?
@SuperKare123 It generally will take 5 to 8 years for your mango tree to bare fruit, and about 3-4 if you graft your tree. Dont expect your mango to taste as good as the one you got the seed from, unless you graft it.
Why's everyone so harsh. If you couldn't understand how to plant one from this video, then I think you need a mental evaluation. Yes, she may not have showed the process. But she explained it well enough. It's simple: Cut open mango, remove seed to dry (I don't dry it out, but most seem to) then crack open the seed case, Place in bag with wet paper towel, then plant once roots develop. As adeprizio stated. It's not rocket science. Seed goes in soil, seed grows, plant likes fish emulsion, done.
For the cherry tree did you also crack open the shell to get a seed out or did you just plant the seed straight from the cherry? Thanks for the Video! Good job!

Your loyalty to the maker is admirable, but feedback is GOLD. If you're gonna make a VIDEO of how to do something, you gotta SHOW it.....lolol........z
