Hmm.... Well Imma say this, SU's arrangements on some songs are good, BUT I have noticed that I never hear them slow down the tempo to their songs. I know(or think) they can probably play in tune. If they're intonation problems are that bad, then they need help.

NO ONE plays Purple Carnival better than Florida A&M , say what you want but I'm stating the facts. Just listen to those trombones when FAMU plays it EXCELLENT articulation. I say it all the time, it takes DISCIPLINE for a band that size to beas musically professional as they are.

My overall opinion of the SWAC is Southern is the dominant band on the field and in the stands.

It's not a stands showcase so they'll actually have to be entertaining on the field. I bet they remember what happened the last time they were in ATL with FAMU. Actually FAMU does play the run in Get Away. The percussion plays the run and it's very clean. Unlike southern. when they play the run they make me wish they had not played it all. A hot dayum mess.
As far as the win since this is a football game and not symphonic band festival I'll give it to SU. I mean lets be real if I'm walking down the streets of New Orleans trying to have a good time I dont wanna hear that ish FAMU be playing. Two of my favorite are Michigan and Ohio State which marches the same as Famu. But I'm "SU 4 Life" and our drill concepts and style just amaze me! Famu gets their respect...

Man! Southern is very good. However, Fam Tubas was blowin this game. Over all I think that Fam has lost alot of their style. I am talking about articualation, balance and dynamics. The used to be the best at these things.
yes it is the whole style of battling. u dont hear FAMU complaining when su tried to play loudly over the 100 while FAMU was playing "Total Praise" in respect to an injured player. it was later in the 3rd quarter of the same game too. they're either hypocrites or have very selective memories. my vote is for hypocrites.
Props to both bands on the march. As usual FAMU sounds great and balanced but I cant stand when bands have quality but no power to match. I just sounds so much better when EVERYBODY can hear.
contrary to popular belief, every song isnt supposed to be played with power. especially marches. i guess some bands didnt get that memo. sound QUALITY also involves knowing when to apply the appropriate dynamics to give the music contrast, life, and versatility.

My bad, just getting at him because of an early jab on Pt 2. I don't have any problem giving props where they are due because I'm a lover of bands in general. Two of my favorite are Michigan and Ohio State which marches the same as Famu. But I'm "SU 4 Life" and our drill concepts and style just amaze me! Famu gets their respect...

But that's tha thing wit our directors their emphasis is on quality and tone and all tha technical things u look and listen for when dealing with bands(not to say no one else does)... they know FAM could easily play loud but tha quality would of tha sound wouldn't be good....Anybody could play loud but real musicians are concerned with technique not sound!!!no disrespect to no one!!!!!!

Man! Southern is very good. However, Fam Tubas was blowin this game. Over all I think that Fam has lost alot of their style. I am talking about articualation, balance and dynamics. The used to be the best at these things.

yes it is the whole style of battling. u dont hear FAMU complaining when su tried to play loudly over the 100 while FAMU was playing "Total Praise" in respect to an injured player. it was later in the 3rd quarter of the same game too. they're either hypocrites or have very selective memories. my vote is for hypocrites.

Props to both bands on the march. As usual FAMU sounds great and balanced but I cant stand when bands have quality but no power to match. I just sounds so much better when EVERYBODY can hear.

contrary to popular belief, every song isnt supposed to be played with power. especially marches. i guess some bands didnt get that memo. sound QUALITY also involves knowing when to apply the appropriate dynamics to give the music contrast, life, and versatility.

Hmm and didn't FAMU steall towels and other things out of a Detriot hotel, Kappas from FAMU but a young man in the hospital and the university was sued for 2 million dollars, oh and also the 100 was cited for hazing as well? Not everybody likes your sound, son. I personally love that swag and respect your steez, but I don't like that loud, tinny ass sound. Y'all got upper brass power and absolutely no lower brass power. It's ain't balanced. FAMU has full power and I like that better. $hit ain't negative. It's just what I like.
