I know this because in the season 4? episod Elephant's Memory he is at a meeting confessing that he was having cravings. Also in the season 7 episode proof, he tells JJ he thought about taking dilaudid again. I think he was off by in birth and death, season3, because hotch tells emily that one of his team members MAY have HAD a serious drug problem and he didnt report it. From all of this I can say by season 4 he was off drugs.

Trying to climb up is near impossible, and trying to step onto the dirt coming down felt like stepping into quicksand, each step lodging me down and pulling me deeper. In the earlier seasons, you never knew what the UnSub looked like, just the victim and the crime, now you see their face at the beginning. I like it this way better; I'm not watching saying "That's the bad guy! No, maybe it's her!"
