  • I have CD as well..After reading the comments and seeing the video. It helps me to see im not the only one that as it. It took me 3 hospitals to find out what it was. At my worst state i couldnt even walk or write.I find staying far away from stressful situation helps. O and the docters try to load you up full of meds. Hopeing it well help so be carefull on takeing all that stuff. Remember you know your body better then anybody. Also try to think of the good things that are going on in your life.

  • I have alot of stress in my life but I never got this !!

  • @IndigoCat17 Not never one gets Conversion Disorder

  • @IndigoCat17 And I have little stress and have battled these neuro-like spells for nearly 20 years. It's something we just don't understand completely.

  • I like your 'can of soda' analogy. Since my diagnosis, I have discovered that both of my parents have anxiety and panic disorders. My frustuation is that some people think I should be mentally capable of controlling my Conversion episodes. I feel like my 'can of soda' has exploded and I CAN'T control it. The doctors have me on many meds, but after 2 years, I'm still not finding a solution.

  • @rhondab1456 I had had CD for 5 years and still have not finding a solution to help. My CD will get better then it will go down hill agen. CD is no fun.

  • @rhondab1456 It's not like you had a bad day and due to that bad day you go home and have a pseudoseizure or shake. These events can seemingly take years to manifest into neurologica-looking symptoms. The conversion is not limited and the soda can analogy is perfect - Some can only have the can shake for a few weeks, months, maybe a year, and others might have these symptoms lifelong without any stressors or triggers.

  • @rhondab1456 I know. I had CD for 5 years now

  • thx for answering fast!... if u know anything else new we can try I will really appreciate it. Take care!

  • @piojitotorresortiz I try to respond to my comments as soon as possible. also I have tried acupuncture it helps also.

  • He is taking a antidepresing pill for treatment now recomended by the doctors there. If anybody has any comment about this is welcome or any suggestion plis, I´m really worry about him. Thank you! God bless you all!

  • @piojitotorresortiz antidepressants will help him. Also anxiety medication will help to. Going to therapy is a good idea also

  • hello! Im from Dominican Republic and my boyfriend has been diagnose with a convertion disorder couple of years ago in United States. He is, to say in a funny way, like Hulk: when he is angry or feels porwerless he usually looses conscious and starts fighting, hitting everyone he is mad at, exept girls, thats why I say is like Hulk. Then he usually fades and wakes up 15 to 20 minutes later.

  • I have been told conversion disorder is what is making me be in agonious amounts of pain 4 doctors have told me this

  • @5kater4lyfe oh

  • thank u so much for posting this!

  • @thesmiths1013 no prob

  • I have NES and Epilepsy. My NES is triggered by stressful situations, my muscles contract and shake. I don't lose conciousness. I feel very disconnected when I attack and, my speech slurs.

  • @NancyMay025 yea i know how you feel

  • What's the objective test for this disorder?

  • @TruthBeyond are you asking how do you get diagnosed

  • yeah, but its okay everything happens for a reason and I wouldn't change it for the wrold. Its awesome you are reaching out to people to teach them about CD!

  • @peacelovesammyadams aww thanks. I wanted to make this video to educate people more about CD. Also I felt very alone when I was diagnosed now I do not. I get lots of questions and comments from these videos now from people like me. I have a other channel also that will keep you up to date on my CD and health.

  • I have a conversion dissorder tooo! i've had it for 4 years

  • @plushbanana yep, this was a really good way of explaining it. I have conversions that have never been seen before so they're a little different. I have been to tons of doctors because my conversions have never been seen before or are so rare they dont know how to fix it. But God has taught me alot from it and I see it as a blessing now:)

  • @peacelovesammyadams I have been to LOTS of dr. also.

  • Hello:) I have a question for you. Is it normal for people suffering from conversion disorder to go to a psychologist? I have just heard about this disorder, and i am curious to know what can be done to cure this. I remember seeing the girl who were unable to walk and talk properly after getting the svine flu vaccine, and she got better after hyperbaric oxygen treatment, but no doctor could heal her. Maybe she had conversion disorder..? just a guess :)

  • @S37151 going to psychologist can help

  • @plushbanana thank you :)

  • @S37151 no prob

  • @spyked1 ummm I do not know

  • @plushbanana ok so u cant help... meanwhile i weaned myself off the keppra... talk about a trip and a half. i hallucinated all night... i have never seen such things in my life. i felt like i was on acid and meth at the same time. still zonked tho. I'm winging it henceforth. seeing as if its a conversion disorder, i cant actually hurt myself. If its not... FML anyway. ta for the response tho. tc and i hope u feel better.

  • @spyked1 I'm so sorry. I hope you fell better soon. take care

  • Do you always lose consciousness in conversion disorders?

  • @93VIRGY 95% of the time

  • Can you have multiple types of seizures with a conversion disorder?

  • @allegrorules yes you can

  • my wife has had what we know now as a conversion disorder for over 15 years. Over the years they have become more frequent with less cause to start these seizure episodes. Six weeks ago, for no apparent reason, had another seizure, and when she woke up, believed she was 14 with no recollection of her family at present. She has made some progress, but has been in this dissociated state since. She remains in hospital for her safety and awaits a bed for neuropsych treatment.

  • @bbbslcanada i'm sorry. i have one a week

  • yeah i take celexa 40 mg to calm my anxiety and depression and i take another pill (i was prescribed it today actually, i can't remember the name) it's .1 mg and it helps treat post traumatic stress disorder and anxiety so yeahhh

  • @helenislatina they have me on a lots of pills

  • @helenislatina they have me on a lots of pills

  • i'm 15 and i have conversion disorder

i go see a psychologist every week and a psychiatrist every month for it. conversion disorder is where you experienced a traumatic event in your past or if you are just very stressed and your brain converts the mental/emotional stress into physical stress. i experience the physical stress in my back. we thought that it was a slipped disc, but it's not. i get pains in my back to the point where i can't even walk or stand up straight.

    so yeah, hope i could

  • @helenislatina I am 17. I was diagnosed with a conversion disorder when I was 14. I did not have a traumatic events happen to me. They are not sure why I started having meetings at this age. The only thing the doctors think is my hormones are unbalanced. I see a therapist weekly and a psychiatrist who prescribed to my medication. I am on anxiety medication and a mood stabilizer. Are you on any medicine?

  • @helenislatina How did the diagnosis help cure you? What if you don't have "conversion disorder" but have something else instead?

  • @TruthBeyond there is not a cure. I do have conversion disorder

  • @plushbanana Sounds like a wastebasket diagnosis to me. Do you have trouble sleeping?

  • @TruthBeyond yes i have trouble sleeping but I have sleep apnea

  • Hi plush, i have a conversion disorder but the thing is my symptoms never stop, basically i cant swallow properly cant yawn and have a permenant headache and my head is tilted to the right with dystonia muscle seizure on my right side neck...i just wanted to say its good to see you on you tube and i hope one day the science gets advanced to understand its complex biological process...i dont understand why some people and mine is permanent and others have attacks of it...more funding and study!!

  • @dreamtime182 I don't get that eather. I hate having this I wish the dr.s can fix it too. But all we can do for now is hang in there and pray

  • how did you get diagnosed with conversion disorder? it sounds a lot like what i have got but i am trying to get a diagnosis, at the moment no one will tell me anything, i have seizures which are exactly like epileptic grand mal (tonic clonic) seizures and include loss of bladder/bowel control i also suffer from severe pain in various areas of my body, primarily my back/shoulders/arm/wrist/neck whenever i am even slightly stressed. thank you for posting this informative post take care :-) x

  • @TheAngelis26 I went to a nerologist to rule out a true seizure disorder. Also I see a phycsiolgist (they can also so help diagnose a Conversion Disorder).

  • Very informative. I had no idea this happens. My son is autistic and has epilepsy, so this is good to know, since I hadn't experience with this type of non actual seizure activity. You are a beautiful, articulate girl. Blessing to you.

  • @kgaccount Not many people know about this. thats why I made this video. I am glad that u lernd from this. thank you
