Where is he from? I guess there are a lot of mistakes, but anyway it sounds good. In my opinion, for playing latin-american music, you should be latin-american to get in the feeling of playing it. If not, try to listen a lot of music to get into the tempos, styles and traditional rythms. I say it because im Guatemalan, and I do know something about latin-american music. That could help to improve your playing. Greetings!
Truly good work--I enjoyed it. Still, to my ears the Chet Atkins version towers far above all others, which is not at all a critique of your playing or interpretation--simply a comment in passing. As you were then, I'll keep watching, listening and (yes) learning.
Nick -- I love your articulation and interpretation. It's nice to hear a guitarist bring Morel to life and not just parrot back notes on a page. Well done.
Yes as a matter of fact I do, I agree it is a wonderful performance, even when I play I and talk guitar people I am aware I can come off harsh and overcritical, but when I play I more then welcome people to criticize me and tell me how I can improve, teacher, student, or just someone sitting in the room who knows nothing about music.
I do appeciate you noticing the lack of dynamic contrast and I will try your advice. I think dynamics could always be more in a piece like Misionera. Your critiques are always welcome and appreciated. Thank you for watching my video.
he can't play this. he shouldn't perform it in public until he practises it enough. it's out of rythm and makes a lot of mistakes. sounds quite pathetic.
Your criticism of Nick is harsh and unwarranted. First of all this is not a performance (it is a classroom video). Yes, there are few mistakes, but most people accept that he is an excellent player and enjoy this clip. I hesitate to ask, but do you play guitar?
Feel free to post something better. Nick is an amazing guitarist and sounds great in a concert hall. This video was recorded during a private lesson not in the concert hall. I've heard him perform this peice flawless everytime he "performs" it.
omfg why is every1 complaining? he did a good job.. yes its not perfect but thats ok its the effort that counts

Dear Sitas. It's a bit like saying you shouldn't write anything if you can't spell.

Why Morel?
The piece was composed by Bustamante for piano.
Morel arramged it for guitar.

Great interpretation of an absolute wonderful composition
Will try to include it in my repertoire (although I doubt I can master the tremolo part)
All the power to you!

Bought this piece from the State and found the rhythm is little difficult to play. right fingering is little confusing.

My opion sometime tremolo should be an enven to epress tone of music. Like in Flamenco using pmia and P should touch thicker

I love the way he plays the rasgueado bit. The chords and the strumming sounds very south american.I am trying very hard to get that sound.

So true, Chets' version is the best. I'd like to hear Tommy Emmanuel play this.

It seems that the piece was not composed by Jorge Morel; it belongs to Fernando Bustamante, however the arranged was made by Morel. Nice work!

Hm-m, my earlier reply was intended for Sitas. Constructive (and realistic) comments by Pixiam are welcome.

You cannot hear the dynamics because the camera microphone compresses the sound.
