Just watched this movie for the first time ever, such an odd film but it's scenes like this that make it hauntingly stick in your mind. The color, imagery, music, mood and close up look and feel of the characters reactions. Every precise camera angle... really amazing stuff. The turn around camera shot showing the horse buggie in the stable is pretty chilling.
I love the use of Wagner in this.
