It is some kind of crap that EA did with the holy Westwood series. the game freaking lost its original mood and there isn't THAT sense of action there is in RA2. And i freaking hate those graphics :C

So you are judging the game by its graphics and I bet you haven't played some nice multiplayer matches.

The gameplay of Red Alert 3 is totally amazing specially online of course. However the singleplayer campaign missions does not give you the feeling that we used to get from Ra2 campaigns.

The game is not just a remake of Ra2 it features a lot of new things and the pace is slower to match the realistic pace unlike in Ra2 you would see tanks speeding like hell across the field.

yea, yuri and his mind-controlling added a whole new depth to the gameplay, requiring you to change your strategies and try new ones. the entrance of japan did just the opposite. it made red alert 3 hard to play seriously and takes away from the whole "cold war" feel from it.

Red alert 2 and expansion was trully both perfect and flawless, a rare masterpiece indeed. 3 was the most ridiculous sh*t i have ever played. did you read my comment correctly? i didn't say that the USSR is here, ruling half of Asia and Half of Europe. i said the USA didn't win the Cold War, because it wasn't the USA's politics that defeated the USSR, it was the USSR's own political and economical mistakes that led to it's destruction and to the end of the Cold War.

in your point of view, yes, you could say it's a US victory, a bitter victory... military speaking, at the time of the USSR's collapse, the soviet military was superior to the USA's. the soviets were winning the arms race.

politically and economically, you could say the USA has won. the soviet put so much focus on their military that they fucked up everything else.

well, I take issue with the USSR winning the ARMS race, especially since it became obvious towards the end that the US could afford the arms race and the USSR could not. As far as I know, though, the overall military technology was pretty much symmetrical between both sides, and the actual fighting that took place (the proxy wars, eg. vietnam, afghanistan, coups, etc.) never used the full technological capability of either side.

I would agree it was bitter. I don't think most people realize how much fighting actually took place during the Cold War. The history books give the impression that the Cold war didn't involve much fighting. However, there was alot of fighting, proxy wars, propping up dictatorships, topping governments. The cold war isn't as cold as most people here in the US think.
