  • I miss this show SO MUCH!

    Fuck Syfy!

  • Join the Caprica for season 2! community on facebook :) If you want a continuation of the series, sign the petition on GoPetition . com, as well!

  • This particular video and scenes were good but I never liked Caprica. It had NONE of the magic BSG had and there were way too many virtual scenes.

    Not surprised it was cancelled.

  • So if Zoe was one of the skin jobs then, there Were actually 13 cylon models and she must have been the first (human look alike) cylon. So then that means that the humans(Daniel and Amanda Graystone) Created one of the most important type of software to cylons.

  • @starbuck8757nc Well, you can say that the Graystones are the moma, and papa of the Cylons.

  • ..id do it with a synthetic,

~as long as I thought they sought permanent lasting healthy pair bond

=and of course were capable (more than just the opposite parts)

  • I feel like this was a perfect ending to introduce Battlestar.

I sorta wish though, that they could have played out the roles of the cylons at the beginning of their existence with humans.

  • It Made Me Cry When I Watched That Last Bit On Netflix And Realized That It Was The End.

  • It's a shame that the people who own/run TV in the USA are so impatient, this looks really good, it's sad that it was only given one season and even that was cut short on it's original run. we need more sci-fi on TV, there's simply not enough.

  • Love the show, love this scene, literally sent shivers down my spine, and CAPRICA SEASON 2 IS COMING OUT!!!

  • @skooz0able Um, sorry to tell you, but the show has been cancelled. A new show is dues to out, called "Blood and Chrome". My understanding is that this new show will cover the time between Caprica, and the Battlestar Galactica that we know.

  • i have a queston josef adama in caprica is bill adama from bsg's father right well in caprica josef has a son caled william adama ok now i thought that this boy was a young bill adama but he cant be because josef's son dies at the end ?? any thoughts maybe josef had another son later on and called him willam too

  • @HDlfc10 Yes, my understanding is that Josef has another son, and it is custom for him to name the son after the older brother who was killed. So it's the second son who is the William Adama that we see in BSG. That can explain why our William is on tough sob.

  • I am a big BSG fan, I enjoyed all 4 seasons and movies from the show, but once it was over I was reluctant to watch Caprica: I was afraid the prequel would mess up all that had been established in Galactica, and I also heard it was a pretty slow show. And now it's been cancelled.

Despite all that, would you reccomend me to watch Caprica? Is it really worth it?

  • @Calick My opinion is that Caprica, pretty much stands on it's own. The only real connection to BSG, is the concept of Cylons, and these Cylons are only robots, and are nothing like the BSG ones in behaviour. As the show title implies, its more about Caprica than anything else. Although it was slow as a weekly series, if you watch all the shows, back-to-back, of course the story progress at whatever rate you want. Fast forward what you don't like. You have the power in your hands.

  • @Calick go for it man, for me and my sis, it was worth watching all the way through at lest once....the only thing that kept me going was the whole Zoey thing switching from Virtual World to her real life Cylon body was pretty cool concept, I just wish they would conclude the series properly somehow, either in 1 last movie/episode or make its true ending the beginning of BSG Blood Chrome coming in October!

  • @StuartTheGamerNerd Thanks! I really hope Blood and Chrome wraps up some aspects from Caprica. I think I'll give this show a try :D

  • @Calick you should, what other way can you possibly return to its amazing universe, besides the BSG Online game they have now XD

  • @Calick Caprica - my rate 9/10. It is story about how sylons become what they were in BSG. And it's superior. I reccomend Caprica to anyone who like the way BSG treat the relation between sylons and humans. That intelligent mix of philosophy, psychology, sociology in packed in a good plot.

  • @Calick I was amazed how much I liked it. I was skeptical at first.

  • I love the finale. it's a shame it didn't continue. I would've loved to have seen how they took the next steps to making humanoid Cylons, until they evolved to the almost indistinguishable models that were in the new BSG series. And what happened to Zoe...

  • @LilaKooks The problem with Caprica was that it was too slow in plot development, and there was not enough Cylon action. I think Blood and Chrome should correct that situation when it comes out.

  • @Nomoreidsleft btw, what is this score they're using in this part? I love it!

  • @LilaKooks It's The Differently Sentient by Bear McCreary. The full version hasn't been released yet, but he says that it should be out by late this year or early next year.

  • Oh, the ultimate showdown, Sister Clarice vs Maryann the Maenad.

  • @13Amazons From the final montage, I'd say that Clarice will get Zoe to be one of her followers. The showdown will most likely be between Lacy and Zoe over who will control the Cylons. It comes to whether they will obey Cylon Serial #0 (Zoe) over Lacy.

  • I dont get it, there were only 12 Cylon models (13 if counting number 7, who was killed by number 1). And the Cylons previously said they tried to create human models but only managed to create the hybrids. So who is that girl at 2:07?

  • @TheLahness She's the first humanoid cylon, but that's a good point.

  • @lolguymilne I don't think Zoey planned to blow herself up, and hope that her father figures out how to create an avatar of herself, and then instigate a cylon rebellion.

  • I wish I hadn't seen this. Now I miss the show even more.

  • I'd hoped that caprica had at least 3 seasons

  • @CrypticWatcher I'd hoped it would have at least 7. :)

    :(

  • @SDKfilmproduction or that

  • 1st rule of robotics:Don't make things stronger, faster, or smarter than you.

    2nd rule: See 1st rule.

  • @heartlessangel7 What's the point of robots if we can't make then do more than we can? We don't need robots with free will. But without free will, they can be ordered to kill us. Asimov's Laws make the most sense.

  • @Nomoreidsleft And IRL, Asimov's Laws are a tool of literary fiction, good as a starting point of stories. IRL, we want & build (for a long time) robots which ignore them... (and in what style: ICBMs, the most destructive weapons in existence, are also essentially robots; nobody wants weapons which question orders)

  • @heartlessangel7 No, the 3 laws of robotics are:

1.-A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.

2.-A robot must obey any orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.

3.-A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

Also, what you typed as the first rule, do you mean harder, Better, Faster, Stronger by Daft Punk?

  • @fabianhjr Since when? Cylons are robots that pretty much hurt any human that get in their way.

  • @6235river Also, the cylons wouldn't be that bad without the help of the Adamas/Greystones? They all comitted horrible acts in the name of rescuing their daughters, shit hit the fan then Clarice comes around kidnapping a the friend of Zoe. Then trying to kill a lot of living beings in the name of Apotheosis/Heaven for All. Then as this Coming Soon depicts she goes as far as shaping the cylons to perform the horrible acts in BSG. The Cylons only need some love. <3 :P

  • I'm reminded of Futurama's " Church of Robotology " in this scene. Just unavoidable. ;~)

  • @knoxvilleguy2 Yes, but given that they can resurrect indefinitely, there's not Robot Hell.

  • @Nomoreidsleft - True that. I wonder if there was a distance limit for a Resurrection Ship to receive a personality uplink / transfer later in BSG ?

  • by my recomendation, some friends of mine watched caprica then bsg. their reactions: best series ever. and my little cousin will be blessed with the possibility of watching caprica, then blood and chrome, then bsg (she's a little young yet, gnna wait a couple + years even though she asked me already), fk u scifi

  • -_- Death to Syfy? They pretty much cancelled all their good shows...

  • @Clonetrooper111 It's all werewolves and vampires now. No more new frontiers.

  • @Nomoreidsleft - It IS turning into supernatural & fantasy series & movies, even though some of them are at least watchable. I would like to see more " hard science - fiction " ( BSG, Caprica, Firefly, Babylon 5, Stargate SG1 & SGA, & some Andromeda & Farscape reruns ) Hell, " Quantum Leap " & even " Sliders " w / go down well.

  • @Nomoreidsleft - Werewolves, vampires, demons, ghosts, Arthurian mythology, reality shows supposedly centered around science - fiction & fantasy, AND Wrestling. I can remember when it was all about a little thing called " SCIENCE FICTION ", not psychics, paranormal investigators & ghost hunters. They even covered some of the Voyager flyby of Neptune, if I remember correctly. Fantasy has its place, but the channel started out as frakking " Sci - Fi ".

  • I was see this seasons i didnt see it yet?

  • The BSG/Caprica series make more sense than the garbage pumped out by the church.

  • This is seriously one of the most amazing endings to a series, as short lived as it was. The music, the speech, just damn.

  • I hate the fact that crap like star trek voyager and stargate universe manage to hang around when shows with real potential like this get shot in the head.

I think the prevailing theory on that is that all TV executive happen to be number one model cylons.

  • @KatjaKat01, look at the history of papacy and tell me with a straight face they were exclusively "all that religious" / non-pragmatist (can you even say that about the previous Holy Mother in Caprica, with all her machinations?)

  • @zimolag Of course, the church is all about controlling the populous. Everyone in Rome is religious, but almost no one is spiritual.

  • The best for last.

  • OMG, I get chills at the last part. Maybe it is the music though, it is really powerful.

"The children of humanity shall rise and crush the ones who first gave them life." ~Clarice

    0_o

  • @fabianhjr Yes, it seems that Clarice has an axe to grind, after loosing all her husbands, and failure of Apotheosis.

  • @Nomoreidsleft I still think the music is really powerful. What's the name of the soundtrack? Had been searching it for a while.

  • @fabianhjr Custom composed by Bear McCreary for the series. I haven't heard it anywhere else. It's great!

  • @fabianhjr If the full soundtrack gets released, you'll probably find out on Bear McCreary's blog. I don't see why it shouldn't get released, as the soundtracks Bear did for BSG and the Caprica pilot are all out there already. :)

  • Wow I didn't even realize that Lacy was the holy mother til I read your entire description. Just makes this final scene all the more perfect

  • @lovericobra It's the natural path for Lacy, when all Cylon kind obeys her command.

  • @Nomoreidsleft You think? She never seemed all that religious to me. Or maybe she just didn't like the STO's methods. I always liked Lacy, I thought she had the potential to be proper badass. But not as Holy Mother... Maybe it jars because we don't get to see how it played out and because her motives are never really clear.

  • @KatjaKat01 IMHO Lacy was the most religious of anyone on the show. Her intentions were clear at the end, she saw what she hated about the Monad Church, and sought to change it.

  • Polly Walker is awesome, the grandest actress of all. She plays so powerfully.

  • This is an extremely brave television series. Thumbs up.

  • epic

  • @Unclesamslair Yes, too bad SyFy decided to cancel Caprica, instead of Stargate Universe. I think it would have been nice to see a couple more seasons of this. After first season of SGU, I stopped watching. SyFy is making programming choices that don't seem to consider what fans want to see.

  • @Nomoreidsleft

I liked Caprica, and it is a shame they canceled it, but SGU still has a lot of potential & has improved significantly in the last few episodes (not unlike Caprica). I'd suggest you give it another chance.

  • @flerrel Really?! Did you see the one where they had a deadly mind control tick?
