I never knew about Iz when he was alive. All I can say is I'm really glad for videos, internet and youtube and of course whatever else it took for me to be able to enjoy him.
He didn't die because he ate a lot or from gluttony as some of you are suggesting. He died because of a genetic disorder. He had low thyroid and a bad metabolism. His body couldn't metabolise the food that he ate properly. I believe there was a guy like this in mexico too that weighed like 700 pounds or something.

Just thinking it's been 14 years on since we lost him...but just as quenther32 has just said, someday his grandkids will come to love Iz...so we really haven't lost him at all...
You know any adult knows they can use other words to describe how they feel. IZ was a large person, but he was kind from what I have read about him. I love his music as do many. I am happy that he had a relationship with someone who cared for him regardless of his size as I lost the love of my life because I gained from 118 to 160 due to 3 accidents and 4 surgeries. I am now back to 118, but I was told I was too fat to be loved and it hurts. Love is what matters not size.
@ljbeavers I lost the love of my life too for similar reasons. Then I found someone who did not care about size, and he died at the age of 36, a few years after the world lost Israel. I eventually got medical help for my size but still am large, I lost my best friend to the same issues that took Israel from us. I do not understand these terrible people who look at a person's physical self and cannot see anything else, cannot see the beauty of the soul. I pity them.

You know any adult knows they can use other words to describe how they feel. IZ was a large person, but he was kind from what I have read about him. I love his music as do many. I am happy that he had a relationship with someone who cared for him regardless of his size as I lost the love of my life because I gained from 118 to 160 due to 3 accidents and 4 surgeries. I am now back to 118, but I was told I was too fat to be loved and it hurts. Love is what matters not size.

@ljbeavers I lost the love of my life too for similar reasons. Then I found someone who did not care about size, and he died at the age of 36, a few years after the world lost Israel. I eventually got medical help for my size but still am large, I lost my best friend to the same issues that took Israel from us. I do not understand these terrible people who look at a person's physical self and cannot see anything else, cannot see the beauty of the soul. I pity them.

I loved this, I lost my husband 2 years ago at only 43 yo. You can see the impact that Iz' life had on her life, while he was alive, and now that he is gone. You never get over it, but you do move forward.

I haven't heard much of this guy's music, but I can definitely see the talent and respect this guy has accumulated in his life. If I ever have a career in music, I hope to be like this man. His music isn't crap, and people seem to respect him, so he seems to be something of a role-model. He's even honored by the state government!
