@timmythetimtimt It's usually best to have a camera with a directional mic. Or if you can't get one, find a camera with an external mic plugin. I once used my USB Guitar Hero mic, plugged into my laptop for better sound recording. Worked like a charm.

@andrewjohngibbs vinettes? part of it is to emulate the film look. If you think about how both the recording of film works as well as an actual film projector, it actually makes a lot of sense. But a they said, you want to be careful about how you apply it, because, as you so delicately put it, it can also look bad if done improperly.

I think that if you correct them individually, try to don't let them much diferent from the others, because if that happens, it can be a little estrange. But it also can give to your video a variety of tones and it can provoke a great vid. I don't know about what I`m talking about, I don't even speak english. PWNED

Might sound like a noob question, but I can't find the answer. I have my video completely edited in cs5 premiere pro and I want to color grade the whole thing in Color Finesse in After Effects. Do I render out a high quality version then import that into After Effects or is there an easier way to apply the same color grading to every shot? Or am I missing something?

Good video, I color grade HD video because it's god awful without some sort of control of the image, video just doesn't cut it sometimes, I also do a Slow-transfer PAL - film speed is the go 24fps from 25fps, looks better to me, great video!

In After Effects the color wheel is called Hue Offset I think and it has Color Finesse which helps grade colors.

kdenlive is a good try, it's not designed specifically for color grading, but it's an excellent editing software, and it comes with a colour grading feature. And like so many Linux programs, it's free.

@RyTrombs While Movie Maker isn't great, there are ways to do this. The one that I find works best is to just go to "Visual Effects" on the top, (it's a tab), and select what you're looking for. That's for Windows LIVE Movie Maker. Old movie maker.... well... I'm not really in the mood for opening the thing up. And that, my friends, is a fantabulous example of how lazy I am. Hooray!
