Ugly my ass! Simply Beautiful and NO not everybody can produce a plane like this. Not every country has the brainpower, technology, and money to build a plane that is 300 millions dollars each and this advanced! Think before you say some stupid shit. If It is so easy, why don't you go to a school and design an aircraft. Let's see your design! Europe and US are the main manufacturers behind all the aviation masterpieces. They contribute the most. PERIOD!
@neilzep Ha ha you are dreaming or what. One day that bullshit you said is not gonna happen. You watch too many comedies or what! You stfu bitch and go masturbate bf you say junk on youtube. Moron...
@neilzep Germany dude Germany. Not all the Germans were supporter of the Nazi Party. Try to say "You guys are all Nazi's" in Germany now and see what happens. Trust me they hate it except a few dumbass skinheads who have no idea about what is going on around the world. Sorry as losers...
I don't see what's amazing about i? Just a fat plane with engines, everybody can build that. Now if we talk about Concorde, that's something I can appriciate, sadly it's gone.
Get my facts straight?? Really?. Is It not true that any airport that wants the A380 to service it, has to build a brand new terminal just to handle the loading and unloading of passengers. I have my facts straight...
yeah just modifications like at London Heathrow all that we needed to do was make the aircraft footprint bigger on the ramp (make the centre line bigger and expand the ramp to accomodate the large wing span) and use a special jetbridge that branched into three individual jetbridges we receive Qantas and Emirates A380's everyday now :)
First, gets your facts straight before posting. The A380 can land at any airport that a 747 can. Not to mention that the A380 which has a 15,200km maximum range beats the 747's 13,450km max range.
Not to say the 747 is better or anything, but numbers don't lie.
And why should anyone care who makes the plane? All that matters is getting to where you want to go.
The comfort oppotunities an A380 offers is better than anything Boeing has flying today.
Eventually all those 747-400's are going to needed to be replaced do you think airlines want the 1960's 747.
I think airlines will think about the A380-800, A380-700, A380-900 A380F options over the antiquated 747 former Queen of the skys (now relagated to freighter.
I doubt as the 747-400 gets older that most of the airlines would by the a380. Most airports cant even fir the thing. They may but it but probally also the 747-8 when ever it comes out or the 777 or when the A350 comes out because they are all good for long range and they will probally be able to fit em in airports =). I would really love to fly on an a380 though =)
And why do you doubt that A380 won't sell when airlines need toreplace their old 747s. What are they going to replace them with? Cessnas? I think your argument has no substance. A380 has better ecoomics than 747 or 747-8I. As you can see747-8I has only one customer (Luthansa) vs 200 A380 orders. Airbus have also said the next wave of A380 will be even lighter by atleast another two tons and that they should be able to squeeze even better economy out of it.
Still I doubt that most airlines would just by the A380 for the long haulers. A380 destinations are limited (due to size)and the 747 still has years to go. Im not a Boeing or Airbus fan btw.
Airports want the A380 to fly to them because having an A380 on your doorstep means very high landing fees for the airports. It's a sure way of generating mroe revenue. If there is a need to build facilities to support A380, airports will do it because they will make big profits.
A380 even flys to New Zealand which is where I am from to Auckland International airport.
It will be a while before all 200 ordered A380s are built and flying - about 10 years or more. What I can assure you is that airlines and airports are very good at planning for future requirements. Hense if an airline wants to fly to an airport with an A380 the airport in question will definately know years in advanced. This gives plenty of time for this development. The same thing was said when 747 came to the market, now look, 747 is common place these days.
I heard a story about one crashing during a handover trial. But it was kept secret by Airbus and the aireline taking it over. Something to do with running the engines up on the runway.
Well, as the Airbus tests are done in Toulouse which is a pretty big city, and that this aircraft is easy to recognize, (and as there is ALWAYS spotters near Airbus airport), a crash would not have been kept secret more than 1 or 2 hours.
Well I've looked in to it further. There are a few people putting posts up claiming it was a 380-600. I've found a site with photographs. On my own inspection it doesn't look like a 380. But still a stupid thing to happen!!
I believe Airbus is mostly a French company (check the list of executives and directors). The headquarter is in France, and the planes are assembled in France. Besides, the engines are British (Rolls Royce), not Germans... Germany does play an important part, but surely not central.
That is correct so not completely: Surely Toulouse is most important location of airbus, but Hamburg work nearly exactly the same many coworkers. The first leader of airbus was a German, from 1970 to 1981 Felix Kracht. Everything which to it came became between Germany and France divided: If the boss of airbus is Frenchman, from EADS the German turned around.. Many German engerneers were considerably involved in the development.
In Germany modern research is operated, and that is with crucial for good airplanes. Germany does play the important part - without Germany it would give no Airbus. Blöde english Schreiberei...
You're right. Airbus is before all a wonderful Franco-German adventure and success. I agree that Hamburg is a very important site for the assembly of the aircrafts. So is Toulouse.
PS: Ich bin nicht english! Ich bin ein Franzose (ich arbeite in Zueri. Im Juli, ziehe ich nach Freiburg um)
Boeing announced a delay to the 747-8 program, citing limited availability of engineering resources within Boeing. The first 747-8 Intercontinental passenger jet delivery moves from late 2010 to the second quarter of 2011. And the Passenger number on that craft will be a maximum of 467 passengers much less then the 550 in the current A380-800. They are now looking into developing an A380-900 starting in 2010 which could carry 650 passengers in standard configuration.
@virginianboy1012 yep they have a planned streched version of A380 the A380-900 which will hold an additional 100 people over the existing model. In an all economy class the A380-900 can accomodate 900+ people. Also Airbus are developing the all new A350 XWB which will complete against 787 and 777 aircraft.
As an American I feel some kind of patriotic loyalty to Boeing, but I think this plane is pretty cool. Like they say in the video it could make flying pretty cheap when it is full, but that is a lot of people to go down if one crashes. Of course I also hate the name "Airbus" the planes are cool, but there is NOTHING glorious, let alone glorious, about a bus, even an "airBUS"
"but that is a lot of people to go down if one crashes"
