What's far more important, however, is to consider actions, everyone's actions. When we do consider actions, we see that US-Israeli actions are far more destructive to innocent human beings than any words written by Hamas, far more destructive than any Palestinian organization, & far more destructive than any Palestinian actions.

Everyone saw the photos of the aggression that the soldiers met on board the flotilla. it's a fact that Israel proposed to transfer all the aid after inspection by land. And it did. It's also a fact that THERE IS NO humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

@rugggger Neither I nor Chomsky ever suggested that for Jews to have a country is harmful. What's harmful - exceedingly harmful for decades - is the US-backed Israeli invasions & occupations of other people's lands. And this does "bother" me a lot more than many other harmful incidents around the world because $7 million PER DAY in US taxpayer money is going towards the support of Israel's international crimes. Not only is it a waste of my money, but I frankly don't want the blood on my hands.

Israelis don't have any interest whatsoever in Gaza, which Israel never occupied, and never asked to occupy since its Independence in 48, when the Arab countries attacked Israel with the object of total destruction, with the passive support of the British government, and active support of Lieutenant-General Glubb.

@rugggger When I mentioned "other people's lands" in my last comment, I thought it was clear I meant the Occupied Territories (not Israel itself), as well as Lebanon which Israel has invaded 5 times over the past decades. (It's so clearly a lie that "Israel never occupied" Gaza that I won't comment on that further.) No reference to '48 can justify Israel's decades-old occupation of the Territories and its continual military threats (often followed by devastating action) against its neighbors.

@yrrmom Israel never occupied Gaza city. It was occupied by Egypt, though, from 48-67. In 67 Israel conquered it from Egypt (a result of another war that was forced on Israel by the surrounding Arab armies) and did build settlements in the Gaza strip,and they were removed and dismantled in 2005.

What Israel did do in Gaza for many decades is providing them with various civil services, supplying food, water ,electricity, and medical services. It still does.
