Well you should really take into account that drugs don't just give you music, it has to be in their to begin with. Think of it as opening up yourself to something you wouldn't necessarily do sober, because you either don't have the confidence or you're not looking at it the right way. That's why drugs are referred to as conscious expanding, not conscious making

drugs aren't a magic pill that gives you creativity. it's something that changes the direction of creativity that's already there.

if you gave shrooms to some idiot, he wouldn't go out and spontaneously paint a bunch of Mona Lisas. If that were the case, then potheads and shroom users everywhere would be master artists, which is obviously not the case.

With someone like Hendrix, you already have the talent - the drugs just directed his creativity into a psychedelic result.

Colin, Jonny and Phil strictly stick with alcohol. Colin even said he doesn't like the idea of being out of it because he feels strange even sober. Ed has done a lot of drugs, he even smokes weed to this day. Thom has never said anything on the subject, but I doubt he's been a clean boy. During the Kid A days he seemed to be on E constantly.

this is the first interview i've watched with colin actually speaking. everyone in the band always seem to be so laid back and calm, except of thom--he can seem a bit ADD at times :D but i find them to be perfectly normal and fun people. i don't understand all the comments about them being weird or terrible at interviews. when you have to do 30 of them, it's only soon that you'll get tired of talking about yourself and answering the same questions
