  • youtube is owned by the man now.

  • celt61 no seas malito, pasame el video con audio si? a mi me gustaba mucho esta serie!!! te lo agradecere!

  • Are you serious, audio disabled?????

  • I wish I was compter savvy enough to hack into Screw Tube and restore the audio the copyright Nazis keep deleting. The Flatt & Scruggs performance of the music, with Jerry Scoggins' vocals are the real classic version.

  • God damn motherfucking WMG. YouTube still has some decent stuff, but since Google bought them all those years ago, it pretty much marked their downfall. All these music videos and episodes of TV shows being removed, or the audio permanetly muted... Can't even get our nostalgia fixes! Bull shit...

  • BURN IN HELL WMG!!!

  • Comment removed

  • JESUS, MARY, and JOEPHE!wtf i hate u youtube!

  • YouTube probably hate the Hillbillies

  • Hey WMG's - So's your mom(s)...

  • motherfucker...

  • Youtube is the next Myspace. This is bullshit.

  • Youtube is the next Myspace. This is bullshit.

  • fuck you wmg, you suck

  • YOUTUBE is the more back wooded than the hillbillies, lol

  • This awesome TV show entered American homes in 1962, the year before JFK was assassinated. Jackie Kennedy was a total "Beverly Hillbilly" for fox-hunting and wearing furs and promoting those horribly cruel practices throughout the world. The fur-loving Princess Di was with multi-millionaire fur-trader Dodi when both were killed. Looks like animal abusers are going the way of the dodo bird. Good riddance. Heil, Animal Liberation Front! May your assassination list grow by leaps and bounds.

  • Gods damn I hate the copyright nazis.

  • I have to agree with all the commenters .... killing the audio on this is the stupidest idea on the planet. As another commenter said, having the clip intact only increases interest in the show, watching the reruns and viewing the sponsor's commercials. Then you wonder why our economy is in the toilet. Dumbass businessmen.

  • Shouldn't the copyrights include the video as well??

  • unbelievable.

  • This sucks!!

  • Mean, is all I can say, you'd think that they would want it out there, it might spark some interest and make people want to buy the dvds

  • what the shit. what is WMG going to gain by disabling this audio? this show and the music is going to die from the memory of society if we cant share it. not a huge loss tbh though.. i just wanted to put it on my fb wall as a joke xD

  • I'm going to go up to WMG and shove a fucking lawn mower up their ass.

  • wmg you fucking suck!!

  • i'm expecting to here the theme song from the beverly hillbillies BUT what do i see instead. NOTICE BY WMG GET LOST or take thiss OFF

  • this song is all mine...you can't have it..... waahhhh!!!!

  • BOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! PLAY THE FUCKING SONG YOU STUCK UP BITCHES FUCK WMG!

  • Goddamnit, this is free advertising bozos!

People might actually go looking for shows before their time based on videos like this...

  • Flatt and Scrugs have been silenced by WMG......Have a lousy Bar mitzvah and may your house be burned down on the sabbath. Dirty greedy arseholes..

  • @crocfme I hope someone pulls a Timmothy Mcveigh on WMG

  • WMG are a bunch of PRICKS

  • FUCK YOU YOUTUBE!

You are VIOLATING OUR RIGHTS! And Also your making me want to rape your daughter....google.

  • The funniest thing i saw about WMG is a band (i don't remember what band) who had its own video clip linked from YouTube on its own web site and the audio track was removed. Even an artist who have the right can't send his own clip on Youtube!!!!

  • WMG SUCKS!!!

  • hahahahaahahahaha

A theme tune with no sound, it's like the Oscars with no controversy,

or the Grammy's with no award for Eminem not being collected

or Amy Winehouse with no cocaine on her nostrils,

    or ....

  • @LazySusanFilms

Or the Oscars without billy crystol

    Oh wait...that be an improvement...

  • Oh fuck you WMG you don't even own the rights to the show or this song, I looked it up. you god damn thieves

  • no sound

  • those fuckin WMG can go fuck themselves! i agree with isthisnametook and bes25.

  • Howdy Y'all,

Listen I just found a version (probably the most recognizable version) of this song.

Here's how you can find it.

    Search "michelle66" on youtube for the following title;

The Beverly Hillbillies - opening credits with Winston verse.

That should do ya pretty good I might reckon.

    Y'all come back now Y'Heah?

  • Oh, fuck you WMG for like the thousandth time I've tried to find something so simple (like the intro to a decades old show) and you just have to slap your corporate cock against the faces of those who were simply looking for 1 minute of nostalgia only to get a pink 'notice' and no sound. Fuck you WMG. Go dive in your money pile and swim around like Scrooge McDuck then choke and die on it assholes. Please pirate WMG material as much as possible people. They deserve nothing for being this petty.

  • They are being this strict about the copyrights to The Beverly Hillbillies, they couldn't care less about copyrights, actually sounds like something Granny would strike up a feud over haha

  • Just take the whole thing off ya dumb asses

  • Leave it on ...

Shows what a bunch idiots WMG are

  • No theme? You have got to be f*cking kidding!!

  • Youtube is dying

  • Despite the missing audio, I am able to sing the song in my head with perfect synchronization to the video. Somethings you just don't forget!

  • Ohhh no!! Big brother strikes YouTube at last..! Typical when people find something good in a depression/recession then its taken away from us ....its been too good to be left alone for too long I suppose.

  • this is why im starting to hate youtube

  • Yes, once again we see how things that were originally designed for consumption by the general public, can only be consumed the way a few narrow minded people say they can.

What is wrong with allowing people to enjoy something for free. It is free advertising for the WMG and it's money hungry accountants and 'golden parachute' execs. Don't they get that? I hear this song, see the video, get nostalgic, then perhaps I go and buy DVD's? Mp3s? etc.

  • Well, there's no sound. So I guess that means we won't go and buy DVD's, MP3's, etc.

    Bravo WMG!

  • This is great loved watching that

  • YES ! Happy memories! Thanks to you and to David who shared. Bright stars and hugs..Jan and Susan. x

  • I remember this being on Telly when i was a kid, class.

  • the beverly hillbillies - from the southern missouri ozarks!! shucks, it makes me want to drawl and smoke my corn cob pipe!!! LOL

    ~david

  • Thanks for this great share,David! I remember I use to couldn't wait to get home to watch the Beverly Hillbillies, thanks for the memories!

P.S. be careful with that corn cob pipe..you could choke on it!!LOL

    BJ~ =)

  • Great send David!! I always love that show!!! Thanks!!*****Duke

  • Jed Clampett would never raise the price on his oil just to make more money... i hope

  • all i could say is ..... WIN!

  • There is also one on display in Gatlinburg, TN...

  • I need to know, what happened to the truck?

  • I saw It sold of at the Barret Jackson auction, I think its called barret jackson, but i know it was auctioned and sold.

  • Actually the original truck is on display in Branson Missouri...

  • Come and listen to a story about a man named Jed A poor mountaineer, barely kept his family fed, Then one day he was shootin at some food, And up through the ground came a bubblin' crude. Oil that is, black gold, Texas tea. Well the first thing you know ol' Jed's a millionaire, Kinfolk said Jed move away from there Said Californy is the place you ought to be So they loaded up the truck and moved to Beverly. Hills, that is. Swimmin pools, movie stars.
  • Where's Jed when you need him to find you some oil, AKA bubblin' crude, Texas Tea, black gold.

  • they said texas

  • yeah what he said

    l

    l

    l

    l

    v

  • Lol

  • This version of the opening was used from 1968-71, with the Red '68 Coronet and Miss Jane and Mr. Drysdale on the credits. They also alternately used a "short" opening during '70-71 that did not have the ballad, just the music and truck driving scene (the short version started with the Phil Silvers Washington DC episodes and continued alternately thru until the series end).

  • I just noticed another difference from the black-and-white version. In that, when Jed comes into the house, Granny is still for a few seconds and THEN starts hopping. But here, she is immediately hopping when it shows her.

  • zomg I would have never noticed lol

  • You can see a glimpse of the CBS presents this program in color. This must've been taken from an original network reel.

  • Since there is a reference to "the hills" (mountains) I would think (probably) in the mountains of Tennessee or Kentucky.

  • so in theory what state do you think they would have been living in, their shack and all that oil? Was it ever said or implied? Oklahoma?

  • Bugtussle is refered to in the show many times but there are several Bugtussles in the USA. It says in the song , "Black gold, Texas Tea". So I figured as a kid they were in Texas. Although they are from deep in the Ozarks, I have heard Arkansas, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Kentucky and even Idaho. It was in fact in Missouri.

  • I have the black and white episodes on DVD,regardless whether they are in black and white or color the show is still a classic.

  • Come and listen to the story 'bout a man named Jed. A poor mountaineer barely kept his family fed.And then one day he was shootin' at some food. And up through the ground come a bubblin' crude

(Oil, that is. Black gold. Texas Tea)

Well, the first thing you know, ole' Jed's a millionaire. The kinfolk said, "Jed, move away from their" Said, "Californy is the place you oughta be" So they loaded up their truck and they moved to beverly

(Hills, that is. Swimmin' pools. Movie Stars)

  • this is the only time i actually like banjo music.

  • ur right

  • I pointed that out to my dad when we watched his togther.

  • wait? You see granny in the rocking chair when they leave the house, but when they show them riding down the street, she's not there!! LOL. is it just me or does anybody else notice!

  • In the this version Granny has her hat on too, but in the black and white version she does NOT. Strange I thought.

  • Some of my favorite things about the theme song are:

    1. The way the oil bubbles up

    2. The way Jed's shotgun fires

    3. How granny was sitting in a rocking chair on top of the car (LOL)

    4. How in the color version, it also shows the credits for Mr. Drysdale and Mrs Jane

    5. The words

    6. The music

    7. How Jethro is driving the car when he only graduated 6th grade!

sorry to be so long in this explanation

  • I agree with you, on every point. I love this show!!!

  • it still comes on TV Land on weekdays from 5 P.M -6 P.M (Only the black and white version. The color version, i think, comes on at noon on channel twenty something

  • God damn rural purge cancelled this brilliant show!

  • My 17 yrs old son loves all these old shows,he asked me why they don't make new shows like these.Hillbilles and Sandford and Son are his favs.

  • Granny was my fav. This was a hilarious show. Thanks for the memories.

  • same here granny is basically everone in my home's favorite character

  • she's my favorite! i loved how she says "I ain't gettin outta this rocker!" then they put her and the rocker on top of their truck. ah

  • I liked Granny but her character is SO inconsistent. It always puzzled me what one minute everyone seemed scared of her when she would have an outburst, then the next minute they are dragging her around like a ragdoll and she's helpless? Would you describe her as dominant or submissive? because she TRULY goes back and forth.

  • i love this show i l like how Elly May can kick Jethro's but

  • Ack. Now Nancy Pelosi has two reasons for banning guns. First, she has no concept of the Second Amendment. And next, she'll do anything to prevent our energy independence.

  • Donna Douglas and Max Baer are the only 2 surviving Hillbillies..the rest of the cast have all passed on.

  • Not surprising considering the show began 46 years ago lol

  • this is good anyone like all in the family

  • Yes, I Love that show! I've been watching them on here!

  • Many dysfunctional shows are funny, Everybody Loves Raymond, Mama's Family, and Everybody Hates Chris to name a few.

  • Love it !

  • Move away from there? Move away from what?

  • Their old mountain home in Bug Tussle, Tennessee. (AKA Middle of Nowhere, USA.)

  • the hills ignorant fuck

  • Everything has to be in damn computer form now days for people to understamd!

  • i like this show

  • XD my dad ttries to sing this song

  • They don't make them like this anymore.
