Even so, there is the impending feeling that the whole structure might collapse in on itself the moment the vultures take flight from the roof. An excellent study in intended grandeur and the fragility it inevitably succumbs to.
From the opening shot until its close this is a splendid piece of video documentation. The time-lapsed twitching buzzard, the approach across the porch and dissolve into the interior all terrific. The music is so tense that it adds greatly to the on-edge sense that this location is fraught with perils, to which the imagery attests.
