  • buddy. the 965 is a rip off. 920 just as good. and a fuckload cheaper. would of been better to use the money u save from getting the 920 on better mb and gfx

  • Honestly, if you are going to overclock, you shoud have gone with the eVGA SLI LE or Classified, Rampage 2 Extreme (or Gene) or the Gigabyte 5 version.

Phase power means that your processor draws the same amount of power but if you are overclocking, you are stressing the system. The pp makes sure that the voltage current is stable.

Going on watching your other videos.

  • And those black cubes are called Ferrite Core Chokes. They also get rid of electromagnetic interference.

  • 16+2 phase power means around the cpu there are 16 black cubes. Those cubes manage the power for the cpu. So the more phases means the cooler each phase will run cooler. Simply because there are more phases to spread the power evenly to the cpu. And +2 means there are two phases for the Northbridge. All of this has its advantage with overclocking.

  • Thank you. This is the best answer I got so far. Most of the answers I get are "they give a much cleaner power to the CPU, thus improve overclockability" which doesn't explain anything.

    Thanks again!

  • the build is not balanced at all

the board is terrible for what you have

you need a much better board

and you dont need that much of a high end ram

and wtf do you need the extreme edition for

do you like getting ripped off?

  • ripped off? I got an amazing deal on my 965.

  • I agree your motherboard is not as good as your other parts, but you can upgrade that later. Why not have so good ram if you can?

  • If u dont mind me asking. what did u pay out the door..??

  • It was a private sale (local pickup). It cost me $200 -$250 more than a 920 D0. It was sealed in a box.

  • To your budget: You coulda got the i7 920 and OCed it to 4.2GHz and saved like $720.

  • I got a SUPER deal on the 965.

  • Nice

  • And you can OC the 965 much higher than the 920 so...
