it sounds like u have too much bass going on, mids and highs, i have my bass at 35% with mids and highs on 50% or more if im just playing to myself. ur getting a funny low end sound on the open notes

@mrgibson tubescreamers are regularly used as a boost before the amp to beef up the signal before the pre amp. I believe some ENGLs do have a built in boost but I always use a TS 9

Don't just save up for the amp only, the cab is almost even important. I've got an ENGL freball 100 + xxl pro cab and it sounds far more beefy than the peavey trough a regular celestion V30 cab.

it could just be the camera not picking the bassy open chords because when i tried to do a cover my amp had plenty of distortion but the breakdown chords sounded awful and really raspy so ya it could be that.

Try taking in to consideration that this is a video camera, which don't have too nice of mics on them. No run-of-the-mill video camera is going to have great sound quality.

@InBetrayalFL Nout wrong with the tone man! Well in my opinion anyway! plus the camera would of possibly didn't pick up the exact sound! I think too much distortion is bad and also I highlt doubt there is nout wrong with the pickups, it's an ESP/LTD deluxe! they're great guitars and never fail! :)

@AdamAffliction engl crushes peaveys my uncle owns a 5150 and like all my friends have 5150s and it has a great hi gain sound but cleans are absolute garbage where as the engls have wonderful clean and distorted sounds.

@brandon5pennies I own the Powerball and use a ltd Jon Donais 600 sig guitar and it rocks, Engls are indeed the metal amp of the age and is crushing alot of amps today, So many Bands in metalcore are going to Engl now.
