The thing is, is that the BoM contradicts the Bible. The Bible is God's Word. What satan has done is he has convinced people to form a religion to agree to what they want to believe. You don't get to pick and choose what you want to believe in the Bible. You either believe its all false or all true. Jesus is right for everybody. Muslims, mormons, pentocostals, catholics and more.....they all need Jesus to save them. But they have gone astray from the truth. And thats the problem with religions.

We LDS members dont talk about other churches, instead other churches talk about us. Some members say that they are Mormons but don't follow the church standards. THE CHURCH IS PERFECT NOT THE MEMBERS. If you are looking for the truth just Pray with your heart then read the book the mormon and it will change your life.

LDS church does use the bible but its a religion of works and what that is saying is that Christ sacrifice wasnt enough and its all about man trying to make it to where God owes them the gift of salvation because of there works, which is every other religion in the world except christianity, proclaiming God as an exalted man,and basing a religion based on human achievment goes agains everything in the bible,doesnt bring glory to God,which only reason we are here, Gods Glory

justin, you are wrong. We don't teach that at ALL. everything in our religion points to Christ and His divine purposes. You really should learn about our religion from us, rather than our critics :)

Our works don't save us--but Christ has commanded we perform them...which is good enough for me. One work you might be familiar with is baptism...is it wrong to preach baptism? Baptism is a work! If you are baptized, does that work save you or your obedience to God's commandments?

Good point on most Christian religions using more than just the Bible. Hymnals, pamphlets, dare I mention The Purpose Driven Life etc. Kudos on that observation.

As for the negative feedback, I feel for you. My hubby gets strange/negative comments often from people who know his wife is Mormon (he is agnostic by the way, not LDS)

The minor details do not matter. As long as you are a Chistian, you are saved. Jews and Muslums also are probably saved for worshiping the same God, just in a different ways. Other people with similar morals like Budhists and Hindus are also saved.

People should join the sect of Christianity that most fits their beliefs. STOP PREACHING HATE TWARDS OTHER CHRISTIANS. This only can occomplish scaring them away from the faith, which is just as bad as converting someone away from the faith

I learned something neat about mormonism recently. Joseph Smith believed that there are men living on the moon that dress like quackers and live to be a 1000 years old. This came out of a mormon publication in the 1800s.

LDS know he is human and capable of error and they do NOT accept the journals as doctrinal. So its not like they read that and say OHHHH there are, they read it and know ok, so this is one of those things thats probably wrong. LOL

OH and the LDS church did once endorsed the view that Joseph Smith taught this, about the moon being inhabited, its is vehemently contested by LDS now. So that tells me they can know and error, learn from it and move on.

@atcnick another note to you. Just because its in print does not make it true. You should know that considering how many hollywood rumors turn out to be unfounded. People are fallible, or does that not apply to mormons as well. You should research what some of the prophets of the Bible said and then changed later, the Bible has a lot of contradictions in it ;)

Go to a calvary chapel, please. You haven't gone to every church. Just visit a calvary chapel talk to a pastor, and just do more research on what you are doing. If anything you need to understand the LDS church doctrine, theology, and history. Talk to more people, get informed, the Bible is not corrupt. Look into this.

Book of mormon and the D&Cs are not the same as the "pamphlets" that other churches use. The pamphlets reference the bible. The mormon books are labeled as being scripture, meaning holy sacred christian texts. Is there something wrong with the original scripture that we needed to add to it? Did God err? with his original version?

Of course God did not err, and neither did his prophets. Unfortunately, the many versions of Bible we have today are translations, no matter which language you read them in. With any translation can come errors, archaic vocabulary, introduction of personal opinion, etc. If you don't believe me, study a language for the next 10 years and at the end of that period translate a book. When you're done, try to translate the Bible.

I sat in a Catholic man's home once and his Bible contained more books than mine because his was a special "preacher's edition" with additional apocryphal literature. These weren't commentaries. These were additional books, as in his table of contents were different than mine.

The reasons people try to prove one religeon as wrong, and one as right is because in most cases, people care where you end up after you die. Most evangelists want you, or whoever they're preaching to to not end up in hell, or wherever they choose to believe.

I know of African Americans that feel that mormons are racist. I never have been...nor have my "mormon" friends. I wondered if people feel that way because of its demographics?? salt lake has a pretty diverse ethnic pop. with asian, hispanic and polynesian.

I think you're correct. I think people just seem to be so hateful I can see being yelled at or getting persecuted for making an incorrect statement, or maybe even an opinion they disagree with. However, just being a certain religion and getting told how wrong I am for not saying anything but maybe, "I'm non-denominational". I've had my neighbor tell me I was not Christian because I didn't go to church.

i even have a friend that has told me that he looks up to me for choosing to go on a mission. and he wishes he would have lived differently so he could go. but even though he has changed his lifestyle, the people in his ward just dont accept him. so even when he tries to change he is just rejected, but he is out of his old lifestyle, i think not only people out of the church need to be more accepting, but people in the church need to stop being so judgmental of others.
