  • Wow they are fake all they are bands with a sticker inside y would u ever bye this stupid bracelet

  • Any long term practitioner of Aiki-Jujitsu or Aikido knows the bodies movement is based on physics. They change the angle of motion to fool you. He pulls down and slightly you backwards to show how off balance you are. Then with the bracelet instead of angling it back they go straight down showing how you changed. Naturally your going to not fall backward when the angle is applied straight downward.

  • arguement below me

  • i've tried these things and i didnt feel a thing , but also i tried the "chi pendant" or biodesk thing, a friend of mine had it and i didnt know what it is , he tried it on me without telling me what its supposed to do and i tried it on another friend , and its real , if it weren't so fucking expensive i'd buy it

  • huh this does make good sense. I never believed that these worked but didn't know how to prove it too people but the whole idea of your brain being a incredible tool and the man who lifted the car for the sake of the girls life is all true. For example, when your life is in grave danger your senses increase. If there's a house on fire and you are near death, your body will react to this and I will make you faster so you can run out to safety in order to survive.

  • lol the bands are fake i work at one of those places and we change the ways we push down on your shoulders, and wearing one for a day im still clumsy and low on energy

  • @there544

I did searches on negative ions improving brain function and only found studies by people trying to make money, no independent studies which are all that matter

  • there has been actual studies where negative ions improve brain functionality and better your well being. this balancing stunt may be a scan but the fact that negative ions effect you in a positive way is true. not in some sum test, but general well being. ever feel relaxed by a waterfall? its the negative ions emitting from crashing water.

  • @there544 If the waterfall "emitted negative ions"... then the water would end up positively charged, and attract the negative ions back into the water.

Really, this stuff is trivially simple. And... it doesn't work. As has been shown. Multiple times. Again & again & again.

  • @brdavis5 the negative ions are still in the air for a limited time. and if the bracelet fucking works for the person, leave them the fck alone if they are happy about it. stop proving ppl wrong (goes for everyone reading this) let us have our benefits. for me i dunno myb its bs myb not. all i know is that it has helped with my sleeping greatly. placebo or no fucking placebo effect, it works for me.

  • @there544 You seem to miss the point. The reported results are not supported by evidence - period. The mechanism (for both "negative ions by waterfalls" and the Power Balance scam) are demonstrably wrong... as a little thought shows. A placebo effect is fine... but you're encouraging people to pay $60 for a rubber band to function as a placebo. If you want a placebo... use a 3 cent rubber band and cast spells over it. It will be precisely as effective... and far, far cheaper. Reality - it works.

  • @brdavis5 go fuck yourself buddy and do some research on negative ions and energy bands that really work. your probably some teenager that doesn't know shit and is going on speculations

  • @there544 I've done research on it. As well as personal tests (they can be done by gradeschoolers for science fairs, it's an easy bunch of tests to run). As to me personally... I'm not a teenager. I'm a 43-year-old with a PhD in physics from University of Michigan, & I teach Astronomy & critical thinking at another university. The neat thing is that my background, and yours, aren't relevant - just do a controlled double-blind test.

    They Don't Work.

    Period.

  • @brdavis5 lol ur one Dum fuck then. you believe they are going to fail so they won't work for u. i have also done a personal test with a negative ion reader and proves that the bracelets have negative ions in them. the second test was done on a number of ppl with negative ions and they're, mood, well, being and general overall feeling. (not some stupid balance test, yes i agree the balance tests r stupid) but not how negative ions effect you.

  • @there544 "lol ur one Dum fuck then"... I must admit I had a slight giggle at someone commenting on my intelligence in this fashion.

You mention a "negative ion reader" - I'm unfamiliar with any instrument of this type. Would you happen to know what the technical name of it was? What the reading was, and what the reading was at different distances from the object?

  • @there544 As to the 2nd test... that sounds wonderful. What was the size of the test group? What about the control group? How was the control group done? What were the criterion for the various effects?

  • @brdavis5 the people doing the tests did not know what they testing and the majority of the people reported being more comfortable and relaxed in the presence of negative ions, a few reported have the will to move around more and not be as tired as they were when they came in.

They work ON CERTAIN PPL ( some ppl reported no change during the tests)

    period.

  • @there544 "They work ON CERTAIN PPL" Yes. In the same way that colds resolve with time, some cancers spontaneously resolve, and that no matter how astronomical the odds are against somebody winning a lottery are... there are still winners. In any group that you asked you would expect roughly half the people to report an improvement of one criterion. By using multiple criterions (mood, well being, general feeling, energy) you drastically increase your hits. Again... this is REALLY basic.

  • @brdavis5 wow i really got to you. I'm not going to waste my time. I can't change what you believe. No matter what I tell or prove to you. have a nice day.

  • @there544 Hmm... I'm not sure if it's accurate to say "you got to me". After all, I'm not the one who was using swearing or belittling to try to make my position appear stronger. I simple asked for evidence, which you failed to provide.

You're correct; beliefs can rarely be changed by evidence. This may explain why you find my requests for evidence so irritating. But I'm not doing this to "change your belief". I was doing it to demonstrate the irrational way in which some beliefs are supported.

  • @brdavis5 you even said yourself why I didn't give evidence, because it is useless towards you. and I'm not going to waste my time writing paragraph after paragraph to someone I don't know on youtube, and I'm also not gonna waste my time trying to convince a single person. And why spoil someones well being by telling them they are wrong, maybe they are and maybe not, but the band defiantly effects those people and you telling them otherwise can be hurtful. ( True or not)

  • @there544 "you even said yourself why I didn't give evidence, because it is useless towards you". Actually... you are the one using the term 'belief'. All I have asked for is evidence. And yes, a preponderance of evidence *does*, in fact, change my position on an issue... that's exactly how science works. I was pointing out that since you keep using the term 'belief', I doubt evidence will change *your* position... but it still may others reading this.

  • @there544 "why spoil someones well being by telling them..." the truth? Because, in the end... reality wins. Truth is what works. A polite fiction may feel harmless, or even good... but by concealing the way the world actually works, it ends up making reality harder to determine. And not understanding the reality in which you live... eventually brings problems. Look at vaccine denial as just one example.

  • @brdavis5 by me saying these bands work, or negative ions in general is not hurting anyone. Im just telling people they should try it. if it doesn't work on you or anyone else don't wear them. But weather is negative ions or a placebo effect It defiantly works with people i talked to and has helped in a variety of ways.(including myself, although the only effect it did for me was improve my sleeping and sleeping patterns)

  • @there544 "by me saying these bands work, or negative ions in general is not hurting anyone". First... it may. By encouraging people to think that a problem can be solved in this way, they may wait longer (and in some cases too long) to get proper help. Second... if you really feel that you saying these things "is not hurting anyone", then why would you take offense to me doing exactly the same thing... and encouraging evidence & reason over simple belief?

  • @brdavis5 Im not giving anymore in depth replies. I'm not gonna waste my time. Go play with your legos. I have better things to do.

  • @there544 That's OK, I understand. But thank you for providing a discussion, and allowing both of our positions to be clearly, publicly displayed. I will go play with my LEGO actually, I have some commissions that could use some work (as well as some bta testing of sensor to do). Have a good day!

  • @brdavis5 yes good! and cool legos I checked out your channel.

  • @there544 Thanks. It's sometimes fun to "play" :)

  • Hey, I have a Bank Of Montreal mastercard credit card with a 'haologram' on it and wow, can I spend like 'superwoman'!

  • watch the dontbefooledbyscams video explains everything

  • They got sued for stateing that it works now they have to make adds without saying it actualy works

  • You're going to listen to some prick from the Austrailian Skeptics Society?!?! wtdf~??! OBVIOUSLY!!!!!! This is fuckin stupid, the news is full of shit. It's 2011 and people are still listening to this nonesense. I think i might go live on my own somewhere on some god forsaken island. Anything to get away from this constant bombardment.

  • You gotta try them! i wear 100 of them and now i can fly! I don't even need to eat or drink! and walls? I can just walk right through them! KA POW!

  • @4000Cupcakes wow... XD

  • Finally.. but so bad, there is MUCH more of these morons on the world..

  • That six year old thing is bullshit. There have been cases where a man threw a boulder off of his chest that weighed more than half a ton. Not because of some idiotic bracelet but because if he didn't he was going to die. In an emergency your body will fire all your muscles at once because normally we use a much smaller percentage to do daily activities. If that guy wanted to lift another car try putting a kid underneath it and see what happens.

  • It's not necessarily magnetic energy, it's frequency based energy. I wear Phiten necklace and over the past year, I have most definitely noticed positive results. Let there be naysayers, try it and most of you will not be disappointed. Remember, ten years from today what we believe to be true will be negated with the "latest findings". I wasn't put on earth to live my life by clinical studies. I've tried similar products and found they work for me.

  • @Bosiemuff AAAAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAA

  • @Bosiemuff I, for one, am glad that there are "naysayers". The company is making claims for their product. It's only right to let people know before they shell out their cash for something like this that the evidence shows it doesn't work.

  • @Bosiemuff sorry but.. um.. was reading what they say 'the basis of the product in physics' and um.. you got badly pranked, because their theories not they're not even working but if they'd work it would make the universe a one hell of a place to live :) If you'd like I'll be happy to explain!

  • @Bosiemuff

"It's not necessarily magnetic energy, it's frequency based energy"

    Explain
