Take a look at the Black Panther PArty. The works that Iota Phi Theta played include numerous sit-ins a host of community outreach and marches. This organization played a more active role in the North versus where the Southern States were receiving more attention. Also Iota Phi Theta made the NPHC the Divine Nine. Do your research, they were asked to become a part of the NPHC. And this is not a popularity contest, its a devotion to service of mankind.

1) The civil rights act was first sign in 1964, the fraternity was founded in 1963, can you name some of the roles they played which made an impact that the other Fraternities/ Sororities haven't already done?

2) I can't find or know any prominent members of this organizations, do you know of any?

And contrary to what you write these elitist divisive groups did not play a role in anything. it was the individual devotion to a collective movement that catapulted the Civil Rights movements across this nation. You obviously must be delinquent in your ability to do research or else you would have found our international webpage which would have given you that info. But, that shows that some folk are only worried about names and not service. We are less concerned with who's popular as much as we are with who's working for the frat, for their community, for mankind. Thats whats prominent!

@BobbyWhalentino many of our chapters have won awards and recognitions for service, citizenship and academics; not sure if that matters to you as much as "prominent member" (which we also have) Fraternities are built on service & it's sad that too often people lose focus of that purpose. As a matter of fact they played a vital role in ensuring that you have the rights of any other american citizen. They were very active in the civil rights movement. I suggest you do your research.
