  • Hahaha cutest ending of all time!!

  • So they can aim at the ball.... but not at the balls :D

  • I am struggling to take quality slr photos of a mannequin head, focusing on its wig. I have no specialist equipment. Should I use your product photography advice, or your home studio portrait video? Or do you have a video for shooting hair? The mannequins head may be too big to fit in one of those product light boxes.

  • I used to take photos but then I took a plastic ball in the knee :)

  • @DylanGamer98 I see what you did there ;) ahahahah nice one

  • @DylanGamer98 9gag!

  • @lostanddumbfounded True true! I belive you

  • what camera are u using?

  • @jamdebbie it's a canon 350D and a 17-85mm f3.5-5.6 IS

  • u r good!

  • Imagine if you accidentally got a cricket ball in with that lot! :'(

  • u r the best

  • @MrSvSa hmmm, i don't think a "pedo" would broadcast his "pedo" techniques on youtube. only a sick mind (like yours) would go to that place over an innocent photo shoot that helps others photography young subjects.

  • Gavin how the rule would produce PV on Nikon cameras? Setting is gone ...

  • hi..... i love uuuu ur the best teacher.. well i was wondering can i do that too with the nikon D3100 and what about the water drop.??

  • hi iv just started out in photography copied your idea with my little nephew and it was fantastic i got some wonderful photos (which his mam has actually framed for her wall) and my nephew enjoyed it too :) the pictures are so much better than the same old fake smile thankyou :)

  • pedo !

  • you mention that you will edit the background to make it clean white in the computer, I can't find in any of your videos how to fix the background in the computer, please help

  • @sk8terlad97 Idiot much?

  • Thanks for the video, saw it a month or so back tried the ideas with my kids, however using mega blocks not balls, And got some good results.

  • @Shep5856 Those had to hurt. Got a huge band-aid over your head?

  • How did you edit the creases out?

  • great video and channel, thanks

  • hey this is cool check out my new blog on trick photography: wagnerphotography1.blogspot.com

  • Gavin, I'm thinking of getting a Canon EOS 1000D.

Would you recommend this to a beginner?

  • I usually never comment anything on YT, but after watching a number of your videos and seeing how great you interact with that model while using affordable equipment to take really great shots... well... what can I say, you're brilliant.

Thanks a ton for the time you spend making those videos; greatly appreciated!

  • Thanks for the tips.

I'm 13 and I've been into photography as a hobby for a year (when I was 12) and as well as photoshopping.

  • Hilarious video of you. Thanks.

  • thumbs up from Russia

  • I'd rather just do it with burst shots instead of trying to take one each time she throws :) PEACE

  • Nice lesson

  • That girl had a jolly time with your balls.

  • I love your videos. You make them so people under stand what you are talking about. I have seen loads of videos and your are the best up to now.iv learned loads already.

  • Can i see the photos?

  • @RobDesigns and @notatrashpicker. I suspect that it is the Canon EOS350D - Was the 550D actually available in December 2007 (when the Video was created)?

  • It would have been nice to have seen a few of the photos taken with and without flash!!

  • Nive to have seen a 'good' few photos!!

  • Thanks!

    Portray a very modest

  • You are funn and sweet man.

    Violeta

  • you are awesome!!!!keep it up..im learning alot!^_^

  • which camera are you using , it looks like my canon eos 550d

  • @RobDesigns are you stupid? 550D doesnt have two seperate LCD screens ----550D has 1 3.0'' screen

  • @notatrashpicker i musnt have noticed two screens on his camera then.

  • Gavin these are great vids you've posted.. learned alot. I noticed you use CS4, have you used Corel Pro photo shop x2?

  • why not using a fill flash?

  • Thanks Gavin for all your tips and ideas. Love them!!!! Just one thing for those who are asking. Roll the fabric rather than fold it, you will have wrinkles but not harsh creases, creating a nice background. No need to iron or Photoshop.

  • Again...thank you Gavin ! Massive help to another one of my problems. You ve become my first stop for any queries I have.

  • lol no way I'd let kids throw junk at me while im shooting them - little plastic balls can hurt the gear, too - and don't forget the family jewels

  • thank you for your video workshops, they got me interested in studio photography so much that i just ordered my first studio flash kit, cant wait to try out all the techniques. you can explain things in such a simple way even i can understand them :)

  • good idea, you are a very simphatic person. Thanks!

  • this is great!!!!!

  • Haha that's looks like fun, nice video!. Wouldn't it be quicker just to iron the sheet first :P

  • how do u take all the wrinkles of the sheet?

  • omg thanks sooo much

  • i like how the child said hello

  • @dalishisnsassy yess, it was so cute. ;)

  • Gavin, when you use umbrellas and softboxes, are the lights halogen?

  • good vid but i wanted to see more results on the pics taken.

    thanks.

  • hehe nice video, but think it would save loads of time just ironing the cloth instead of fixing it later.

  • Youd still have to do other adjusting..

  • Thanks Gavin for making photography fun again for the low budget folks such as myself..

  • very nice. ü

  • Instead of changing the exposure compensation, would it be better to change the metering to center-weighted or spot?

Which is the video that shows how to work with these photos?

  • I was wondering how you edited the white background.

  • You could use the blur or the clone stamp tool in Photoshop

  • @Killacal84 That is quite an easy one - With photoshop these days, you can do ANYTHING. :)

  • Nice!

  • Thanks for the idea! I have all the things here, I'll do that and post a video response soon!

  • why did he say exposure "composition" and not compensation

  • Aw sweet! Very professional young model

  • a really cute and fun video. Thanks!

  • what did you tell about shadows?

  • lol i loved it very nice video.

    i learned something good.

    thanks for the vid Gavin!

  • I made my profile pic in my garage using a green screen back drop and some bright flood lights and a few colored lights. Then i just used the standard effects in a program like "irfanview" and adjusted the colors and the tint, and added a few light flares and it looks like I spent a lot of money on head shots! I have several pictures that I took there and tweaked out! Thanks for the great info!

  • thanks gavin,,..GBu

  • hey ...it ws a great video ...very fun and cute

  • Well the rest of the video appeared in Digital Photo Magazine about a year ago so I can't put it on Youtube. But if you want an idea of where to go from here have a look at my video: "Give your portraits a modern look with Photoshop"

Sorry I can't post a direct link in comments but a search of my channel will take you there.

  • @PhotoGavin: Nice video! However, where did you get that backdrop that you're standing in front of??

  • what happens if you want to use a colored sheet in the background??

  • No problem with clouded sheet, just watch for creases unless you want do some photoshop work after the shoot.

  • Nice video! Good idea with the hat! Loved the part where you where commenting and the girl waves at the camera xD

  • oh great ideas thanks for sharing them ..

my biggest problem is the shadow *_*

  • nice video!

  • What kind of lens are you using? any recommendation ?

  • The lens used was a Canon 28-135 IS. It a great lens for this kind of work.
