@probrojeffro Good point. I didn't think of that. But I did read after posting this that a lot of what she did in Starship she wasn't happy with. I'm sure it was the later stuff like this and We Built This City--where I lost interest in the Starship myself.
I was fortunate to be born early enough where I could here this when it was brand new. Funny how this song is from the '80s but people talk about it being "OLDSHOOL". I remember when people would talk about the Lynyrd Skynyrd, and before that it was Elvis Presley, and before that is was The Blues (like Muddy Waters and Ella Fitzgerald and others). You want to talk "OLDSCHOOL"? This song isn't that old to be "OLDSCHOOL".
Im only 12 years old and i listen to this kinda music like rock, classic rock whatever anything from th 70's, 80s and 90's I LOVE IT ALL and i wish i was born in that decade where music was much better life was funner and easier especially without all this crappy technology
This video and group rocks. I love Mickey's voice. This is the way music should still be today...Plain & Simple. Just Beib-ass needs to go. He'll be nothing like the music of the 80's.
used to sing this song about a relationship I had that was mutually bad. 'Its not over til I say so." Brings me back to the day at least I still had some hope then. Great song and band
@Antimonitor its 15 seconds longer because the difference is the guitar part between 2:46 to 3:01 is added here and not on the original album or the greatest hits versions.
@Antimonitor oh yes thats true. Ive seen music videos where a version has some extra added to it where its not on the album. Lets use the song "Take On Me" by A-ha from 1985. In the music video theres an ending where on the album it fades out.
Love this song and video, this song has has a special meaning to me. For you NASCAR and Earnhardt fans. This song was the background for the 87 season review. Damn awesome. I'll try to post if anyone wants to see it.

This is my FAV Starship song. Mickey Thomas is so underrated. He can really belt out some emotion into a song as good as this one was then and still is today.
God! How I love this band. Grace Slick is such an icon! and the male singer ( I don't remember his name now) is timeless with a beautiful voice. Wish they would tour and take over the world again.
I always thought this version of the song was over produced. I like Starship and all, but the version by perennial Manfred Mann lead vocalist, Chris Thompson (which was released first, I think), is far superior.
@blountcoguy That would of been so cool! Concerts (In Those Days) were a riot, I bet! It's sad that people have to make fun of Starship's music like 'We Built This City', the song is catchy and that was the times (mid 80's), even Grace didn't like that period. They should be proud with 3 #1 Hits in a span of two years, not bad.
Rock that reminds me of my late coz, Chike Oneze asking me to explain the epigram in the caption, "Its not over (till its over)". Well Chike, its not over (till we meet in Heaven). Then, we'll get it right!
There's a collection on DVD with this song. I saw it on a local radio TV video show back when it was recent. So long ago now. This song is INSTANT HIT from the get go. Unlike most music these days
Any chance you can get your hands on the video which featured 1987 major league baseball highlights througout? Now that was a great video. I saw it once a few years ago, but I think MLB had it removed since they have a problem wtih good publicity (ha ha).
I liked having Mickey, Paul and Grace Slick all contributing. Many people would say Craig Chiquico detracted from the band, well, some anyway... I always appreciated his input. bought his first acoustic release as well, not damn bad
im a kid thats old school i listen to this kinda music i even listen to MJ im OLDSCHOOL LOL jk i listen to songs from the 80's and like stuff that was sang long before i was born to experince the songs that were before me

If you watch that film again, look for this song playing in the background when the 'Stockholders'(the teenagers) are storming the small town, kidnapping certain important own town key individualks and planting smoke grenades through out main street to help sneek-in that large Back-O (digging vehicle) to digg up their cesspool.
In 1984, the orig.
