You must've played a different game than me, I was unimpressed with prologue. It's not like Forza with the damage. No, I'm extremely disappointed in the GT team as they did fairly well by me up until this point (GT4 was great albeit GT2, 3, and 4 were just graphical updates and not much substance changed). Cars in GT aren't as satisfying to drive as they are in Forza, I'm sure lots of other people feel the same way.

I didn't say GT5 is going to suck. And you really don't understand the hardware if you think the PS3 is a huge leap over the 360. Both systems crunch near the same amount of numbers with the PS3s main advantage being the disc size and 256mb of it's ram is faster then the 360's.
Once again, I am not saying GT5 sucks. I did however ask you how you can say the physics in one game is better then the other when neither is out yet.
BTW, a dual layer DVD is 8.5 GB. So the game is on two disc, which means the game is probably gonna be 16-17 GB in total size. Granted, that's still not as big as 50GB, but data size does not translate into better physics. That's up to the system's resources. Something that, as long as you aren't just a fanboy, you'll recognize the number crunching power of the 360 isn't much different then the PS3.

The cores are a great place to start: the 360 has 3 cores which all hyperthread giving the 360 a total of 6 processing threads to work with, all going 3.1ghz.
The PS3 has 7 cores, though not all of them go 3.1ghz.
Both have a combined RAM of 512, divided between the processor and video.

The main system memory in the PS3 is xdr and is faster then the main system ram in the 360. However the VRAM is the same in both systems.

I really hate to jump into these type of subjects, but this has to be said. The guys at my office all own PlayStation 3's and think that Gran Turismo 5 is a better buy due to its photo-realistic graphics.
I have bought the Xbox 360 solely for Forza Motorsport 2 and 3 - to tell you the truth, this game definitely fails to disappoint. It's fun a great game that appeals to everyone!
I like both systems and without a doubt will buy a PS3 for Gran Turismo 5, both games are very unique in their own aspects and its just irrelevant to compare the two.

I'm getting Grid 2, NFS: Shift, and a lot of other racing games. I like having a selection. It's how I am. So I won't try to convince you of what I don't believe myself.
On the other hand, I think Forza 3 will be a great game, just ignore the hype. I try to ignore hype as much as I can.
I think it is also worth noting that not all the cars in GT5 will be damageable. Kind of breaks the realistic physics system when some cars will act invincible and others will be smashed.
Then here's a thought on car numbers. If you make a custom paint job and mod the car, yours will be unique compared to another person's car.
I do think GT5 will be a fun game, but it being fun does not mean Forza 3 won't also be great. No reason only one can be worth playing.
Quick question, has anyone heard if they're adding the car painting function from 2? Also, is there going to be an auction house for buying and selling cars?
To me, that option was a huge part of what made Forza 2 better then the other racing games.

You must've played a different game than me, I was unimpressed with prologue. It's not like Forza with the damage. No, I'm extremely disappointed in the GT team as they did fairly well by me up until this point (GT4 was great albeit GT2, 3, and 4 were just graphical updates and not much substance changed). Cars in GT aren't as satisfying to drive as they are in Forza, I'm sure lots of other people feel the same way.

I didn't say GT5 is going to suck. And you really don't understand the hardware if you think the PS3 is a huge leap over the 360. Both systems crunch near the same amount of numbers with the PS3s main advantage being the disc size and 256mb of it's ram is faster then the 360's.
Once again, I am not saying GT5 sucks. I did however ask you how you can say the physics in one game is better then the other when neither is out yet.

BTW, a dual layer DVD is 8.5 GB. So the game is on two disc, which means the game is probably gonna be 16-17 GB in total size. Granted, that's still not as big as 50GB, but data size does not translate into better physics. That's up to the system's resources. Something that, as long as you aren't just a fanboy, you'll recognize the number crunching power of the 360 isn't much different then the PS3.
Final thought, both games are gonna rock.

The cores are a great place to start: the 360 has 3 cores which all hyperthread giving the 360 a total of 6 processing threads to work with, all going 3.1ghz.
The PS3 has 7 cores, though not all of them go 3.1ghz.
Both have a combined RAM of 512, divided between the processor and video.
Care to add anything? Instead of insulting me, can you answer my question? How do you know the physics will be better?

The main system memory in the PS3 is xdr and is faster then the main system ram in the 360. However the VRAM is the same in both systems.
I have no idea where you got the idea that the cores run faster in the PS3.

I really hate to jump into these type of subjects, but this has to be said. The guys at my office all own PlayStation 3's and think that Gran Turismo 5 is a better buy due to its photo-realistic graphics.
I have bought the Xbox 360 solely for Forza Motorsport 2 and 3 - to tell you the truth, this game definitely fails to disappoint. It's fun a great game that appeals to everyone!

I don't understand how you can call the graphics shitty. They look great. There's only a hand full of titles on any system that look dramatically better. It's too early to say if GT5 will be one of them, but just because that one might look better, doesn't mean Forza 3 is shit.
Forza 3 should have all the options in 2, which means it'll have a better community then GT5. The ability to customize the paint job, then use an aution house system to buy and sell makes Forza a great racing game.

I think it is also worth noting that not all the cars in GT5 will be damageable. Kind of breaks the realistic physics system when some cars will act invincible and others will be smashed.
Then here's a thought on car numbers. If you make a custom paint job and mod the car, yours will be unique compared to another person's car.
I do think GT5 will be a fun game, but it being fun does not mean Forza 3 won't also be great. No reason only one can be worth playing.

Quick question, has anyone heard if they're adding the car painting function from 2? Also, is there going to be an auction house for buying and selling cars?
To me, that option was a huge part of what made Forza 2 better then the other racing games.
