I really don't remember that scene with that earthbender fighting that one firebender..... maybe its the one with haru, but that happened on the metal prison place somewhere in the middle of the ocean.....
@JRzing i cant be certain but i think that particular scene in the film will involve an earthbending boy and father based on tyro and haru(the characters i dont think have the actual names dunno why) and instead of being on a metal built prison in the ocean its a prison camp where all the earthbenders spirits are crushed. but as they find out the airbender returns the earthbenders then attack the fire nation guards.
Don't you get it this is the last airbender the first movie its based on water which is the first book Topth wern't in the first book they are making 3 movies out of the 3 books so the next movie Toph will be in there!

i am personally fond of the decision to choose people of different races and. After all, the story takes place around an entire "world". Why shouldn't there be people of different ethnicities? and its nothing new for a movie adaptation of a cartoon to be different. theres no reason why this doesnt have potential to be a great movie.
just so we are all clear on a few things on the cartoon...the people who wrote and directed avatar are from the unted states, the drawings came from korea, and there are no ethniticities because if you haven't noticed this is not our world but an alternate. four nations with all ethniticites living together. some influences where in there definately, but they are a whole different group of people.

he didn't mess it up, he chose the good guy for playing sokka. i know that the last airbender it's japenese but he have the right to chose any actors or actress, even if they english actors, for the caracters and still make good job for choosing jackson, he will be his first appearence in a movie from the version cartoon.

the director said that he was removing all the 'goofy' stuff that the cartoon had, so i think the movie will be great. graphics seem great as well. my only problem is that i think they should have stuck to the ethnicities of the character. that way we'll get a better feel of who the characters were. but oh well not everything in life ends up perfect. nonethelss i think it will be great.

honestly if you look back at season 1 there was a hefty amount of earth bending involved. i'm sure they are gong to have alot of earth bending...not as much as the second season and deff not as much as air and water and fire, but there will be earth bending in this film
the reason they don't show much earthbending in the trailers is because they don't want to give away everything in the movie. there will be earthbending in the film they have to keep some things a surprise!

Problem with this teaser? It shows the Kyoshi warriors. Normally that's good, since I love the Kyoshi warriors. But they look weak. And girly. And that just sucks.

I know I'm watching this movie no matter what because it's just sorta the thing I really want to see because I loved the show. The problem is that I know I'm going to be cringing in my seat because I know there is a boy from China in my Shaolin class that makes the perfect fun-loving Aang. Plus, he even has the same voice as the voice actor of Aang for the show. (just really wish he could speak fluent english)
Anybody notice... no matter which ever trailer you watch for Avatar, You'll never see EARTHbending.. there's only one seen of earth bending and that's been repeated in all trailers.
and in this trailer, it started with "Air, water, earth and fire" all the 4 scene, 3 of them showed the real element...for earth they just showd guys doing some sync martial art. I think something's fishy here...lol

@erikandchristine Toph won't come till movie 2. They going by the books of the cartoon series. Book one, the one that is coming out know, is based only on book one. Toph isn't in book one but she shows up on book 2. If they continue to make the trilogy i'm pretty sure that toph will be in it.

@HatroVille This movie is based off of book 1 of the series. What was the name of book one again...? Oh that's right. WATER! Hints why we see a lot of water bending. Season one's focus was on Water and Earthbending played no vital role in that particular season. Earthbending is the main focus in book 2, thus it will be the main focus in movie 2. Get it? Got it? I love the anime but I just think that these characters are not fit for the part. I mean the Fire nations is suppose to be Chinese, Zuko is suppose to have a scar on his face, Katara is suppose to be taller than Ang. And ang is suppose to be shorter. @Abazigal It doesn't matter Asian is Asian. Change of ethnicity? There was no ethnicity in the show, this is something fans have fabricated... never was an actual race specified. This is because the Avatar world is full of fictional races. The Asian backdrop does not translate to Asian people. IT's like saying just because they speak English in the lord of the rings... the elves are British, the hobbits are American, the wizards are what? Australian. Yeah I don't think so.
Well, if you knew anything about the LOTR, you would know that Middle Earth, according to Tolkien, was intended as a fictional mythology for England, and Europe in general. Hence why everyone is English, Nordic, etc in different parts of the world.
According to the creators, the cartoon was also intended to be like this, serving as a fictional mythology of an ancient Asia. So yes, they do each correspond to a real life ethnicity
@Abazigal No actually your incorrect. Yes, LOTR, is based off of European mythology, but the world in which it takes place is entirely fictional, to say otherwise is foolish. No one in LOTR is American, British, or any other non-fictional... Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out. The Creators of avatar stated, ONLY, that they drew inspiration from Asian cultures as well as from OTHER cultures and mythology. The world however remains a total separate entity aside from our own.
It is fictional, but from Tolkien himself, it was supposed to be Europe in the distant past, as many mythologies are for the region they originate in.
Also, directly from the creators of Avatar is this: "we thought, what if this was set in an Asian mythical world? A legend based on the past, but an alternate past."
I'm not going to go tit for tat with you. This argument is tired and old. M. Night already stated this is an adaption not an exact replica. He has taken liberties in changing a few things. Some people hate it, you are probably one of them, and many don't, I am one the people who don't mind. You want to rewatch Avatar with no changes the show reruns on NickToons all day. You want the same story but told in a different way, that's what this is right here. Take it or leave it. It's already done.

I know I'm watching this movie no matter what because it's just sorta the thing I really want to see because I loved the show. The problem is that I know I'm going to be cringing in my seat because I know there is a boy from China in my Shaolin class that makes the perfect fun-loving Aang. Plus, he even has the same voice as the voice actor of Aang for the show. (just really wish he could speak fluent english)

Gosh I love this show from Nickelodian I know each episode.
This means that this movie will have 4 chapters AWESOME

Anybody notice... no matter which ever trailer you watch for Avatar, You'll never see EARTHbending.. there's only one seen of earth bending and that's been repeated in all trailers.
and in this trailer, it started with "Air, water, earth and fire" all the 4 scene, 3 of them showed the real element...for earth they just showd guys doing some sync martial art. I think something's fishy here...lol

@driedtears8 yah, but they arent adding toph in the movie :'( its going to be a young male character who will take her place, and eventually he will be blinded and have to learn by feeling the sensations in the earth like toph.
ugh, she was one of my favorite characters, her story was amazing.

@erikandchristine Toph won't come till movie 2. They going by the books of the cartoon series. Book one, the one that is coming out know, is based only on book one. Toph isn't in book one but she shows up on book 2. If they continue to make the trilogy i'm pretty sure that toph will be in it.

@erikandchristine i really believe that information to be false, because it was given on April fools day, and c'mon they even made fun of that in the cartoon about Toph being portrayed as a man in a play about their adventures..i HIGHLY doubt that M. Night would seriously do that.

@erikandchristine that was an april fools joke done by Jeff Palmer, if you go back to the video, he has even changed the name of it to "April Fools", so don't wory Toph will indeed be a girl. :)

@HatroVille This movie is based off of book 1 of the series. What was the name of book one again...? Oh that's right. WATER! Hints why we see a lot of water bending. Season one's focus was on Water and Earthbending played no vital role in that particular season. Earthbending is the main focus in book 2, thus it will be the main focus in movie 2. Get it? Got it? Good.

Now we are 4 trailers further and people are still whining about some bloody actors and Japanese/chinese guys who should be middle-east or whatsoever. Really people, please stop complaining about it, cause if you don't like, just don't go to the movie.
This movie needs good actors, and I really don't give a sh*t that Katara and Sokka ain't Inuït or something like it. I'd prefer good actors over the colour of skin and origin. I do agree about Zuko though, his scar really sucks :p.

I love the anime but I just think that these characters are not fit for the part. I mean the Fire nations is suppose to be Chinese, Zuko is suppose to have a scar on his face, Katara is suppose to be taller than Ang. And ang is suppose to be shorter. It's also sad that none of these characters are ASIAN. And what happen to the Kiyoshi' warrior's make up? btw, thanks for sharing. :D

@Abazigal It doesn't matter Asian is Asian. Change of ethnicity? There was no ethnicity in the show, this is something fans have fabricated... never was an actual race specified. This is because the Avatar world is full of fictional races. The Asian backdrop does not translate to Asian people. IT's like saying just because they speak English in the lord of the rings... the elves are British, the hobbits are American, the wizards are what? Australian. Yeah I don't think so.

Well, if you knew anything about the LOTR, you would know that Middle Earth, according to Tolkien, was intended as a fictional mythology for England, and Europe in general. Hence why everyone is English, Nordic, etc in different parts of the world.
According to the creators, the cartoon was also intended to be like this, serving as a fictional mythology of an ancient Asia. So yes, they do each correspond to a real life ethnicity

@Abazigal No actually your incorrect. Yes, LOTR, is based off of European mythology, but the world in which it takes place is entirely fictional, to say otherwise is foolish. No one in LOTR is American, British, or any other non-fictional... Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out. The Creators of avatar stated, ONLY, that they drew inspiration from Asian cultures as well as from OTHER cultures and mythology. The world however remains a total separate entity aside from our own.

It is fictional, but from Tolkien himself, it was supposed to be Europe in the distant past, as many mythologies are for the region they originate in.
Also, directly from the creators of Avatar is this: "we thought, what if this was set in an Asian mythical world? A legend based on the past, but an alternate past."
Sounds fairly distinct to me.

I'm not going to go tit for tat with you. This argument is tired and old. M. Night already stated this is an adaption not an exact replica. He has taken liberties in changing a few things. Some people hate it, you are probably one of them, and many don't, I am one the people who don't mind. You want to rewatch Avatar with no changes the show reruns on NickToons all day. You want the same story but told in a different way, that's what this is right here. Take it or leave it. It's already done.
