1. There are at least hundreds of millions if not more.

2. Not everyone uses Windows. (I'm using Linux)

Don't get McAfee, it trashed my Grandma's PC when she tried to remove it. It bury's it's keys DEEP in the regerstry and some aren't even named under McAfee! It's a con people!! And when she bought the PC she had no choice because it was pre-installed!! Stay away from McAfee

yeah fuck mcafee if its not working out for you it's extremely hard to get rid of,it's very very annoying sometimes,they trick you into getting there software and they're way overpriced,I suggest bitdefender thats what my brother uses.works great unfortunantly I can't get it because I'm stuck with mcafee.

If I try to install it, it won't work. The instructions told me to delete any other anti virus programs so now that I followed that I have NO VIRUS SECURITY WHAT SO EVER! I wasted my money and Im extremly angry

here are some good programs to use (they are free) - avast antivirus, malwarebytes antimalware, spybot search and destroy, and ccleaner. ccleaner is meant to clean out your useless files, so if you dont know what you are doing, do not use ccleaner.

let me let everybody know something. this is a fact. MCAFEE GIVES PEOPLE VIRUSES. my brother bought a brand new laptop, it was absolutely fine, until he installed mcafee. all of a sudden he had 57 viruses, 5 of them trojans, and his computer crashed. we were able to fix it, and when we traced the viruses, it led us to the mcafee file. everyone who says that it doesnt give you viruses is a liar, or they havent had it happen to them yet.

Dude what the hell are you talking about...a free anti virus is better then a $30 Anti-Virus Protection, and its famous including the fact that's one of the 3 best anti virus software. McAfee is amazing...and it always will...it may take more resources...because of the fact that it is a very good security. I don't mind...I have an Alien Ware, it won't even scratch the speed.

this guy is a hack, Macafee sucks and so does norton. they both slow your computer down, Try Avast and a few other tools you can find on Teraroot,com most of the best antivirus tools are cheaper or in alot of cases free.

also it is a good idea to disable remote registry it prevents outside source from making changed to your registry which a backbone of your system

truth is that 99.9% of problems with PC's are not viruses at all but registry problems due to outside sources making changes to your registry Stop them dead disable remote registry

theres a guy online who feels up a computer with vrisues ,trojans,spy ,ad and malware then tests the anti virus softwares to see how they do/hes only tested a few windows one care which basically removed nothing/ nod which got rid of all the viruses but left every thing else/kaspersky which got almost all of it accept for a few pieces/ avast got almost all of it accept the browser highjackers which it couldnt get out/ the users name is mrizos if you wanna check out his vids

mcafee is a resource hog. its firewall is pretty good. and i like the site advisor . but the virus scan sucks your system could be going heywire and u know u have osmthun in it and 9 times outa 10 mcafee says your clean. then u can run a good virus scan like avg or avast and it will find the things screwn up ya system. mcafee and nortons virus scans just dont cut it against viruses anymore. there to old and no one even buys that garbage anymore. avast ,avg,kaspersky are the future
