According to the liner notes, Amy wrote this tune and plays guitar on it. But it has James Poyser (flutes & synthesizers) and ?uestlove (drums) of The Roots...which gives it that neo-soul feel, like some of the Badu tracks, which they've also played on.

@TJofDaWestunes I felt the same thing when I heard this song. It reminds me of Erykah Badu singing "The Game" Amy recorded this song when she was 19 back in 2002 so that was around the time when Erykah was at the top of her game. So I would guess Amy had that "sound" on her mind when she wrote this song, Either way, I love this song and I love Amy Winehouse...A true Original.

THIS is the Amy I love! I've always loved Frank better than Back 2 Black! Both are exceptional....but Frank has this smooth, jazzy feel and I love her voice esp on this song! Had she lived and this song somehow got released..it could've easily been a single. Amy was rare in that she had the voice along with awesome songwriting skills. Really, all of Amy's songs could've been singles!

Recorded back in 2002, Halftime "apparently" did not make it onto the Frank album. It should have. Yet another gem.

And with Amy's supernatural talents having now been forever silenced there is nobody -- NO ONE -- in this world that can even come close to carrying her torch. She set the bar too high.

What an inspiration for an otherwise uninspiring world.
