That Quik Commercial is old school dude. I remember seeing it on the beginning of the VHS of Mario's Magic Carpet. I never actually saw it on tv, but it's one of my favorites.
Thank you, Crest Toothpaste, for doing that tooth-brushing campaign at my elementary school. I had no idea there was a kids' Crest back then, and my parents always made me use the Crest with the "refreshing" mint flavor that feels like it's burning your tongue. Thankfully my parents let me switch. :)
wow I memeberz all these shows. It was great bein a child in the 80s/90s. good xs, good xs ha ha. Thx for these memories it put a huge smile on my face. that was t.v
I was born in 92' so i never watched this shit... i remember the face that changed colors that talked before every show though thumbs up if ya'll know what i'm talking about
man the nesquik commericals always made me want to drink some with a red and white straw... WHERE DO YOU FIND THOSE STRAWS because nesquick can never taste as awesome if its not sucked through a red and white straw!
BRAVO! I remember every single one of those shows, and commercials. I was 5 years old in 91. My dad used to record nick jr, and other cartoons, on VHS for me to watch! He died in 94, and with him went most the things he left for me. Thank you so much for this. It was almost like i was sitting next to my dad again, 19 years later. I applaud, and would do anything to have a classic nick channel. TO HELL WITH iCarly!!!
I was two when these first aired, yet I vaguely remember shows like Fred Penner's place and Eureka's Castle. Also, what's up with all the anime, and where'd it go?
OMG! Am i the only one that remembers the Nes Quick Commercial from the old Super Mario Bros. Super Show vhs tape. I remember watching that all the time when i was 6.
its amazing how different things were growing up back then, things will never be the same now that high speed internet has become intergrated in everday life. This was back when children actually played with TOYS and had to mostly rely on IMAGINATION for entertainment. Kids of the same age today now are likely to play Call of Duty for 5 hours a day, i wonder what effect this has, hmmm.
Oh, I think we can make a case against Kool-Aid for false advertising. I drank Kool-Aid, and I never turned into a slot machine or had big geysers rush through my chimney. Maybe my Kool-Aid was defective.
And the couple times I drank Capri-Sun, I never turned into The Silver Surfer.
@CaptainSiberia I never treasured Maya the Bee enough either. Sad.
Nor The Elephant Show. Stupid school! What good did it do me? I should have been watching TV! They had all those cool shows with folk singers, and old anime, and Almost-Muppets from the Not Jim Henson Company!
On your tapes, somewhere, do you have that classic moment in 1989 where the Rabbit finally got his Trix?
Laughin' Splashin' Lagoon. I feel like I must have seen it at some time. If your parents didn't buy it for you, they didn't really love you. Mine didn't. If they had, I would have been a better man today.
I remember the Koolaid commercial at 1:41 being on my Wacky Zany Video tape I got years ago! Actually won it at the elementary school carnival, haha.
Also, please don't advertise your shitty Youtube videos in the middle of our nostalgia, plzkthx. I watched that Nanner Man video and I couldn't even get past a minute.
Does anyone remember this intro to Nick Jr, it was long before face. The camera was positioned to be you (the child watching) as it moved along into a hot air ballon with other kids, and when the ballon fired up the kids waved to the man at the ground and they had a picnic inside the ballon while going into the diffrent shows..Anyone else remember this or anything close too it?
@559Santana Cartoon Network did not officially launch until December 7,1991. Even after that, it wasn't widly availble as a premium channel until 1994. By 1997, CN was availible as a basic cable channel nationwide.
i remember as a seven year old, how lame i thought that nose rub thing she did with the bear on noozles was. you know your show is stupid when even small children roll their eyes at it.
Okay Fred Penner..."I like to have fun with you!" Yikes! I also remember another commercial where they say "It's Fred Penner and he'll take you to his special hideaway in the woods to share songs." Um...can you say Fred Pedo!?

OH MY GOD!!!! look i am an 86 baby, i almost forgot about the elephant never forgets show!!!! i am 23 now and this shit is really bringing back some memories from a time long past.
It seems like it wasn't that long ago. What really gets me is I can vividly remember those days. It's like they never really left me. Sorry...this was awesome!
Are you sure this is '91? Because I was 1 years old that year, but I still vaguely remember the elephant show and the dancing raisins lmao! Maybe they replayed them in 93?
Hrm. I never noticed as a kid and I haven't seen it mentioned here at all but most of these early Nick Jr. shows are foreign.

Japanese? Yeah, it seems like Nick Jr. may have been the first channel (that I can think of) to adopt anime regularly.

I guess I was watching Nick in 1991. I remember the Skinnamarinky Dinky Dink show. Seriously, what happened to TV? Has it been abandoned for the Internet? Even the commercials were tons better.
Ohmygosh, I remember the California Raisin books commercial! And don't play, I totally had that Crest sparkle toothpaste! (...later...) OHMYGOSH, EUREKA'S CASTLE!!! <3

You put your ad in the middle of this video? I didn't figure out until Youtube was mentioned, which was a bit shocking... but something seemed way off to begin with. Joy. =P

I guess I was watching Nick in 1991. I remember the Skinnamarinky Dinky Dink show. Seriously, what happened to TV? Has it been abandoned for the Internet? Even the commercials were tons better.

I'm 28 and I can still do the "books, check 'em out" rap word for word.
These were the greatest days.

OMG, I use to think that commercial was the ish b/c they were rapping and it actually sounded cool for an ad for reading books. LOL
