I'd only consider a car with pop-up headlights if it's a cool car that wasn't available with fixed lights. Like a Ferrari, Lamborghini, IROC Camaro, etc.

Most people probably dont even know what vtec is and what it was originally invented for. And yes the vtec motors are good motors and they are capable of keeping up with v8s with some modding. Thats pretty good for a 1.5 to 2.4 liter keeping up with a 4.0 or higher. Real people who are into cars loves all cars and not just one.
Best ricer rap yet. But, really it is sad though because gas is down because of lack of demand, but there starting to rise again as the economy sluggishly improves. THEY WILL continue to go up so as much as Ricers suck, I just went out and bought a Corolla S and parked my Dodge Dakota 3.9L Magnum behind my place because I was spending about 3,200 a year in gas and in my Corolla I will only be spending an estimated 1,650 a years literally cut my bill in half.....thats a big deal.

@mj20042 - Well true. But most people that buy Hondas and Toyotas and little four-cylinder cars like that is most are also paying attention to fuel economy. Where a Camaro gets like 15mpg, the average Civic is getting 31. I had a '95 EX Coupe with a 5-speed. Came with that sohc vtec, 125hp engine. Not that fast. I spent $800 and bought a B16 swap for it. And just stock I was killing all these other "ricer" guys at my school. My car was all stock. I made it a ton faster by doing an engine swap.
@hogger129 - N then after that I went back and built the engine a bunch. Put some higher compression pistons in it, race cams, pulleys, put a GSX-R intake manifold on it so it basically had individually throttle bodies. Louder than hell. Didn't need a "cold air intake." Kept my exhaust system stock. I was putting down 225hp on a dyno. The only exterior modification I made was putting aftermarket 16" wheels on it. I think body kits and wings look like shit and add weight.
@mj20042 - Plus not everybody can afford a Camaro. When you're in high school, insurance gets a little expensive when you drive a Camaro. Especially if it has the V8. Plus cars like that are good for going in a straight line. I did road racing on a track with my '95 Civic.
@hogger129 Yeah, stock for stock, your civic might edge ahead of a Camaro with an old 175 hp 350ci, because the Camaro weighs so much more, but if they had the same power to weight ratio, the Camaro would edge ahead because it's better set up. The civic is front-heavy, and has skinny tires, the Camaro is more of a neutral weight distribution and has wider tires.

I'm just saying that you are correct before. If you're going to go and stick $10k or more into a car, start with something faster.
The only reason I chose to fix up my Civic was because that's what I drove in high school and it's what I had. Rather than spending more money than I needed to and trying to make the SOHC engine faster, I spent $800 and bought a B16 swap and I beat a bunch of kids at school.
And the B16 engine I had was stock. It was a JDM B16A2 engine. 168hp with a 5-speed. No modifications on it. Once I had some more money, like I said, I modified it more.
I got lucky finding that GSX-R manifold too. Had a friend that wrecked his bike and sold me that part off it. Spacing is just right for it to fit onto a Honda B-series engine and you basically make individual throttle bodies with it.
When I dynoed it with those parts on, it said I was making 224.74hp to the wheels.
Camaro vs. Civic I'm talking straight stock for stock. I'm not sure how much power a Camaro 3.8 V6 has, but I know it's definitely more than a Civic. I'm not too sure about the new Civics, but an Si is only 197hp stock with the six-speed. The Camaro 5.7 V8 is 300hp. The new ones I thought were closer to 400 on the 6.0. I mean stock, you'll probably toast a modified Civic. You invest as much money into your Camaro as some of these ricer ppl and you can make it pretty darn fast.
@hogger129 Yeah, but I was thinking along the lines of the early 90's camaros with the newly fuel-injected 350 (with a pathetic 175 hp). LOL, I had somebody do a custom intake for my Neon with a K&N Xstream motorcycle filter (A 3.0L Chrysler plastic intake pipe cut up and extended with steel piping and ending under the battery box in the front left corner) A bunch of extra power, and I'm hoping to install a Second-gen header (lol, no offense but I'm going to use parts from an actual car O.o)
@mj20042 - If you really want to go to town on that Neon, put a 4G63T in it. I'm pretty sure some Neons (I don't know if yours is) come with a 2.0-liter non-turbo version of that engine. It's the same thing that's in some Eclipses/Eagle Talon ESi cars.

"huge ass exhaust" ? 2 x 76mm - das not huge (it was important for me to have a decent one), you don't like the look of the Rims? You're the first one =) You know, i made a few other modifications on the 16v, Original it had 136HP on 1030Kg, after the Mods it hat 225HP on 910Kg. The Nova would propably smoke my car on the straight, but on any racetrack with corners i would beat your Nova or Mustang. Wanna see pic's of my "new" Corrado ('89 G60 - 297HP on Dyno on 870Kg =) )?

These stupid ricers is the reason why the import seen is hated. If the was no ricers then the honda community would be respected. Most people probably dont even know what vtec is and what it was originally invented for. And yes the vtec motors are good motors and they are capable of keeping up with v8s with some modding. Thats pretty good for a 1.5 to 2.4 liter keeping up with a 4.0 or higher. Real people who are into cars loves all cars and not just one.

Best ricer rap yet. But, really it is sad though because gas is down because of lack of demand, but there starting to rise again as the economy sluggishly improves. THEY WILL continue to go up so as much as Ricers suck, I just went out and bought a Corolla S and parked my Dodge Dakota 3.9L Magnum behind my place because I was spending about 3,200 a year in gas and in my Corolla I will only be spending an estimated 1,650 a years literally cut my bill in half.....thats a big deal.

@mj20042 - Well true. But most people that buy Hondas and Toyotas and little four-cylinder cars like that is most are also paying attention to fuel economy. Where a Camaro gets like 15mpg, the average Civic is getting 31. I had a '95 EX Coupe with a 5-speed. Came with that sohc vtec, 125hp engine. Not that fast. I spent $800 and bought a B16 swap for it. And just stock I was killing all these other "ricer" guys at my school. My car was all stock. I made it a ton faster by doing an engine swap.

@hogger129 - N then after that I went back and built the engine a bunch. Put some higher compression pistons in it, race cams, pulleys, put a GSX-R intake manifold on it so it basically had individually throttle bodies. Louder than hell. Didn't need a "cold air intake." Kept my exhaust system stock. I was putting down 225hp on a dyno. The only exterior modification I made was putting aftermarket 16" wheels on it. I think body kits and wings look like shit and add weight.

@mj20042 - Plus not everybody can afford a Camaro. When you're in high school, insurance gets a little expensive when you drive a Camaro. Especially if it has the V8. Plus cars like that are good for going in a straight line. I did road racing on a track with my '95 Civic.

@hogger129 Yeah, stock for stock, your civic might edge ahead of a Camaro with an old 175 hp 350ci, because the Camaro weighs so much more, but if they had the same power to weight ratio, the Camaro would edge ahead because it's better set up. The civic is front-heavy, and has skinny tires, the Camaro is more of a neutral weight distribution and has wider tires.

I'm just saying that you are correct before. If you're going to go and stick $10k or more into a car, start with something faster.
The only reason I chose to fix up my Civic was because that's what I drove in high school and it's what I had. Rather than spending more money than I needed to and trying to make the SOHC engine faster, I spent $800 and bought a B16 swap and I beat a bunch of kids at school.

And the B16 engine I had was stock. It was a JDM B16A2 engine. 168hp with a 5-speed. No modifications on it. Once I had some more money, like I said, I modified it more.
I got lucky finding that GSX-R manifold too. Had a friend that wrecked his bike and sold me that part off it. Spacing is just right for it to fit onto a Honda B-series engine and you basically make individual throttle bodies with it.
When I dynoed it with those parts on, it said I was making 224.74hp to the wheels.

Camaro vs. Civic I'm talking straight stock for stock. I'm not sure how much power a Camaro 3.8 V6 has, but I know it's definitely more than a Civic. I'm not too sure about the new Civics, but an Si is only 197hp stock with the six-speed. The Camaro 5.7 V8 is 300hp. The new ones I thought were closer to 400 on the 6.0. I mean stock, you'll probably toast a modified Civic. You invest as much money into your Camaro as some of these ricer ppl and you can make it pretty darn fast.

LOL, I had somebody do a custom intake for my Neon with a K&N Xstream motorcycle filter (A 3.0L Chrysler plastic intake pipe cut up and extended with steel piping and ending under the battery box in the front left corner) A bunch of extra power, and I'm hoping to install a Second-gen header (lol, no offense but I'm going to use parts from an actual car O.o)

@mj20042 - If you really want to go to town on that Neon, put a 4G63T in it. I'm pretty sure some Neons (I don't know if yours is) come with a 2.0-liter non-turbo version of that engine. It's the same thing that's in some Eclipses/Eagle Talon ESi cars.
Yeah those Camaros must have been the ones that came out back in the mid-70s. That's like some V8s in the early 80's on cars like Corvettes and Camaros that are only like 190hp? WTF?

@hogger129 Yeah, the DOHC neons (150 hp vs 132) have that engine. But if I want a 4G63T, I'll actually buy the entire Eclipse, because that engine comes in an AWD Eclipse. I'll take AWD over FWD any day.
