  • SICK, I love it.

  • fucken A

  • Phil Marshall, my hero.

  • nevermind shoulda rolled the fenders

  • WTF happened

  • merkur XR4Ti for the win. Best Ford made in Germany

  • @JamaicanMehHorny Worst Ford made anywhere. You have to be a mechanic to keep after them. They are pretty, but a pain in the ass. Mr. Marshall seems to have it handled, though.

    Sweet work Phil!

  • I would like to see this thing do the 1/4 mile

    against a '70s VW Bug

    time on the bug: 20:08.1

    time on this thing: 10:09.8

  • ehh it was just tire rub

  • Comment removed

  • @PrestonWolff09 Notice the smoke was coming off the roller, tire rub of sorts I guess... If that is what you call melting it on the roller.

  • Impressive, but it is sure a Merkur, fucka stalls when you go to launch, lol. Sick car none the less!!!

  • @MrRobo956 Probably because of a very aggressive clutch required to hold this kind of power.

  • @electricshockproof true the clutch could be part of it, maybe a lightweight flywheel too.

  • @MrRobo956 Certainly a possible contributing factor.

  • Awesome car...

but thats definitely not an ITE car.... lol

  • @ntsullivan true these are awesome cars

    but what does ITE mean???

  • @themeatful That was the SCCA class my Dad was in at the time. He's currently in SPO. I'm not sure on the exact details of each class thought. SCCA's site might have more information on that.

  • @MrCompterGuyNY what?

    What's SCCA and SPO mean?

    Sorry........

  • Awesome Just a little tweaking with the computer and it will be perfect.

You cannot just throw these part together its always a process, tuning can be a painand take ALOT of time but when your car is running 100% theres no better feeling.

I believe that the grill is stock on the later year 86-88, not sure about the opening under the oval

  • where do you got that grill?

  • Duckyistrippin is a total dumbshit!

The dyno had been running all day with dozens and dozens of cars. The cars are strapped onto suspension, NOT the body, you stupid shit! The car had NO trouble "getting rolling" You have no friggin idea what you are talking about. This dyno setup is at every Carlisle car-show weekend. They run more dynos than you could dream about, weenie!

Phil's car was the ONLY car that weekend that SMOKED the friggin dyno!

I was standing there during the whole process.

  • To all the people with the negative comments, why are you watching the video you "IDIOTS" if it's such a big piece of shit? Get back to your Hondas with the fart can exaust.

  • The best thing about a fast POS is when you blow the doors off a sorry ass that didn't give your fast POS a second look and THEN plays it off like he didn't care.

  • Even a fast POS is still a POS. What a joke.

  • @SeigiSama

I suppose your H22 makes 500+whp? and even if it did you would have like 100ft-lbs. of torque.

  • Comment removed

  • @SeigiSama Not like that baller prelude in your channel amirite? Quick run to 90 and the car "will smell a little funny for awhile" you're too funny dude.

  • @crollic It will "smell a little funny" for a while because the Whole exhaust from the head to the end of the muffler was brand new. Including the gaskets and Copper RTV. The quick run was because someone wanted to hear what it sounds like. The Car will bury the speedo past 150 while bouncing off the rev limiter in 5th gear. I also have a 2007 MazdaSpeed 6. Much faster car yes, but Factory governed to 150. Which means the prelude will outrun it... after the mile or so it took to catch up.

  • what a pos car. amazing how excited these people get for some crap car..

  • @vasthtml coming from someone who upload videos of a little girl on youtube lol nobody cares wierdo...

  • @vasthtml What do you drive?

  • @chriserz94 What does what i drive have to do with it? Just because i drive one car dont mean i cant like or dislike another. Otherwise everyone would just love just the car they have and hate the rest. I like my car (98 GTP) but i like plenty other and hate plenty others. This car just dont sound well built at all. This is a well built car watch?v=1n7rQRuxdfU

  • @vasthtml nice nice i love gtps

  • @vasthtml do me a favor and go get mecced on. What impressive thing have you done to a car?

  • @BuddysSnackShack Have one stay running for one which this one didnt. I say one thing about this car... you you act like i have never seen a car before.

  • Wow you people are dumb. The stupid fucks running the dyno strapped the car down by the BODY not by the SUSPENSION. So they pulled the car down against the tires. This is why it had trouble getting rolling, and why the tires were pooring smoke.

Poor dyno operators, poor car setup...just a shit bag performance all the way around.

  • Ford is junk but this one ,,,, jummy

  • is it carlisle in cumbria united kindom? and how the hell did the car burnout on a dyno? wasnt it strapped up properly?

  • No its Carlisle in Pennsylvania, USA. Ford power.

  • Excelente! The Best Ford Sierra XR4i

  • Lol if his wheels weren't cambered out all stupid it would probably work a little better.

  • awesome power.... looked like shrek got outa the car though!

  • I can only hope that my merkur turns out that nice. I have owned two for the longest time. very underappreciated cars! so nice though.

  • what are these rims? i want them

  • DAMN!!!!

  • Nice power, I know it's an ITE race car, but the driveability sure looks like it lacks. The real beauty of a well engineered package would be if it actually started easily and idled.

I'm sure I'll get flamed for this comment just the same...

  • im pretty sure that is the tires rubbing on the fender wells, look at the related video from the reverse side and you can see it better... as well as the exhaust tip falling off, haha

  • Although this car is impressive...i was at the All-Ford Nationals and watched this Merkur dyno..Me and a buddy of mine were at the rear of the car on the passenger side...this car does not smoke the tires on the dyno!! It is actually strapped down so tight in the rear that the tires rub up inside the fenders due to the rear squatting even more during acceleration...if there were a shot of the tire...you would be able to see the groove that was left in it!!!!

  • wow...just wow!

  • i agree

  • I like how everyone was silent as hell . . . then when they realized everyhing was gonna be okay they cheered about how awesome it was lol

  • that is some good power but you lads need to get the cosworth engine in there. YB power all the way!!!!!

  • The engine he has in there is better than the cosworth, I am not even certain that if he had ran the same set up but with a esslinger arca head that he would make the same power.

  • Yeah he was using the volvo dohc head, that I am sure was reworked and flows better than a single cam over priced essy part.....

  • I won't go as far as to say the essy is over priced I mean 240-260 CFM is pretty damn good. That and the DOHC head swap isn't exactly cheap. I am most curious as to how they tune their set up, some guys are running megasquirt, I think Don Haulsee is running I think a turbo coupe computer in his capri. Which brings me to another question, how the fuck did he do that? I so wanna do this swap on my mustang.

  • those wheels look awesome on the car...and its fast as hell i hope to see it at carlisle

  • smoking the tires in 5th gear, after rolling for a while, that's just impressive

  • 4th gear you tard

  • im a big xr4 fan. i have an 85 im rebuilding from the ground up. EVERYTHING! unfortunately when i bought mine i was having boost problems from the previous owner and the 2.3 blew. plans for it are ridiculous and i should be producing a minimum of 700 ponies. :-) along with a cossie body

  • Damn Phil, I know you said the car was going to be faster, but thats a beast. I'll be there for the turbo install soon, I just gotta get the supercharger out of my system..

    -Dru

  • any ideas on the spec guys?

  • AWSOME!!!

  • i love my merkur and i am rebuilding the engine right now unfortuneatly im new to the performance world so i was wondering if someone could give me some suggestions on performance or more reliable parts (also with suggestoins please post the cost of the part)

  • that was so amazing in person, that was a great year, and a great merkur.

  • sounds very sweet. love the merkurs. muscorts they are. have one myself on youtube. do you know where i can get an adjustable cam for mine. any ideas?

  • Beautiful

  • I was there for his two amazing pulls. Each time I took a few steps back as the rpm's climbed. That car has some crazy power. Great Job Phil,

    Nate
