  • I'm sick and &$*#($ tired of the intro to the video being this surround sound three times as loud as the song is bullshit. i have to turn my shit down for 15 sec then turn it back up for the song. and the advertisements never even apply to me. youtube go ^&$^ urself. damnit.

  • Chris Knight will always be have the best of this song. Especially because his is the original. ♥

  • I love this song!! Great job!!

  • this video was made in my home town!! :)

  • it Ain't Easy being me

  • greatest song writer ever...

  • Im packing my stuff as we speak...LoL...FML...I want to take my son with me, but she wont let me!!!

  • @joshclark1872010 Good luck....you can't live with 'em and you can't live without 'em. It ain't fair! They got all the pussy.

  • this is my song right here for 2012!!!!!

  • Hey chris i dont know how in the hell you know so much about me but i just wanna say thanks because you had to write this for me

  • @borncountry1992 This song was co written by Craig Wiseman, who is a real hook master. Chris has had a lot of help with his writing.

  • who did the original, Blake Shelton or this guy? I heard the Shelton version first, never heard of this one.

  • @ruderevival

deffinatly chris knight. he wrote it and is without a doubt in my book the greatest song writer in these times. I have everyone of his cd's and litterally just let them play over and over again in my truck

  • @MrTbonediesel ok thanks, personally i think i like sheltons version better, but maybe thats only because i was exposed to his version first. I like the heavier sound shelton gives it, although i do like the mandolin in this version. Its an amazing song regardless, absolutely amazing song.

  • @MrTbonediesel He co wrote it with Craig Wiseman. Chris has had co writers with most of his best stuff.

  • @freetickeys A lot of excellent songwriters have co-writers. Your point? Sounds like you have a bone to pick or something.

  • @mistascott007 Sorry, I have absolutely no bone to pick. I'm just envious. I wish I could get some of them guys to write with me. Just like you and I, a lot of people have taken a shine to his efforts. A lot of the best modern songs have come from collaborations. Acuff - Rose, Lennon/ McCartney, Lieber/ Stoller, Jagger/ Richards....the list goes on. Chris should take it as a compliment that some of the greatest songwriters of our time are willing and eager to write songs with him.

  • @freetickeys Thanks for your Chris Knight concert uploads. (I don't upload anything so my channel is empty/private.) I probably just misinterpreted the tone of what you wrote. Some writers are truly solitary animals and some rarely write a song without co-writers. I think most fit into the latter category. Besides songwriting, Chris does a great job translating the emotional value of words into music. That's why we all wonder if he really killed a guy named Wilson...

  • @mistascott007 Thank you. I have enjoyed making Chris Knight videos as well as any I have ever done. I have waxed poetic on his skill with character studies and his ability to make me feel like I know those people. Sometimes, I feel like I am the guy in his songs. I went and found my Mothers grave and sang the only verse I know to "Amazing Grace"...Me And This Road seems like it's about my hometown and the road that runs in front of my house. No, I have no bone. I'm a real fan. I feel his songs.

  • Love Chris Knight - Hate Vevo!

  • Almost of his songs have more comments than "liked". Take a couple of seconds to sign in and click on LIKE. Seems like when people play a list, they're not bothering to come back and click on LIKE for each song. HE'S GREAT - give him some help people! Sign in and click Like, please?

  • if you dont like Chris Knight You can kiss are Slaughters Ky ASS

  • kentucky proud :)

  • One of the best songwriter ever born in Missouri... M-I-Z...

  • Most real music comes out of Austin, not Nashville, in this case...Slaughters, Kentucky.

  • I love you Nolan

  • Nashville style country music has taken a big shit on itself. it is nothing more than a repeditive sound that stokes the starmakeing money machine. thank god for chris knight, a man unwilling to comprimise his own down to earth take on life and understanding of great song writeing.

  • In my humble opinion chris knight is one of the greatest original song writers of our age, in or above the same leauge of john prine or bob zimerman. this guy is a common man ,a real folks hero from humble beginings from the great state of kentucky. There are no punches pulled here ,what you see and hear is what you get .The heartland of america loves ya chris, keep on turning out some of the best songs of our age.

  • Bill Monroe hated Ricky Skaggs cover of "Uncle Pen"...until the royalty checks came rolling in! Chris may, or may not, feel the same way about "established country stars" covering his music. It's just a thought....and while I am at it...I think whoever put the band at a demo derby is one creative, smart m'f'er!

  • I love you Lindsey

  • @yadams02 you sir, are an idiot.

  • @scooter32231 You, sir, are an idiot!

  • my life story. Need to hear more of him and less of fucking kenny chesney.

  • @pavester listen to "if thats country by corey smith" im pretty sure you'll like it lol

  • @bootytootyfruity70 I like that song alot, if you look up "outlaw groove" by John D Hale band that songs is in the same basket of talking about how country isnt really country anymore

  • @pavester why r u hating on kenny, prick? hes one of the best of the generation

  • @0123zaq0123 Ill agree that he is a good singer, but he is what we call "pop country" putting songs out that will rake in views, hits, and tickets sold. Not music like chris knight or numerous other texas country artists and red dirt artists, that make music about there life and things that have meaning to it.

  • my hat go's off to chris knight another artist that don't get credit like some of the big ass kissers. he needs to be more recognized as a great artist to me he is way up there, i guess he didn't have a silver spoon like e'bodyelse !

  • Blake Shelton sings a great version of this song... Everyone needs to stop comparing he is gonna sing it differently since he has a different voice. Also he isn't a bag of shit he is awesome.. it appears some people are just born jealous and haters..

  • Comment removed

  • blake shelton is a bag of shit and so is everyone who hasn't changed the channel when he came on the radio

  • Chris Knight has several good songs, I wonder what happened to him?

  • @bw2182 He is still out there playing and writing. I see him atleast 3 times a year.

  • i first heard this song in a vid dedicated to a navy seal killed in action, look up Nate Hardy to learn about a hero, great song btw

  • Myself and I agree, it ain't easy being me.

  • loveeee this song!

  • when did this video come out 90 what i seen it then great

  • We can all agree its not easy being me hahha.

  • hey chris, i'll meet ya down at sorryville!! i bring the gas,

  • Country fans need to wise up on what they listen to because our genre is at a historical low. I'm starting to listen to less and less country because it's become an industry focused on image, with the overemphasis of being "country". I'm not saying the culture isn't important, i'm only saying that it shouldn't be displayed with the in-your-face manner it is today. It should be subtlety that is promoted, and that's what Chris Knight embodies.

  • @RawtownzFinest well said.

  • This should be my theme song. haha

  • john anderson did this originally !!

  • @awest19352

Sorry Bro. written and originally done by Chris Knight, but it does sound neat with John's voice too!

  • the john mellencamp of country music

  • Story of my life.

  • when me and the wife have lil' arguments sometimes this song plays in my head

  • good call on the Mike Leach comment

  • I just found out about this guy and finally somebody has picked up the ball Steve Earle dropped in the early 90's and is putting out rich, powerful and masculine country music...the video is killer, too.

  • @mississippisheik1 no homo?

  • Does anyone else think that he kinda looks like Mike Leach?

  • thats right hometown hero!!!

  • so i was searching for another song when i accendentally clicked on this and i like it more than the one i was originally looking for...

  • Great song. :)

  • Blake Shelton makes good music but Chris Knights version is way better

  • @mudd5709 John Anderson did a decent version too. It wasn't like Blake had the first cover. But, the songwriter usually does the best version.

  • it ain't easy being me....so true ! don't know whats better the song or derby footage : )

  • Hey sharkymusicfreak21, He is one of the baddest singer/songwriters out there for sure. I live in Corpus Christi and work for an outlaw country station and we are the only station in town that plays ANY Chris Knight. Keep on keeping on and listen to us live at badlands f m.com
