At the time... the Internet as we know it was still in its infant stage, and it felt like I was the only one playing this game, and liking it so much. Which kind of goes with the whole 'getting lost in your own world' thing.

sierra used to produce some realy cool games back then.this was on eof the first games i ever played.A10 warthog(i think it was) as well as many others.shame theyre not around any more.phantasmagoria was a nice game too.the use of real actors is very nineties:-) i loved those games!

Are there any game overs in GK2? I recently finished GK1, and downloaded GK2 from GOG. I'm really excited to play it, I just want to know if there are any ways to die in GK2, because I searched almost everywhere and it looks like you can't die in GK2.

@gobthebuster I finished GK2 today and it is a phenomenal game. Better than the first one IMO. And yes, there are numerous ways to die later on in the game. Werewolves are carnivores ya know :)

Gabriel Knight 2 is definitely a GREAT Sierra On-Line game!

I recall, when I was much younger, that I've spend weeks playing it, day after day... embraced by the characters, the storyline and the urge to finish it!!

I just managed to get this game working for my mums birthday, not played it in about a decade and my GOD it is mental good this game is. I think at the tme there was a lot of point click games and a lot of failed live action stuff therfor this did not takeoff as well as it should have. From what i've read aswell there were a lot of fans unhappy about the direction it took from the first. personally i think GK 2 completly surpasses the first in every aspect.

The entire Gabriel Knight series is available for purchase via Good Old Games (gog.com). They're a legitimate service - they purchased the rights to redistribute the games and then tweaked them to play on modern computers. :)

But it took 1-2 year before I finished chapter 1. Didnt know about the spliting tape or why I would want to do that. Finnaly read it on the walkthrough so I could get someore in the game

Imagine playing this game completely digitally REMASTERED from beginning to end, it would probably be more EPIC/SCARY/SUSPENSEFUL. I remember being 13 years old back in 1995 looking at the Bargain Bin section of Wal-Mart I saw a crazy demonic face on the cover of a PC game. I read the back and it looked pretty interesting I loved horror games. And it was only 5 bucks! So I bought it, installed it and played it and it seriously is the best werewolf game/story I've ever experienced. They need to re-release this game, remastered, Blu-Ray quality, so I could enjoy it in higher resolution. This ain't windows 95 anymore!

This game was on a list of my all time favorite p&c's, which includes Phantasmagoria, The 7th Guest (sequal not so much), and hell.. the entire Monkey Island series.

It did scare me when I first played it (well, certain parts in Chapter Five, anyway), but now it's all good. The scariest game I've played is Blair Witch: Volume One (though it's not nearly as good a game as GK2!). Second scariest cos it's worth mentioning is System Shock 2, t'was a creepy and awesome game - still is!

Hmm. The audio/video out-of-sync is interesting. My version has everything in sync, but the videos tend to get choppy if I don't set the video folder to my hard drive.

You will notice the audio goes out of sync in various places in this game... it has nothing to do with the videos themselves, the game did that. I have no idea why.

I tried correcting it here and there but since it goes out of sync and then back in sync in the same videos, it's hard (and very boring) to fix.

I have fixed it in several places though.. would've been worse otherwise.

But it's just something you'll have to live with, I hope it doesn't ruin things too much :)
